All veggie DD today, starting w/ about 100 calories of roasted brussel sprouts, and that should hold me for a long while. I have some vegetable soup planned for dinner. Thanksgiving yesterday was so good. Darn the Up day paradox though, my stomach got full so fast I had no room for any dessert and now have to wait til tomorrow to have pie.

Hope everyone is well and feeling better.

Re-posted from incorrect area!

DD here. Nothing yet as it is early here. Leftovers were sent home, so I'll have some turkey and veggies later.

Hubby is gone for 7+ days, so I am staying out of the kitchen as much as possible! That ought to help on DD's before the next wave of gatherings start...

Hope everyone enjoyed yesterday. The parking lots were full at Best Buy, Macy's, etc as I drove to the airport late last night! Good for the economy, I guess!

Doing good so far today. It's almost 4:00pm and all I've had is coffee w/cream and a Starbucks tall skinny vanilla latte. Even went to the grocery store this afternoon and had no problem!

The only hard part was earlier I went to see my mother and she kept trying to feed me. I didn't eat anything but agreed to take home some cranberry salad so that made her happy. Will eat some chicken soup for dinner and have enough cals leftover for an evening snack if I want it.

Oh my, I am very ready for this DD. I did 3 free days in a row, enjoyed them immensely, but my digestive system is ready for a break! I may try liquids only until dinner, and then see what sounds good. I just don't feel like I need much today.

Last night, I was nervous about DD today, thinking how nice it's been to not think about calories or DDs for a few days. But my body is telling me. I'm a little creaky from the carbs, but also just too much food. My heart feels like it's beating harder/faster, which it always does when I do carb overload. And (TMI alert!) the gas! Oh I hate that!

DD, I love you!

I'm also ready for a DD today after 4 free days. And nearly 8 pounds gain! I'm sure hoping a couple of good DDs this week will undo the damage. So far I've had my yogurt and and I'm feeling good, other than a head cold that decided to show up this morning. I may hit the broth with serranos at some point.

Coffee, tea and water so far. Trying to hold out til dinner for some tilapia and cauliflower. Maybe some more tea and some broth if needed. Feels good but hard to come off the sugar rush I've been on for the last little while.

Dawn-I hope you feel better.

Coffee, tea and water only so far...around 7:30-ish I'll have a very small meal. I'm experimenting with super low-cal DDs, and am pleased with the results so far. I'd really love to take off a few pounds before Christmas (and a pre-holiday colonoscopy lol)

3:20 in the afternoon here and so far just coffee and a cup of broth. I've maintained rotations and yesterday I was so full I was miserable, very bloaty. That's no fun. A definite 5 today, it's like my body is thanking me for the restraint. Maybe salad w/ chicken later, maybe just more broth.

2-Today was hard. I'm bloated and moody so that didn't help
I just keep telling myself 'I can do hard things'. If you've read older posts you'll know that was a motto a while back. I think it helped. Tomorrow will be better!

This was my first down day and it was very easy ... until about an hour ago. I'm always hungry in the late afternoon and today it hit me like a ton of bricks.

I had some broth and that helped for a little bit and then I had a hard boiled egg. I'm letting it sit for a bit here to see if that takes the edge off. They usually do. I was hoping to put off eating dinner until 7 or so but if I can't do it I'll just give in and have my miracle rice and veggies.

I'm sure this is normal, but I have to admit that as a low carb eater for many years I'm not accustomed to that kind of stomach gurgling hunger. (But then again, that's probably one reason why I've gained 10 pounds that I cannot lose!)

It's all good though. I feel sort of virtuous and strong and that's a good feeling (if I can keep it up for the rest of the evening.). I'm pretty sure I can get through this day. And from what you all have written, this usually gets easier over time.

Sooo. Day 1. I would have to call a 2.5. It could be worse!

It's still fairly early for me... But so far, this DD - after 4 "free" days with no counting, and no weighing - is going better than expected! Coffee this morning. I've got flavored water on standby for when the coffee is gone from my extra large mug. And then hopefully the egg & ham slices I brought for my afternoon protein will get me through til dinner time.

Hi Krisitn!!

DD for me, boiled eggs this morning and maybe soup after work today.

My weight loss has been minscule and I'm thinking I may have to low carb on my up days as well if I want to get anywhere...

For those of you who've had great success with JUDDD...

Do you low carb with Juddd, exclusively?

I do not low carb. That was one of the main draws for me to switch from Atkins to JUDDD. I'm not particularly carb-sensitive though.

Good to know! I think I might have to limit to a lower number, like around 50 per day. That way I can get in lots of veggies but not too much processed stuff. IDK. The weight isn't falling off me, that's for sure.

I'm feeling better today, both mentally and physically. I was sneezing up a storm on Sunday morning, and less yesterday, and today I'm pretty ok. Cold, or allergies? werid.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling "it" with food, and so you can say it was a free day.

Today, I'm in it for the win!

will report back, but hope all goes as planned.

I'm looking for a winning DD as well Soren! So far for me - coffee for breakfast and broth for lunch - more because I'm freezing today. I am hoping for a very low Dd today I'm anxious to see a new number on the scale - I've been lax with DDs and didn't show a loss in November... I"m hoping to "brag" about losing weight in December - when did THAT ever happen in my life?

Blonde - I don't actually count carbs, but know that they affect my weight loss. I find if I obstain from them through the day and only eat them at dinner time in normal amounts, I do very well. I stick with lower carb veggies and lean protein through the day - and then if I want a potato, rice or other grain I have it at dinner - if I have them earlier in the day, guaranteed I will eat more grains and have trouble putting the brakes on. Good Luck!

I've done it both ways, Blonde, and I really think I lose about the same. That said, I rarely go carb-crazy. But I do have my pizza days, or dessert days. And I still lose.

It could be your calorie levels aren't quite doing it for you. You really do have to find that sweet spot. I've stalled out because I reduced me calories too low, and I've also stalled out because I let my calories creep up too much. You might want to try either increasing or decreasing your UD calories by about 100 and just doing that for a couple of weeks and see what happens.

This is the first DD of the rest of my life. The first (successful) DD since Wednesday for me too. And I am ready. So far, only hot tea. I'm freezing today, so I'm mentally believing that it means I'm burning fat.

All my DDs since coming back here have been good. I did 500 cal. DDs in the past, but have been trying to stick with what the calculator says this time around. I might go back up, though, because it doesn't seem to be helping me lose any better. I lost that initial 3.5 lbs., and keep floating up and down the same couple of pounds despite doing the rotations correctly this time, too.

Blonde, I'm trying to stick with eating low carb. I cut out carbs, wheat, and sugar months ago, but it hasn't help me in the least to lose weight. I had a carby Thanksgiving and felt no ill effects, which I thought strange. I may not be as carb sensitive as I thought, but I believe lc is still a better way to eat (for me).

Having a really good DD so far. Only coffee, tea and chicken broth up til now. Might have a protein shake in an hour or so before leaving the office (if I need it...if not I'll save it for tonight). I started taking ptero...(not even going to try and spell it) on my DDs and it really helps curb my hunger until later in the day.

well, I had 2 muffins. They are 200 cal each (homemade) but still.

I went and took the advice we were giving others, and looked at my 35% numbers, and I still have room for some veggies and maybe something else for dinner.

Panic averted

And yes - take our own advice!

I've made it through work, now the harder part - when I get home and the choices are plentiful. But I AM determined. I am!
