DD Wednesday - Plans, menu etc.

Ho hum. Just going to be one of those days. Thankfully, DH is having business drinks and dinner this evening so although it crocks his DD, mine's OK. (That sounds callous but he loses far more readily than I do and manages to maintain even if he only has one true DD per week.)

B: slice of eggbake with spinach (ca 100kcals) and 50g bacon (ca. 150kcals) and splodge of hot sauce. approx. 260kcals
L: broth reinforced with 10g of gelatine for added protein (ca. 50kcals)

So, it will be quite a late lunch and I plan not to have anything but non-caloric drinks this evening.

I really admire those of you who habitually eat just the one main meal in a day or stick to liquids on a DD. I'd no idea how much I used eating (even small meals) as a way of working around the boring periods of the day.

adillenal 04-17-2013 04:29 AM

DD
B - 2 eggs with SF marmalade, coffee with HWC
L - cold boiled potato
D - cold boiled potato or skinny dip noodles with spaghetti sauce. Depends on my mood this evening

Adi, do you eat the marmalade from the spoon or actually use it as a condiment for the eggs?

Silverrain 04-17-2013 04:53 AM

Good morning, everyone! Here's to a good DD! I plan on keeping busy most of my day, so shouldn't be an issue. I really tried to get in all my calories last night (managed to make it to my limit), so I should be well-fueled.

B: Coffee, 1 tbsp cream.
L: Broth
D: Progresso light soup, 8 crackers.

For the rest of the time, lots and lots of water, a little Diet Coke, and keeping busy with work, housework, and exercise. I am looking forward to finishing the day with success. :)

I put it on the eggs.:)

Mamatomany 04-17-2013 05:27 AM

B: BPC
L: longhorn steakhouse with girlfriend
(looking thru the menu I will be eating grilled shrimp, green beans, and a side salad with strawberries and walnuts with rasp. Vinegrette dressing.
D: NNNOOOTTTTHHHIINNNGGG. .. Boohoo

I'm way over in cals, but I HAVE to go to lunch. So, as I always say "it is what it is."

Sirtain 04-17-2013 05:28 AM

Salmon fillet with 1t mayo
Spinach salad with 1 bacon and 1/2 hard egg
diet jello with cream

My challenge will be to avoid eating while I am with my friend, helping her with some moving stuff.

Flossyliz 04-17-2013 06:20 AM

So much for not eating till dinner time. :annoyed: DH came home with fish & chips to share - well I couldn't just smell them! :p Fortunately, I didn't have much and our local chippy cooks really dry chips (fries) - I don't eat the batter anyway. ~ where's the halo smiley? ~

L: Was hopefully only about 150 cals
However, I'm going to a meeting this evening, so will have to have dinner by 6pm at the latest.

Salvage plan:
D: Big bowl of homemade quick tomato soup with PB2, gluc powder and Greek yogurt - 112
S: 1 Ryvita with a sliver of cheddar - 75
Milk in teas - 45

 Total = 382

PS: Plus lemon water and lots of plain water. ~ Insert halo smiley #2 ~

I'm intrigued enough that I may have to try this. :) Along with cottage cheese and baked potato at some point.

Things I'd never tried before JUDDD:
  • SF syrups in coffee
  • coconut oil as a cooking medium
  • Flossyliz's glucomannan gloop

Things I hear about from JB's that I want to try:
  • Wendy's chilli
  • Suzie's thin cakes
  • Kim's magic pop puff cakes
  • fudgsicles
  • Red Lobster crab claws
  • Bulletproof coffee
ETA: I can do the BPC and have finally cracked and ordered some MCT oil as an experiment. But for the rest, it will have to wait until I'm next in the US as, afaik, none of the others are available in the UK (as per Flossyliz's comment below).

not callous at all! My Husband started on the same day as I did and in less than 3 months he was down 40 pounds. He has gained a few (he was too thin) and now, he barely does 1 or 2 DD's a week! GRRRRR MEN!!!!!!!!!!

