I'm thinking of doing DD's every 2 days rather than on a fixed schedule to see if that helps me lose faster. For instance, if my first DD of the week is Sunday, the next one would be Wednesday, then Saturday, followed by Tuesday and so on. I may need to mark DD's on a calendar to keep track so I don't get confused. I guess I would basically be doing 4:3 but without a fixed schedule.

I'm doing it to where I just choose on Sunday what my 2 DDs will be for now. We have a very active social life on the weekends with the kids and friends, so I can't see doing a weekend DD any time in the near future. This week I did Monday and today because I don't want a full 4 days between DDs, so my next one will likely be Monday again and then I'll schedule the next one on a night we don't have dinner with friends.

That is basically what I do too Kimrich. I say I do Monday and Thursday but adjust them as needed.

Did my second potato dd yesterday (did'nt count calories though, it was more of a md), and I'm at 130lbs this morning

I also had a wacky thing happen last night-yesterday I walked my two miles in the morning and then in the afternoon I did my second day of strength training (Mark Lauren's plan). When I took a shower last night I noticed my thighs were really big and squishy-moreso than normal lol. My dh really noticed it too and was like what happened to your legs?! They did'nt hurt, just looked really swollen. This morning they're back to normal. Would this be what people are talking about when they say after working out your muscles can hold water Does it calm down after your body gets used to exercise?

Cindy, did you do that for weight loss also? Or just for maintenance? I'm hoping 5:2/low carb will be enough for weight loss. I just started this week and have at least 50 to lose.

Just for maintenance. I have been maintaining for ages with JUDDD and thought I'd give 5:2 a chance, and it works!

But you will see others using it for weight loss very successfully.

New week...loss of .6. lbs, 214.2. I had 2 good DDs. 3 UD and 2 MD

I know all of you who have already lost weight know how I feel when I saw, I an so thankful for the 30 + lbs gone, it was so much easier to plant my tomato plants this week than it was last year. If 5:2 stops working for me, I will definitely do JUDDD, this is the way to go for me!

Your answer ma'am

The reason behind it is that when challenging muscles beyond their normal use, you cause muscle damage. The damage initiates an inflammatory cascade in the body. The result of some of these inflammatory mediators (in an effort to allow transit of more nutrients to repair muscle fibers) is damage to capillary (blood vessel) walls. This damage makes the capillary walls more "leaky" and you get movement of water volume into the muscle fibers (along with the nutrients - this is the goal).

The reason that you gain weight is that you body still needs a certain circulating volume to perfuse your organs, so you retain more of your dietary water until you reach your bodies equilibrium.

If you pay very close attention, you will notice that over the next few days, as your muscles recover and that volume re-enters circulation, you will urinate more, and the weight will come off.

Had another .2 loss That's a total of .3 for the week so far and I've got one more DD to go. Also, TOM is knocking at the door so I know I've retained some fluid also. Totally lovin it!!!! Couldn't be happier, overjoyed, thrilled, and did I say uhhh happy? I feel bad for people doing other diets. I guess to each his own, but I can't imagine trying to lose weight any other way.

Monday potato Day, Tuesday potato day till 7pm when I felt like death warmed over so had 1 peice of pizza, Wednesday- normal DD, Thursday UD= 123.2- new low

The potato hack was dreadful on Tuesday and I'll likely never do it again, but I'm tickled about seeing a new low!!!!!

I had a lovely DD on Wednesday and I love 5:2 just like it is... no more hacking for me!

Kim, that's dabomb diggity! Wowzers!

Carly, new low ~ YIPPEE SKIPPEE!

jmbm - WTG!

I'm on day 5 and down 4.5 to 154.5 (from 159.0). I love the luxury of the UDs! I made French Toast this morning. I do follow LC JUDDD, which I call JUDDDKINS! LOL! So my French Toast only had 4 net carbs! Woo hoo! I'm almost back to my Lowest Weight of 153.5. The best part, so far, is that I've been pretty stable weighing after my UDs.

Thanks for EVERYTHING y'all!

tofucheez, I used almond flour and parmesan cheese. Sounds weird I know, but it is FANTASTIC!!! It is definitely an UD item, clocking in at a little over 400 calories, but only 4 net carbs.

Everyone is doing so awesome!! Guess it's time for me to jump in with both feet, huh?

I know I tried this once before when I first went into maintenance. I chickened out when my weight started going back up!! Now, the last 2 weeks I've done 4:3 in prep for 5:2! And both weekend days were UD's. Next week, I will only have 2 DD's, Monday & Thursday. I've also lowered my goal weight to 140. It's crazy how in maintenance I've continued to lose weight. My DH is still doing ADF; but, I'm ok with that & so is he.

So, no obstacles in my way! 5:2 here I come!! I see you all are doing beautifully! BTW......I'm still reading the Fast Diet book & I've watched all of the PBS specials with Michael Mosley. If you've missed them, maybe you can watch them online. There is one more next week. Check your local listings for PBS in your area. This may have already been posted here. If so, sorry!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

This Sunday is supposed to be my next DD, but I think I'll switch it to Saturday. I'm working overtime tomorrow and it's easy for me to not think about eating when my hands are busy.

I'll be surprised if I lose anything the next week or so. My body really hates getting up at 5:00 am and I'm working a lot of overtime. It's only temporary though and will be worthwhile for the paycheck!

I started 4:3 on Monday.

UD, Monday, Wed, Friday, and Sunday. DD on Tue, Thursday, and Saturday.

Well, I just found about 1:00 today that we have a luncheon tomorrow for my husband's company, this is an appreciation function that they put on for all buyers. Well, I now need a UD tomorrow also, this will make 4 UD in a row for me as I do not want to change my days I have set. I guess this will be a 5:2 week for me after all. I hope I don't gain like crazy, I am not ready for maintenance by any means. Thoughts? I .

Second UD and as of 9pm I'm holding at 123.5. I wasn't sure if that loss from a day and a half of taters would last, but I guess so. I even had a big (for me) lunch today... 6 pieces of sushi and half a bowl of miso soup

I think on Fridays I'm going to have lunch. I never take a break and today I had a lovely lunch w/ DW and LiLi914 (who both work with me) out on the deck at our office.

Life is too short and the work was there when I came back 30 minutes later. I didn't finish all that needed to get done, but the extra 30 minutes wouldn't solve that issue either... So I'll commit to every warm, sunny, Friday having lunch out on the deck!
