5, here. It's funny about the planning. I planned for broth and eggs and ended up with salad. My plan often changes, but having planned keeps me committed, and that's what I need.
Lots of good beaming to everybody going back into DDs after the holiday.

So far so good. Probably about a 3 or 4. Not feeling well but have tried to keep it with just coffee and broth.

So, of course I feel sunnier today, because the uptick is passing (weighed in at 124.6lbs this morning).

Completely absurd for moods to be determined by stupid number - and I knew that.

It’s one of the things I hate about weight loss. That slightly obsessive quality. I would love to get to a point where I could lose that without regaining the weight!

I'm glad! I know what you mean though. Mentally, I know w/o a doubt that the number isn't a good reflection. But it can really send me off in a mood if it's not a "good" one. Grrrrr.

Good plan, no reason it won't play out

DD for me. I'm not hungry, which is good. DH wants to go to a movie which is bad!! The smell of popcorn will drive me nuts and DH always buys a bit tub of it with lots of butter.

Better chop up some crunchy veggies to give my mouth something to do!

We're going to the movies today too. I will air pop some and take 3 cups and add just enough melted butter and coconut oil to make me feel undeprived. Much better than the movie stuff, although it surely smells much better!

And oh, I'm also packing my lemon water.....ssshhhhh don't tell anyone.

So far so good on DD #2 of the new year. I'm not feeling at all hungry, but I have that "want to eat" feeling. But I'm sticking to it.

I crock potted some chicken breast tenders and will cut them up for chicken salad for UDs, and 4 oz will be for dinner tonight. Yum!

I think this is currently the downside of 'constant vigilance' for me. Dr Barbara Berkeley, Anne Fletcher and others strongly argue that people who maintain successfully, do it by remaining vigilant and taking immediate corrective action so that a lapse doesn't turn into a relapse.

I'm taking their advice because 6 months after weight loss seems to be the time when the body attempts to regain the previous weight by increasing appetite etc.

Much as it irritates me, I think that I'd need to be vigilant and maintain weight loss for at least a year before I'd relax into trusting the JUDDD process to take the heavy lifting of constant vigilance for me (but that might depend on whether I was following something like 5:2 which might be riskier than my current 4:3).

I absolutely agree, SS, about remaining vigilant. I used to measure my weight by if I could squeeze into my jeans, and just kept buying larger and larger jeans - they fit, no problem :-) I must use the scale to keep on track.

Today, 4.5 so far, am just about over the hardest part of the day!

So far, a great DD. Had coffee with creamer this morning and I'm waiting for the football game tonight to eat the measured chips and salsa. It's not the best food to eat for a DD, but at least I won't feel deprived when my DH is munching on his snacks. I might have some chicken broth after the 4pm mass today.

I don’t know how long it will be before I have confidence. Last time I maintained for five years, then started to think I was past the dangerous part — then we had a tough time with my mother in law being ill & dying, the menopause hit, and over a couple of years, all the weight I’d lost came back. That sort of stuff happens to everybody (well, the menopause shouldn’t strike again, but the other stuff…) and we have to be able to deal with it.

Second DD of the New Year is a little high. TOM arrived two days early and I'm starving. So I'm going to try and stick to liquids for as long as I can. Might have to go to bed early so I don't head for the kitchen cabinets.

Going to be a good one. So far coffee with co, and I made that cabbage with broth and tuna,, had that for lunch. Dinner is two snow crab clusters watching football and a glass of wine. About 600. Better then my usual lately. Hoping to get lower in the next few rotations.

I relate to all of this and you are right. We have to accept that these set backs will be part of life. I'm always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I've lost 3 siblings in the last couple of years and every one has hit me hard. This year being the hardest with the loss of my dear sister and a bunch of other challenges. Menopause was a yucky period of weight gain a number of years ago after maintaining my thin body for over 4 decades. Nothing and I mean nothing I tried resulted in weight loss and the scale kept climbing. this year I'm in it to win it. I am determined.

I survived the movies! Your plan was great. Mine too. I chopped up fresh green peppers and celery and took some cold roast been wrapped in foil. It did the trick along with a small diet coke. Not even tempted with DH munching away on hot buttered popcorn.

On the way home I stopped and bought a dozen fresh lemons. This should end up being my best DD yet of 2014! Maybe I shouldn't say that and jinx myself.

DD fail for me too. I'm at about 800 calories. Spontaneously went out to eat with friends after church tonight and had good intentions. Orders salad and cream of broccoli soup cup because I was freezing but they brought a bowl instead and I ate it! Then of course had no will power for the bread. It is that TOM so I'm actually surprised I lasted all day without eating but it is discouraging. I did enjoy being with friends though

Remember that what we love about JUDD is that it's flexible and we can be flexible with it! You will be so ready for a great DD Monday and your metabolism will be revved up!

Well, to me 800 would still be a DD. A high DD is still a DD! don't beat yourself up. You can either call it a high DD or a very successful MD. Either way, you still get an UD tomorrow and you are still on track. Hey! Life happens! Enjoy it!!

5 today. So great when I work all day. We were editing film and my stomach was louder than our background music.
My god, I look forward to UDs being no more effort than DDs. Feels as though I have tamed one of my wild horses so far but not the other. God, it'll be gorgeous when they're both happily wandering around without me holding for dear life to the reins.

Yam-Yam is spot on.

JUDDD's flexibility makes it harder to be ambushed. I like to recommend that should read Mom2Boys' I believe I had an epiphany thread because I think she gives a superb and very helpful synopsis of just how much flexibility we have with our DDs when 'life happens' or something (good or bad) crops up out of the blue.

So often, it feels as if people call a DD a failure when it is still squarely in the WLM number of kcals and is neither here nor there in the general scheme of weight loss.

There's a big difference between a higher DD or MD and a blow out. As Nancy says:
Quote:
And individual blow-outs are NP as long as they do not happen in a looooong string.
Which is a lovely, pithy summary of the difference between lapses and relapses.

JUDDD doesn't ask for perfection. JUDDD requests that you follow your rotations as mindfully as you can manage and trust the process.

Trying to work through lunch and only have coffee/water. Have a lot of paperwork to do but since I'm drinking so much I've been to the restroom a dozen times LOL. I have my low calorie veggie soup for lunch in the fridge but it's not calling to me so I might skip it and save it for tomorrow. I am off to my second job from 4-6pm so no chance to snack there either!

This is a stella DD, can I have a 5*?

Went to the gym for an aerobic toning class that was HARD, had a coffee with a little soya milk afterward while I read the newspaper there.

Then home and lots of cooking, prepared a low fat ratatouille for the next couple of DDs and made a meal for DH. I had a mug of Miso soup and 2 tiny boiled poataoes.

Now enjoying a cup of tea, at 6 pm. Out to the theatre this evening again and not expecting to have anything except a diet coke there.

No rumbles and feeling the JUDDD calm.

That’s great, Kissa! It’s funny, if I go very low on DDs I get that adrenalin rapid pulse feeling. I’ve rarely gone below about 500, and on the odd occasion when I do, I’ll be struggling enough that my husband always notices and asks if I went too low.

of course you can have a 5* Cindy! Sounds like a great day you had!

I'm working at home, lousy weather, and tidying in between different projects as a bit of a break.

I'm a little bit cold, but otherwise OK I think. I have a plan for dinner, and not much else before.
