Oh boy. It's been two weeks and this is the first DD that hasn't made me want to gnaw off my own leg! Maybe the JUDD magic is finally starting to kick in.

I went to Fogo de Chao last night and had a bunch of meat for dinner. Do others find that eating higher amounts of protein on UDs makes DDs easier? Or is it really just because I'm finally adjusting to this new regime?

Whatever it is, I'm happy. This has been a great day. I'm hoping it means that my inexplicable (and scary) weight gain is finally over ...

I've heard a lot of JB's say that eating protein or LC on UDs helps with DDs, so that's been proven. Glad you have had a good one!

Well, I succeeded in changing up my rotation so tomorrow can be an UD, but I didn't succeed in making one of the past two days a MD - turned out to have two UDs in a row. A bit of a weight bounce but not too bad considering, and neither day was out of control. I do find myself having a tougher time today with my DD though. I had a brief bout of light-headedness earlier today, and a headache for more of the afternoon. I can't take any aspirin because I'm having a very minor procedure on Monday I think I'll hit the bed early tonight.

So far today is ok. I made cookies and did not eat one. I did some batter. I make gluten free cookies and had too if there was enough sweetner. I had an egg white and one of the 100 cal mims. I have to go to a bday party now. I am going to try do hard to not eat anything. If I do it my reward is 2 clusters of snow crab legs when we get home. Now to figure out what to use instead of butter. Hmmmm. Wish me luck.

Brenda, I made cookies today too and didn't have any. I did lick the tiniest bit of frosting off my finger - might have cost be a whole calorie, but I doubt it was even that. We are strong, we can do this! Tomorrow we eat!

It's been another BUSY DD, and I love those. Sunday DDs are my hardest for some reason, and this one has been effortless so far at 2:30pm. I just now had my first calories (other than that darn frosting) in a Chobani. The rest of the day should be a breeze. 5!

You could use butter spray and some fresh squeezed lemon juice, or cocktail sauce for much fewer calories. Gosh that does sound good!

My DD has gone well and have not had any food so far. I give this one a 5 for sure!!

Well I am home and they had some grilled chicken at the party so I had some of that, no cake. But my stomach is hurting like crazy. I think it is my gall bladder. I haven't had an attack in a long time but I think this is one starting for sure. Pain in back and horrible gas and upper stomach pain. Boooo

Sorry to hear about your pain, Brenda. Hope it passes quickly.

I had a 5 DD, coming after a UUAD. Had broth at mealtimes, and full-fat kefir before bed, two small glasses. It was really satisfying. May repeat this one.

Snivelling away. It's very unusual for DH to be ill but he has his once-every-five-years URTI/cold and he's given it to me. He's not great but beginning to recover, I'm at the aching limbs and feelings of ground glass in the joints stage.

Overall, I'm very fortunate as I can't have had a cold in nearly 2 years but, as ever, it's irritating in a holiday run up and I can't hold a cup as my wrists are so weak. Bleugh. I'll be better tomorrow.

So, DD is low-scoring physically, mentally and emotionally but none of that is food-related

to all who aren't feeling well or having a hard DD.

I've been fighting a head/chest cold for a couple of weeks. That's unusual for me. I only had one horrible day, but it's lingering. Bleh! My Raynaud's is being problematic as well. I have several ulcerated fingers and they just hurt. Today's a DD and just starting. I have a gyno appointment before work, so I probably won't have breakfast, or I'll grab a yogurt or protein bar.

The positive: I transitioned back to 5:2 at higher numbers than the last time I tried, and my weight (so far) is staying stable. This morning's weigh-in, after 3 UDs in a row, was 145.6. I'm looking forward to a DD today, and hoping for a 4 or 5!

Hugs to those who are ill!!

Busy weekend, I had a stellar DD on Saturday, even went to a pie party and ate no pie! Yesterday was good, I had a piece of pie then, it was just okay. Last night I had some GF crackers and cheese as a snack while watching a movie with Dh...I'm feeling it this morning, rumbling tummy and hungry already.

Yes, I think lower sugar UD's make for an easier DD transition, for sure!!


Toughing it out for now, but I will persevere!!

just now thinking of making my broth. definitely have the tummy grumbles thanks to friggen carb overload movie night t'was worth it tho - date night with my baby girl. we saw Frozen! really good movie, actually!

I am still feeling bad. Today is an ud but I can't eat. Stomach hurts too bad. I had two eggs, one slice bacon. Lunch was a chicken thigh and I tried to eat some candy to up the calories. Home from work. Took a Vicodin for the pain and now laying on couch in front of fireplace. I am hoping I can eat dinner in a bit. I hope we all get better.

Sorry some are feeling bad. I have a hard time accomplishing anything when I feel bad. I've had some sinus congestion and that's about it. Guess we all need to push the fluids. Hope everyone feels better soon!

Good Morning Budds...

I hope you all are feeling better today! I had a great DD yesterday, working all day helps...I'm a server so I don't get to sit down and we were so busy...

At one point yesterday during the lunch rush I felt like I hit a wall for about 10 minutes, then I was okay. When I got home I had a mug of hot chicken broth and felt better immediately. Dinner was a chicken breast and Normandy vegetables. I highly recommend broth when feeling peckish. It makes a huge difference.

I'm sorry to hear so many not feeling well - hugs to all... no fun to be feeling poorly this time of year.

I'll report how my DD goes - so far, not hungry, but sugar hangover headache reminding me to stick to my plan!

DD5. So far so good for me. I've had coffee so far. Hunger is lurking around on the fringes but its not an emergency and so I'm ignoring it and proceeding with my day.

Once I eat the hunger becomes harder to ignore. Gonna see how long I can push not eating.

This is a GREAT DD so far! The past couple of DDs I have felt the DD energy in spades. Almost to the frenetic point, which may not be good, but I'm getting TONS done.

I was a little worried this would be a tough one after eating a fair amount of cookies last night, after turkey noodle soup and 2 huge biscuits. Talk about carbs! But so far so good.
