Today is definitely a 5(+) for me. No food so far, and I've cut out coffee to reduce my calories more. Just green tea, lemon water, and regular good ol' H2O for company today. I did end up eating on my last DD Saturday because hubby wanted to go out for chicken for lunch. I can't help myself i love those spicy drumsticks from Popeye's and of course i stole a few of his cajun fries. But back on track... always rougher on the weekends for some reason. Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Maybe a 3 or thereabouts!

I got a hair cut this morning, then went to the gym for a one hour workout, mostly cardio. Then home to do laundry, a bit of cleaning and de-cluttering in the garage, kitchen cleaning.

Then on to more creative stuff like wrapping DS's birthday present and sending gifts and cards off to my 5 grand kids and two of my sisters.

I am so tired right now. And not tummy hungry but head hungry. I would love to sit down with some crackers and cheese and a glass of wine! Luckily I only have packets of grated cheese and no wine. LOL! Lucky for me. I definitely will not be running out to the store.

Gonna put some color on my hair and sort through some boxes of clothes.

I have a migraine today so I am in a bit of a funk.
I had a banana and a frozen dinner with a cup of broccoli added in for bulk.
This puts me 10 cals over with a 370 total for the day.

Rest of the day: tea and migraine meds

I am such a HUGE disappointment ...

I can't get rid of this migraine and I was stressing out about work when I remembered that I had a bag of chocolate nuggets in my desk. I no longer have a bag of chocolate nuggets in my desk...

Could be worse but I'm emotionally pining for a hearty stew - it's not hunger, it's the comfort factor but hey, ho. The rains and storms aren't letting up any time soon so it's just got to be borne

That looks like a great plan! Do you drink caffeine? Sipping on green tea throughout the day really helps me. So does a long walk. Both seem to curb my appetite if I need it curbed.

Progress, not perfection and all that. You've a lot going on so it might take you a wee while to settle into the DD routine - just keep giving it your attention when you can.

Congratulations on your first DD. Even the people who've been JUDDDing for several years are still learning new things about how best to integrate JUDDD into their lives and what works for them. I hope that you enjoy your try-out of JUDDD and that you suit each other.

Great job getting through your first DD!

I think I've gotten my DD calm back. I just now had my first calories today, via a plain chobani cup. I do want more now, but I'm okay with waiting until later.

Rough DD today. I had to deal with a family crisis today so I left work for a few hours and forgot my water. So now I'm feeling miserable and headachy. If I'm getting sick I just want it to come along and move on out.

I'm not usually a caffeine person, but I did remember I have pumpkin spice tea, so I'll sip on that throughout the day.

Thanks!

Thanks for the encouragement, SlowSure

I blew this DD, but I'll keep on keeping on. I might try a full fast until 6 or 7 pm and then have some cottage cheese. I'm not a night eater, but if I know the option is there during the day, I take advantage.

Alright, attempt # 6 or 7.

Yesterday, my day went from a DD to an UUAD

I am a binge eater.

As soon as I get home, I am going to drink some Pumpkin Spice tea, and when I get hungry, I am only giving myself the option of cottage cheese or eggs.

It seems that leaving the day open is what leads to my bingeing.

I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

Ehhh maybe a 3? Slept terribly last night (even on the night of an UD!) and snacked until the wee morning hours.

Also, Snowed in today! Eek. Tip for keeping my mind off food?

Having coffee w/ hwc now (50cals)
Dinner: veggies, ham, egg/egg whites omelette
Snack if needed: yogurt with berries, cocoa powder and stevia

Aiming for 400 cals today

Today is my first day in a long time that I'm not scheduled to do any cleaning or painting (I'm worried about my wrists - emphatically, I don't want to hurt them in such a way that I won't be able to kayak because I rely upon that for my physical activity and emotional relaxation).

Tonight my local cinema has a live broadcast of what looks like a fabulous production of Don Giovanni and I shall be there, queueing for Doors Open in the rain. Lovely way to spend a DD evening. I may bring along some dehydrated kale and assorted DD goodies. I know how to seize life by the throat.

About a 5 so far. Better than I expected. Work wake up call at 4am after a very restless night (darn you JUDDD energy!) and was instantly hungry. But some water and a good ol diet pepsi seem to have done the trick.

Experimenting with lowering my fat intake today but keeping my protein high and carbs low. Want to see whether it is fat or protein that has been keeping me satiated on DD's.

Meal: chicken breast with bbq sauce and copious amounts of steamed broccoli.

Hope everyone is having a good DD!

A number of people find that having limited options on DDs helps them enormously. My DH used to feel a little peckish and had to decide to opt for an egg first and if he wasn't hungry enough to eat an egg, then he was experiencing head hunger rather than 'real' hunger.

I wonder if your present living circumstances are working against you being able to do a DD, as prescribed, for now? Particularly if you feel that you're edging into binge eating (tho' I'm never entirely sure what people mean by that as some people use 'binge' to characterise eating more than they'd intended and others use it to describe very large volume intakes).

I wonder if it's time to suggest that you might try higher kcal DD (say 800-900kcals) and then work down from that when you feel ready and circumstances permit? Even so, I don't know if that would be sufficient intake to outweigh any feeling of deprivation or desire to binge.

It depends what's available to you. If all else fails, cleaning is distracting as long as there is some agreeable music. Good luck, tho'. And, if you have any glucomannan powder, today might be a good day to experiment with finding a smoothie/pudding/drink recipe that suits you from the DD recipes thread?

This might be a long day. My stomach started growling by 7:30 am (an hour ago). I generally don't get hungry until much later in the morning, even on an UD, so this is annoying.

Could be a sign of good things to come on the scale. Lots of people tell that when they feel that hunger, the next day they see a drop. Let's hope!
