Yes, it is unusual for me Cindy (LG) so I was kind of surprised but I am back to a 5 now so all is well. Drank a quart of tea while I was milking tonight so I am hydrated and inside cooling off now. I could have been starving because I realized I had nothing after my BP coffee for breakfast. Was too busy I guess.

So you have taken a liking to BP coffee? I was thinking that you had said once that you couldn't drink it. I think I like it best with butter, lol. I haven't tried it in a long time.

I hated it. Then I bought some Kerrygold butter and some MCT oil and it was the coconut oil that I hated. Yuck. I made it with butter, HWC and MCT oil and it was alright. I subbed the coconut oil one day just to see and sure enough I still hated it. Took me a long time to finally break down and order some MCT oil. I have a quart which will last me a LONG time using 1 T per day. I planned on getting DH to try it but he hasn't yet.

I had a little hunger around 6pm while I was in my second hour of a four hour class. I think I was so overtired and bored that all I could think of was food. I'd give today a 4 because overall it went well.

This may have been one of my easiest DDs yet. A solid 5. I barely thought about food at all today, and finished out at 389 calories. The only bad thing is I didn't drink nearly enough liquid during the day like I have been lately. Still, I'm hoping for a nice whoosh in the morning!

Vacation is over!! I am starting over and hoping to be here a while before I have to worry about a derailment. This is life and I am in the game. I am going to totally concentrate on this weight loss as it is as of today my priority. Time to dig in and get stubborn I will thank all now for the support that I know I will get if I just ask.

Big 5 day for me yesterday. Didn't eat all day save for two almond milk lattes and a cup of watermelon. Wasn't really hungry and then at dinner I had a small BBQ'd chicken breast with a huge helping pickled cucumber, (great combo the chicken and vinegary cukes) some pan "fried" cauliflower with garlic (yum, btw) and 2 cups of steamed cole slaw (about 180 cals total) and I could not finish it all -- it was too much food. Too much food! On a down day! What! Best DD evah

Feeling light headed today, but no different than any other DD so far. It's manageable and I'm getting a lot done. Really hoping I sleep tonight because that has been the toughest thing post DD for me.

So sorry you are struggling with your DDs have you tried the 'Barbie' meals? Is your job strenuous? Just trying to get to the bottom of this to see if anyone has any bright ideas.

I am having another 5.

2 black iced coffees so far. Felt my stomach rumbling about half an hour ago, just got on with what I was doing, and low and behold, hungries are all gone without so much as a sip of water.

I am having one of the nice energised, yet peaceful, DDs. I realise how fortunate I am.

Awww - thanks! I've been spreading my cals through the day with a small breakfast, lunch and dinner with plenty of snacks and liquids too (I need to go search "Barbie meals" - don't know what that is!). Hunger isn't the issue - I just feel so out of it (foggy headed) and lacking in energy. And the day feels soooooo long! I have a desk job, but I have been working out on most DDs. I know that's not the best idea ever with the way I've been feeling, but I don't think that's the issue. I felt the same way on the 1 or 2 DDs that I didn't work out.

I'm just assuming that I will adjust to it....eventually? I hope so! Honestly, I would have quit by now if it weren't for the losses I'm seeing. That's the only thing keeping me going!

elphie sorry you are having probs! Why don't you list a couple of your DD food reports. Maybe we can spot something that could help out? I truly think it's the transition phase you're going through...do you take a good multi-vit? Do you drink a couple of mugs of chicken bouillon during the day?

I don't take a vitamin. I do, however, track nutrients and macros (fat/protein/carbs) and try to get a healthy balance for the week. Here are my last couple DDs:

B - 4 egg whites, iced coffee w/ almond milk, green tea - 75
L – cabbage soup & spinach salad w/ salmon pouch, green tea – 124
D – 8 eggs whites, 84g brussel sprouts, 45g broccoli, ˝ Joseph’s pita, iced coffee w/ almond milk, green tea – 215
Snacks – sf jello x 2, diet sodas, ICE sparkling waters, iced coffee w/ almond milk, pickles, 10 frozen grapes – 83
Total - 497

Breakfast - 4 egg whites, iced coffee w/ almond milk, green tea - 75
Snacks - 100g celery, Sf jello - 34
Lunch - Salmon pouch, 150g spaghetti squash, diet soda, 2 pickle spears, green tea - 111
Snack - Broth/cabbage “soup”, green tea - 34
Dinner - 4 egg whites, 84g brussel sprouts, 148g red potatoes – 205
Snacks – iced coffee w/ almond milk, 9 frozen grapes – 40
Total - 499

I appreciate everyone's input! I kind of suspect it's a transition phase as well. I just wish my body would hurry up and transition already!

elphie--just a thought--you are pretty new to DDs, and it takes a little bit of time for the SIRT1 gene to wake up and start making those nice proteins that reduce appetite. Your menu looks pretty good to me!

The only thing I might suggest is to experiment with holding off on eating til later in the day. It is hard the first time you do it, and then you wonder why you didn't do it this way before. I find that when I start eating, it just makes me hungrier. If I delay eating til at least early afternoon, I feel so much better. ymmv.

Well those look pretty delicious and amazing!

What did you have for UDs sandwiched between those DDs? Ouis has taught me through illustrating what she experiences, cause and effect are often non-linear.

In other words, you might have up to a 3 day lag before you see the impact of what you ate 3 days prior! Oy!

I don't know if that's true for me yet. Still journalling to discover that...I definitely see the results 1 day out. For instance, if I choose to have a real treat days for UDs (say, I have pizza or a burger with bun, fully loaded and fries). The gain isn't an issue. It's gonna be 2-3 lbs. Period. I can already predict it. And it will be gone by the 2nd DD after that. But the next DD following that day? Fuhgettaboudit! It's gonna be rough, so I better bring my A-game and big girl panties and just endure. Using all of my feats-of-strength to ward off the desire to snack.

I don't think those feelings come from being weak-willed or having stinkin' thinking. I thing that my blood sugar on a roller coaster! I play, I pay. The end. Until my blood sugar evens out.

But the other thing you are doing is working out a lot. So it's likely you're simply reallllly hungry. I would try adding 100 cals of protein to your DDs. If that doesn't help, try adding 150 cals of protein.

The other thing you could really try is to defer eating as long as you can. Then the following DD, try to defer it a little longer. And a little longer until you are fasting to the point where you just can't get past it. Then eat and eat a slightly bigger meal.

Hope that helps! I certainly don't have it all figured out, but that's my 2cents worth! (LOL, Ous and I were posting at the same time! I too get more hungry once I start eating.)

I generally work out at lunch time so I really do need to eat prior to it getting too late in the day (based on my experience, anyway). I do try to hold off until about 10am though.

I eat clean for the most part - 2000 calories on UD of lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins...... with some chocolate thrown in for good measure!

I'm betting, either the fruit or the grains are keeping the hunger cue going. I can always tell when I eat past my personal carb threshold. I'm exponentially hungrier and snackier on a DD. Over time I just realized most UDs weren't worth the DD grief. I still have fab feast days on UDs (a feast day for me is anything over 1400 cals and over 40-60g net carbs lol--it can still be made up of very real, whole foods)...as special occasions. But for every other day, I don't and it has so helped DD hunger.

Hmmmm. I wonder if carbs are my problem? I've never been low carb and I never worried about it because I read once that my body type actually requires more carbs to feel my best. My macro split for last week was 41% carb, 30% protein and 29% fat. How do I know how much is too much?

Well I would back into it. Just reduce your portion on an UD by 1. And see if that helps. Do it a couple of times and see. I would ditch your nightime fruit portion in favor of a protein snack of the same calorie level. And see how that goes?

Just back home and pulling together our things for the cinema.

I don't know how to score today, so far. I mentioned on the DD Wed thread that I actually got a little peckish this afternoon which is fairly unusual. I spent a while figuring out what was available that was suitable so that by the time I'd worked out what I could eat as a snack, the feeling had passed away. It's been so hot (by UK standards) that I haven't really eaten much on UDs lately so I wonder if today's DD reflected that.

I must pay more attention to UDs if I think I'm missing the allowance by too great a margin.

Today's a dd for me and so far so good - I'll call it a 5. I find that if I eat mini meals (barbie meals) at regular meal times I have more energy and feel better. Also if I had more carbs than usual on my DD before, I get light headed on the next DD and just don't feel my best. It took me a few weeks into JUDDD to figure this out - with writing everything down, and especially how I felt and what time it was. My saving grace has been yogurt mid-day and just protein for breakfast on DDs. I add about 10 almonds or walnuts to my yogurt and I will be ok all day. My DD dinners are usually small portion of lean protein and about 50-100 calories of veggies and/or fruit. And I have to remember, in this summer heat, to drink lots of water and fluids or I will lack energy and feel light headed.

No hunger but I woke up with a killer headache and nothing is phasing it. So I am drinking a lot of iced tea since it is so hot. Thought it might be dehydration and plain water tastes awful today for some reason.

Ugh, usually DD's are easy for me, but I woke up hungry. Then I got to work and realized I'd forgotten my HWC for my coffee, so I used the non-dairy creamer in the break room. And I'm soooo hungry. Also, a coworker brought in donuts and put them on a spare table in my office. One ho-ho would ruin my whole DD. He puts them in my office because it's large with the extra table. Good news at least is that today is my Friday!!

Oh, that's a real challenge. Stay strong! And look forward to your weekend!

My third DD is not so bad so far. 3pm here in Germany and I've only had 150 calories so far. Hungry? Ok, a little bit, but that's more than bearable and I have enough calories left for a nice veggie stir-fry this evening.
