My DD is going okay, but it doesn't feel like a 5, not sure why, just not in the best mood I guess.

Zumba class and one cup of Soya coffee so far.

Staying at a hotel tonight prior to a wedding tomorrow. Haven't decided whether to stick to a DD tonight or start my weekend early.

Appetite is fine - seems like my little episode on Wednesday when I was peckish in the afternoon was just an aberration. (I spent so long working out what I had available to hand that was suitable that the peckishness passed away.)

Feeling a bit flat but that's probably worse than usual sleep (even by my standards) because of the very warm nights.

tbh, I think it's also because I still can't intellectually think my way out of how to fix my low level of lean body mass and high body fat. I had no idea that the research and public health guidance in this area is such a useless, contradictory, impractical, real-world mess.

Kissa Sorry you're blah today!!!

SlowSure I know you will figure it out!!!

Dawn y'all have a blast but be safe!!!

DD is so far so good. LOL. But it's only 8:30am! I'm looking forward to today's DD. I ate a HUGE meal last night and so am just looking for a break! Think it's gonna be a cod fish night tonite or an egg night.

I'm a data guy, being a programmer, and having the data you need to make decisions is the best possible thing in my mind. At this point you don't know the absolute answer to "what will get me more LBM" but you have your starting point and you can track against that. Choose a path and get the tools to track progress, handheld or scale that tracks BF%, and experiment to see what works. Those tools may not be the most accurate but they will give you the ballpark and used consistently under the same conditions will allow you to see progress. If the path you choose does not seem to be accomplishing your goals, after giving it a good chance to actually make that determination probably 3 weeks - 30 days, then make a change and reevaluate.

If I were you I would try to get at least 30g of protein at each meal, and if you continue doing JUDDD during this make up for the lower protein on the DD by having more on UD's, maybe a protein shake. And do some strength training at the same time.

Hopefully you will find what works!

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Struggling today and yesterday...So hungry. Supposed to have a DD yesterday, and ended up somewhere in a MD - I think. I did not go overboard, but for the first time in 6 weeks was seriously considering a binge. Fast food was calling me! But I did not heed the call. Ate some cheese and sausage instead. And pizza. But tried to watch my quantities...Decided to do another DD today and I am having the same issues. Even broke down and had a bite of the cake I have been resisting ALL week. Deep breath. I am still at only 200 calories for the day. Thinking if I can make this a 500 calorie day - it will be a victory. I just wish I understood this hunger all of a sudden! It has really started the give up, WTH, who cares, tapes in my head. Again, deep breath.
Good news, I did have a good run this morning...

Agreed, and that's very sound advice. Thank you.

I've been weight training with isolated groups (so to speak) because compound lifts have so far been ruled out by my back/hip issues. I need to look into a way of creating a tether or examining what wheelchair athletes do because I doubt I'll see decent strength training improvement until I move to compound lifts.

A 5 for sure. I had BP coffee for breakfast and a HB egg for lunch a more BP coffee for dinner. After I finish outside chores I can have another HB egg if I want it. Been busy making soap all day so had no time to be hungry.

Good advice Mr. Planelman and congratulations on your fantastic weight loss.

I crashed yesterday because I tried to fast until 4 p.m. Then ate 4 shrimp and a salad
with lemon and a bit of ranch dressing. It caught up with me big time by 8 p.m.
I had to make an omelet & drink some low carb milk.

Today is going much better. I feel good. I am spacing my meals.
I made a delicious and large pizza omelet with veggies and only 270 calories.
Will be sharing this yummy plate of food. Nice to know I still have vittles for
tonight.

Another 5 here. My DDs have been stellar of late. I don't quite know why, but I'll take it! Not a hunger pang in sight today. I'll be having dinner in maybe 2 hours, and then another DD in the books.

Happy for you ladies who are rocking the DD. I know you both do a HWC or bulletproof coffee in the morning. That may be the answer to my hunger...more fat. The only concern I have is the calorie load. But I can't do any worse than I am already...

Hmmm. Day 8 of 10 day vacation and only my 2nd "real" DD. it's definitely needed and I haven't been hungry. Just coffee this morning and a couple of the kids' fries when they ate dinner.

This is such a great thread. I've been back about two weeks, and the last two DDs have been so good. No stress, no fear, no serious hunger, and plenty of energy. I'm trying to take every DD (and UD) on its own terms. Just because the last one was good/ bad/ indifferent doesn't mean the next one will be the same. Having said that, it sounds obvious, but I'm noticing how much better my DDs tend to be when I eat nutritionally dense foods on my UDs. Who knew?!

I would definitely agree with you, Alcestis. I know the more protein and fat on UD's mean a more comfortable DD for me. This is my first DD on the weekend. Hoping for great results!

I am a bit late commenting on this, I was away over the weekend at a wedding.

I wish you hadn't had a second DD after you MD, No wonder you wet hungry. When a medium day happens it is better to remember the small, medium, large plan. I know it wasn't planned but you must have been ravenous.

Beautiful avi, Kissa! I love the hat and the outfit is fab.

My DD is going pretty well. I have made it to 3 pm with nothing but coffee this morning. I'm sitting at 90 calories for the day. I just made cheeseburgers for bf and it was smelling so good! I'm going to try and make until this evening to have a meal...several possiblities for dinner, if I can hold out!

Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I was feeling things spiral out of control and felt like I needed to pull back...FORTUNATELY, it has worked, for now.
Today is day two with BP coffee for breakfast and lunch. Had a huge dinner last evening and lost 1.2 overnight (too good to be true). I just finished a very satisfying cup of mocha after a run and long walk and feel pretty good. Will have a very light dinner tonight - thinking mushrooms. WAYYYY better than the last two DD...

Glad to see that everyone else is doing well and hanging in there!

I can only agree with Kissa, it is such a small number of calories over the longterm that when something like this happens, it seems better if we can refrain from any attempt to 'take the calories back'. We learn what we can from going off-plan and then we move on.

It will always vary with how people know themselves but too often a run of stressful or calorie restricted days might spike someone's hunger or stress levels.

Good to see that you've find a useful tool in the fat-boosted coffee.

DD going well. On a scale on 1-5 I'm a solid 5. Yesterday turned out to be a MD instead of an UD. Just didn't feel like eating much. MD's are where I am most comfortable. DD's are sometime's a struggle and so are UDs on occasion; unless I am having Wine...then it's not a problem at all.

I have only been managing on average one DD per week or so for maybe the last 8 weeks or so and today I really need it after a very indulgent weekend. I am hungry but managing just fine but my head is just not in the game. I just don't want to be dieting right now - I resent it. I also don't want my clothes to feel tight and I still have a bunch of weight to lose so it is a lose-lose scenario playing in my head. So a 4 for belly hunger and a 1 for head resentment for me. I need to find some of that motivation I used to have and that got me through 18 months of slooooow losses. Now it seems I just can't be bothered. Ugh.

I just want to give you an enormous hug. Boy oh BOY do I understand that feeling and remember it well. It's horrible. Are you maintaining right now with your 1 DD/week? Maybe you should just stick there right now and be extra kind to you.

Can you pinpoint exactly what's making you resentful? Sending lots of and tons of hugs & empathy. I wish there was a magic pill for this crap. It can be so ridiculously difficult to keep the motivation going. It's always felt like a light switch to me. I'm either "on" or totally "off"!!!
