Thinking of buying the Fast Diet Book

I am not going to attempt 5:2 diet but was going to buy the book just for it's Science. Is it worth buying, for those who have bought it?

I'm on ridiculously long waiting list at my library for it However, I watched his bbc documentary and that had all the science info in it. He also just did a pbs special you can watch online too.

I bought the book for my Kindle when someone mentioned it was on sale for $5 something. The book follows along with the documentary on PBS completely!!! If you watched the show, you know the book!

There are a couple of things in the book that nay not have been in the documentary.
First there is some discussion of how this ofton helps ashmia. And something I found
verry interesting was his mentioning an old spanish study using older adults and a plan
somewhat like JUDDD. They were not trying to lose weight. So instead of eating there
maintenance calories of 1600 per day they ate 2300 calories on an up day and 900 calories on a down day. Those who did this had a lot fewer deaths and days in the hospital all without losing weight.

E.W. I think that was in Dr Johnson's Alternate Day Diet book. A most interesting study I thought.
