JUDDING With 5/2 - April 14 - 20

I am a bit early here!

This past week has been a good one for me, hope to continue!

Wishing all of us a good week with lots of losses!

Kissa 04-14-2013 02:59 AM

Thanks Leona, good week for me too. This morning I was 126.2 after 2 UDs.

Will have to move my Monday DD to Tuesday this week so will have 4 UDs in a row. But I'm am not worried, I am having an easy time maintaining.

Lori_:) 04-14-2013 04:36 AM

Have a good week everyone!

I'm hoping to maintain my merely "overweight" status thru the week. It will be a bit of a challenge with having a long weekend away with my sister. We are both foodies and always seem to find the best things to eat and drink when we are together! I aim to have a good time and deal with reality when I get home!

I'll have 2 good fast days before the weekend starts....I think I'll be fine.

mom23kids 04-14-2013 05:16 AM

Had a great family get together at my house last night and enjoyed pizza from a local place. Didn' t worry about calories and just ate till satisfied. Jumped on the scale and I'm still 129.5 this morning :D Today is another ud and then tomorrow will be a md, possi ly with potatoes.

Have a great day everyone!

Is that according to BMI, Lori? I guess that will be my first milestone...from obese to overweight!

157.4 this morning, after my 159.4 2 days ago. Whew. It's been 12 days since I saw 160. May be time to change my stats to maintaining between 157-159. Not a bad bounce at all with all the UDs I'm having now. :p

This will be my second UD in a row since I am going to give 4:3 a try. My 5:2 experiment was a failure so maybe 4:3 is a better choice for me. We shall see. If I consistently see 140 on the scale again I will go back to EOD.

Yes....I use an App on my phone called weight tracker and my BMI slipped from obese to overweight yesterday.....who'd have thought I'd be happy to be overweight?? :hyst:

I'm going to start 5:2 combined with LC this week with tomorrow being my first DD. Wish me luck!

Good luck! I've been doing LCHF for over 3 months, and started 5:2 last week. I may eventually go to 4:3 but for now I'm comfortable with 2 DD's per week. I can lose on LC but want to do 5:2 for the health benefits of calorie restriction.

I haven't weighed in since last week because my shark week started yesterday, and that usually means a bounce up on the scale.

Today is a DD for me. I've had 2 cups of coffee with coconut oil and hwc, and plan to drink protein shakes for the remaining calories.

When I average out my calories for the past week (Sun-Sat), it comes to 1396 per day. That's close to what I was doing on straight LC, but I'm hoping the DD's will help me lose faster. :)

JMBM 04-14-2013 12:03 PM

Friday's UD was a little high around 1900, Saturday's was around 1600 (Shot for 1500, but went over:sad:) Today I'm at 1150 so far so may just do a adkins shake, or something very light for dinner. Wanting to do M,W,F rotations, but Friday is my birthday, so I guess I'll have to celebrate it on Saturday?:dunno: As much as I was planning on going "hog wild", I don't think I'm going to let myself go crazy. Potentially will be a 2000 cal UD for sure, but I don't want to judge the success of me changing to 4:3 having an UUAD thrown in there. Any suggestions? Should I watch my other UD's this week or have an extra DD to offset?:dunno:

Kissa 04-14-2013 12:17 PM

Oh dear, champagne and chocolate brownis. My bad.

4:3 or 5:2 do not leave a lot of room for UUADs. For me, I could only lose weight with eod rotations and very low DDs. I has 150 calorie DDs so I could enjoy my UDs and lose weight. Birthday's come 1x per year so I say enjoy, but don't be terribly disappointed if losses are small. HTH.

kimrich2 04-14-2013 05:39 PM

Is there a list somewhere of acronyms? What is UUAD?

grannysmith 04-14-2013 05:56 PM

I got this!!! Up, Up and Away Day...an up day that gets away...like my beautiful balloon!

grannysmith 04-14-2013 06:02 PM

Thanks! I was on the right track!

As a newbie, I've read the importance of good DD/UD rotations. I'd like to do more of a 5:2 ratio, but want to know what you veterans think. Thanks!

How are you doing on DD's? If they are a struggle, 5:2 might be a good way to ease into JUDDD. :)

I'm doing 5:2 along with low carb. It's too soon to tell if I'm losing faster, but I doubt that I would lose much of anything if I was only doing 5:2.

kimrich2 04-15-2013 04:19 AM

I'm so glad I'm starting this today. I weighed in and am right back where I started from last April. I had gotten down to 193 and then after a series of funerals and holidays and just plain frustration with the whole process this is where I am. Sigh. It is TOM, so a few pounds are likely from that too, but still, to have gone so far backward is sad and embarrassing. I started LC as a group with friends last year and 2 are at goal (not as much to lose, but still) and the other 2 are keeping what they've lost off beautifully. I'm so happy for them, but it's so hard for me. :( Today is a new day and a new WOE that I hope will work for me!

I don't lose at all on 5:2, which is fine since I'm in maintenance, but I probably would have been very frustrated if I was trying to lose. I think some have been able to lose with 5:2, though.

Lori_:) 04-15-2013 06:38 AM

Enjoyed my 2 UD's this weekend, but back to a DD today. I'm going to give it 2 good DD's this week and then Friday morning I'm leaving for a long weekend with my sister. Not stressing over what I'll eat over the weekend. I'll just be back to a 4:3 plan next week.

Loving the 5:2/4:3!!

:welcome: If you were starting at the beginning of your weight loss journey I'd say start with 5:2. There's lots of people losing weight on this plan on different forums. However, since you've already lost so much weight (congrats!!!), then you might want to try JUDDD/every other day rotations first. For most of us here 5:2 works great for maintenance but not so much for weight loss. But we've already lost the bulk of our weight/called goal and that seems to affect 5:2 somehow.

After a pretty generous weekend I'm up 2lbs. I'm doing a potato md today, but so far have absolutely no hunger this morning, even after doing a brisk two mile walk. Might not eat till this afternoon :dunno:
