Good advice about the chocolate and more generous DD there and a wise move on both the gym and the fudge bar (I didn't know that they did those as well as the ice-cream). I drink cocoa and make glucomannan pudding with cocoa but I don't for a moment attempt to convince myself that it's the same as eating some chocolate. When you need it, you just need it and there are no acceptable substitutes.

I'm having a rough DD today. I'm going to rate it a 3.

I was hungry all morning (then TOM showed up about an hour before lunch, so there you have it). I have a headache. It's currently 100* and supposed to hit 109* by this evening. I will power through, but, ugh, I don't like these rough DDs. Thankfully, they are few and far between.

Good grief, Dawn, DDs like that seem to demand curling up in a dark room with a hot water bottle, or, in your case, some strategically placed ice-packs and some air conditioning.

It should be another Universal Law of Dieting (Class: JUDDD) that 'All DDs should be smooth-running, stress-free and absolutely no Russian Circus allowed to come to town'. (The Russian Circus euphemism is one that I read recently, having never encountered it before.)

Wednesday is cinema night which helps with a DD evening (although we have snacks of dehydrated kale and glucomannan shakes with us, it's oddly easy not to over-indulge). Depending on the doors open time, it will either be Man of Steel or Despicable Me 2.

I'm quite tired although I slept again last night (I'm not used to all this sleeping ).

Hunger so far is a 4 (it's not a 5 because although I'm not hungry, I fancied something solid rather than my MCT-boosted coffee but it's good for my migraine control so nothing solid until lunch).

7:48am and I'm kind of hungry... this is highly abnormal. I think what happened to Dawn is likely to happen to me. I probably shouldn't have these white capris on, but seriously... I'm too tired to change. I'm going to take my chance and listen to the sound of my stomach grumbling I'm so glad that once I get through today I have a 4 day weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dawn, I hope you're feeling better. Stupid TOM and weather are always messing things up.

Yesterday, I didn't get to post. I was working then traveling all evening. My day started great, but I ended up with a headache from not having enough water. I was waiting at the airport then on the plane with my nephew forever due to a storm. I think I had a cup of water between 5pm and midnight and I was feeling nutty. Of course at the terminal I was in they were doing construction so no food markets were open. Grrr. I had no hunger yesterday so if the evening hadn't occurred I would have said 5.

Hunger is not an emergency, but it is highly annoying and very distracting today. My stomach is grumbling, grumbling, grumbling and I do not feel like being at work in the least.

Yuck, so sorry to hear about rough DDs, Dawn & Carly! TOM is such a pain.

Lisa, yikes on your travel day! That sure doesn't sound like fun!

Kissa, so nice that you cando your DD together! Yay!!!! Good for you on that exercise, too!

Dd here and feeling ok. Honestly, I am just happier on DDs now, despite any hunger. It is much preferred over that darned UD tummy issues lately! 5 so far...

It was a 1 early on, but now about 4.

I had a great find today KFC Grilled chicken breast 220c!

That certainly helped, but my big turn around was just to read lots of posts.

Mine is a 5 for sticking to plan (mostly), but a 4 for hunger. It's manageable, but I can certainly feel it!

Glad yours went well, Cindy and sorry Carly, that your tummy is rebelling today.

Oh no Carly! Sending big for you, hope you are feeling better soon.

Glad to report i'm feeling pretty good today, hunger wise i'll go 5.

But i'm getting that TOTM kind of bloated feeling - i just wish they'd finally go away! I've been anywhere between 2 weeks and 4 months without one, they're just all over the place at the moment

DD is going pretty well. I'll give it a 4. However, I have some aches from not sleeping enough last night and my pillow was too big. My neck hurts. Hungry, but not enough to figure out something to eat that won't mess me up. I might have a coconut bar later, and that will do it.

Yes, glucomannan is konjac root, usually in powder form.

We like glucomannan pudding (I use almond or coconut milk, cocoa and whichever sweetener or additional flavour I like but I know FlossyLiz uses yoghurt to make hers).

Not far off 10pm in the UK. Appetite is 5, no hunger during the day or tonight. Legs are a bit achey but I've had to walk up and down a number of slopes and I find that quite difficult - I'm hoping that they feel better before going on the water tomorrow.

This is my 2nd official "DD" but did 5:2 for 5 weeks prior. I don't know why but the 330 goal is doing a mind game on me. I would BREEZE through those 500 days on 5:2, often coming in under but I am struggling with this. I think, as so many of you do, I need to go above the 20% and give myself a break.
I was at 425 tonight - the last 100 being a glass of wine. Then I had two bites of my kiddo's sandwich as I put it away and had to leave the kitchen. Food is calling me. I also ran today, which could be part of it.
I know I will be okay tomorrow. I usually try to go 16 hours without eating, but I may have myself a big breakfast in the morning if my stomach is still yakking at me and I feel the need.
Reading everyone's posts and having a place to vent is just great. Thank you all.

Good for you, recognising this. You've got at least 2 weeks of induction during which you can try out 500kcal DDs, so bear that in mind as well as the option of going above 20%.

Induction is a grand opportunity to evaluate living with the rotations and finding out which foods work for you on DDs and which particular meal times.

See where you are after 2 weeks, evaluate whether you need to count your UD kcals and tweak your DD kcals and progress onwards from there.

Good luck with the mind games - they're not easy. KUTGW

It's been a long night/morning with no more than a couple of hours sleep...I've had some sugary drinks during the night/morning (not alcohol), so probably already had too many calories, but I'm going to start counting only now with my first cup of coffee. I weigh less today than I have since starting JUDDD, I think, on a DD (after a UD), so I'm going to try and stick with my DD calories. Not sure if it's possible, given the situation and tiredness, but I'll try. Can't give a rating at this point.
