A word of warning: If you're sensitive to caffeine, do NOT try this product (though they do make a decaf version).
THANK YOU For this. I am ceffeine sensative and it would cause huge issues for me PLUS I can't stand the taste/smell/anything of coffee!

I have some Pure Protein chocolate shakes. I may pull them out again. They are 120c and have 20 grams of protein.

Today for me:

veggie stir fry with 1 egg 120c
salad (again) 130c
not sure dinner - soup? Maybe more stir fry?

DS14 has decided to follow JUDDD with Dennis and I. We have him doing 2000c up days and 1000c down days. This morning when I was going over what his options could be and asking him what he wanted me to make, I could tell, he was BUMMED! Poor kid. But life is that some teens can eat WHATEVER and stay rail thin and then there is T (my son) who cannot! He could stand to lose probably 40 pounds would be thrilled with 20 at this point. It's HIS deal. He came to us and said he wanted to give this a try!

That's very mature of him to decide to get this in hand. I'll be interested to follow his progress.

Will it make catering for the family easier or will you need to cater yours and DH's menu, one for your DS14, and yet another for other children? (Ignore if intrusive or too complex to explain.)

Not intrusive at all. Honestly, the way we do it at our house is on Up Days, we make a big dinner that we all eat and make extra for leftovers. That is typically what the kids then eat on DD evening meals and if there is enough, we also use the leftovers for Up Day lunch. We almost always bring our lunch to work, eating every other day lends perfectly for that!

I hope it goes well for him!

I'm hoping for him too. Being a teen with weight issues is not easy, and eating differently than the other kids is also not easy. I'm just hoping he'll get really fast results so he will feel motivated to continue!

Are these the ones from costco? in small tetra pak that looks like a can but isn't?
We like those too, BUT... some have been chunky which we've returned. We started getting a different brand, in cans, from our grocery store. Miss the convenience of costco on those, but then in the end, DH isn't having them as often now and I don't have them at all.

I think this is great. I wish I'd known about this when I was 14, b/c I invented my own diet, which did not work out well long term

I'd think, maybe make sure everyone takes a multivitamin, up and down days?

Let us know how he does!

me, today:
totally bummed out-- dog issues (girl dog is still limping, so we're going to change her pain meds, which apparently is a bit of a long process, to avoid her getting ULCERS and boy dog's cultures came back and he does have a raging strep and e-coli infection in his urinary track . BUT-- they both respond to the antibiotics he's already on, so we just need to grab a 2nd week of that when we get the new meds for girlie).

AND-- I made the mistake, on purpose, of weighing today. I was bummed yesterday about my gain after a DD, so hey, add insult to injury and weigh after an UD I was up another pound on top of yesterday, so I have no idea if I can lose all the way back down to 237 today, tomorrow, and Saturday...

Ok, that's it, I've vented. Thanks for listening.

Yes, for fast results. Especially for teenagers.

My Down Day is going to be a fasting one again. Water, water, more water. I had good results doing it on Tuesday. Not as much hunger as on 400K Down Days, and very few pains the next day, which I am anxious to see if it happens again. Fewer pains = GOOD!

I have lots of sewing planned to keep me busy... if I can ever get off the computer!

I need to do better with the water. I made "sassy" water a few days ago. It was ok, but kinda has a funny taste. Basically lemon water w/ cucumber and ginger.

Aw Soren, doggie issues are so stressful! I'm sorry your babies are not feeling so well. You'll get them back into fine form soon. Sounds like you have a good vet.

As for the scale, don't sweat it. Right now you've got stuff going on, and you're probably retaining water from all the stress. It'll pass and you'll be on the road downward again, my friend!

Sorry about the doggies Soren. We had a blood peeing episode a while back and took me forever to discover who had the issue (3 dogs). Looks like you've got a good DD planned! Hang in there you're strong!

My DS#3 is 16 and has been watching me doing JUDDD the last couple weeks. He is asking questions and is saying that he is going to join me when he gets out of school in the middle of May. He is also about 30 to 40 pounds heavier than he should be.

Keep us posted on how your DS does.

Hi Soren.

Pack with cool clothes when you come. We were 86 yesterday, little cooler today at 78, 80's this weekend and into next week. I am just on the outskirts of Sacramento. Not sure what part of CA you are coming to visit, but it is warm in No CA.

Ooh good. Luck to the teens starting!!!!

Soren, you have had a lot of doggie worries lately!

Just coffee for me again. A little higher because I had a bit of creamer this morning. The usual Skinny latte this afternoon. Think I am right at 200 cals and done for sure.

I have been drinking Apple Cinnamon water...I love it!! It is just a sliced up apple with a cinnamon stick (I usually put it in a quart and fill it up a few timesbefore I change the apple and cinn. Stick) I think I am drink way more of it that I was of lemon water, and I just needed a change :-) they say it is supposed to help boost your metabolism along with a buch of other benifits. Anyway, just thought I would share another option!

Ok, did not have vanilla Greek yogurt, but did have chicken and shrimp stir fry. Stir fry consisted of 1 c. chopped cabbage, a few cubes of chicken, 5 shrimp, and about 1/2 c. mushrooms. Best I figured that was around 150. So total for the day is around 290. Give or take a few calories here or there.

I might have to give that a try. I love apples and cinnamon. I have been drinking the orange/passion fruit green tea. I sweeten it w/splenda. That's about the closest thing to water I get. Not a big fan of plain water, but I know I desperately need to be drinking it. I think that's a big reason I'm not losing any faster than I am.

End of day:
Feeling a bit better, guess the food helps

Saved some calories, tried 1 T cocoa in my yogurt instead of jam. 15cal for 1T vs 40 for 2T jam.
So I come in at 419 cals for the day, 20g carbs.

Hoping for improvement on all fronts tomorrow!

S

Ps: when i go to ca, its to our office in San Mateo, so I've learned to pack for a variety of weather!

This is going to sound dumb, but I love it when I make it through an entire DD w/o eating til dinner. It's like I get to keep eating after that point and the DD is over. Eat my evening meal, take a nap, and wake up and get to eat all day! How awesome is that?! Idk if I explained that quite like I meant it, but hopefully you get the idea.