Mommatomany, I completely agree with you on this. I am not the MOST successful person here, but I go with LIFE is meant to be LIVED! You may not experience a huge loss, but staying the same works sometimes too! (although, you may lose, who knows JUDDD ROCKS)!!!!

zipp2play 04-17-2013 06:51 AM

today, well I woke at 4:15 a.m. (30 minutes early) and on our walk, DH could hear my tummy growling LOUDLY! He was like, really???? OH Well. Filling up on water right now.

Stir fry with egg 100c
cottage cheese 160c
crack slaw 260c

520c , hoping to stick to this. I may do a salad instead of Cottage cheese, I will have the calories be the same either way!

SlowSure, I'd never heard of glucomannan, but I owe my best DDs to shiritake noodles and recently - and more cheaply! - to gluc powder. :D

The magic pops sound great but I can't source them in UK.

I am trying to get my husband to do JUDD with me. I just started. Right now, he thinks I am a little crazy

But I told him once I start dropping weight he will want to join me, I hope anyways! I KNOW he will lose easier than me because he has way more weight to lose than I do! Plus he never eats breakfast and can go half the day without eating no problem, not me!

Flutter 04-17-2013 07:29 AM

Same ole same old. Coffee w/ skim this am...planned late afternoon large skinny latte. Crazy afternoon here w/ too many kid activities. Shouldn't be that hard to do.

Hope it's a great day for everyone!

JMBM 04-17-2013 08:09 AM

Happy DD everyone!;)

B: Coffee w/ 2 Tbsp of ff creamer
L: X
D: Not sure at the moment. Maybe 1 cup of boiled potato w/ ff cottage cheese and salsa! Thanks Adi!!;)

Yennie 04-17-2013 08:53 AM

B: Coffee w skim milk and splenda
L: Beverages only, lemon water mostly (barn day so easy to skip eating while we're out & about)
D: Maybe nothing, belly still hurting from  If I do eat it will probably be plain rice or boiled potatoes as they seem to be easiest on my poor, abused system.

cruddell 04-17-2013 08:56 AM

Good morning,

I plan on doing another Potato Hack for my DD.

B: lemon water (lots), and hot tea (I've been doing Intermittent fasting til 12:00 each day)
L: potatoes
D: Potatoes

I new here and have been doing JUDDD for 2 weeks now. I did a potato day 2 days ago and felt pretty full.

Have a great day everyone!:)

mom23kids 04-17-2013 08:59 AM

Potatoes with ketchup and A-1 sauce

I must agree, I knew I ate out of boredom. But it really wasn't until JUDDD that I noticed it was pretty much the cause of my weight gain!! Eating during the day to pass the time...eating while marking ..eating while watching tv .
I have substituted with water, tea and chewing gum. I also like putting sparkly water in a nice wine glass and adding some crystal light -- something special to sip on lol -- its fruity and pretty haha.

Todays DD:
B: one egg
L: 3 cups spinach w/ vinegar + 1 babybel cheese (light)
S: 1 babybel cheese
D: 60g tuna
S: 1 slice swiss light cheese

as well as green tea, gum etc. around 325 calories:up:

I find cheese really stops the hunger - I guess its the combination of fat/protein

tobelowcarber 04-17-2013 01:46 PM

B: 6 oz broiled lamb kebabs (marinated in yogurt, garlic, ginger and spices)
L: not hungry, skipping
D: same as breakfast plus 5 oz spaghetti squash and 3 oz carrots

609 cal/20 gr carbs

Adi I had my first potato, cottage cheese, and salsa meal. Delish!:yummy: I'm pretty full too! I had 1 cup boiled potato, 1/2 c. ff cottage cheese, and about 4 Tbsp of salsa. About 285 for the day and that includes my 2 Tbsp of ff creamer at breakfast. Just hope I'm not hungry again before bedtime!:aprayer:

lisamt 04-17-2013 06:20 PM

I had coffee with almond milk for breakfast, then fasted until dinner. I had 3 strips of bacon, 2 eggs over easy, and a mug of tea with a splash of almond milk.
327 calories, 24 g fat, 24 g protein, 2 g carbs.

I forgot to take a pterostilbene capsule today, but didn't really need it. I worked 10 hours and keeping my hands busy helps to distract me from feeling hunger.

I was intrigued enough to order some shiritake noodles last night and hopefully they'll be here for tomorrow's DD.
I hope they help to keep the hungries at bay.
