DD Monday: Menus and plans

Mine's quite simple.

I've already had my protein breakfast for my leptin reset and that's grabbed 245kcals from my DD allotment of 317.

ETA for Mamatomany: I had 1/6th of a breakfast bake made with 5 whole eggs and 10 egg whites, one char-grilled red pepper and 240g of spinach. I made up the protein by drinking 30g of gelatine in hot water with a 1/2 tsp of chicken stock powder.

So, I shall eat dried tomatoes and a few olives when I serve DH his dinner tonight as I don't have enough calories to eat dinner with him while I'm transitioning to the leptin reset nor when I'm doing it on DDs. But, that's only DDs, we can still eat together on UDs and MDs.

So what is your protein breakfast?...and leptin reset I guess I have to research? I have a busy day so I am trying a BPC with 1 TBSP. butter, and 1 TBSP. coconut butter, and we shall see. I am supposed to eat I think 307 calories on a DD...never happened I try to keep it to 500 tho...I am going to try some lemon water too...I would love to just eat one meal at night, but not sure how it will go

Sometimes tricky to work out which links one can post but I don't think that I can - although a quick search on the forums shows some mentions.

If you google for

Kruse leptin reset rx

then you should be able to get a decent overview.

It's a companion piece to insulin resistance in many ways. If you're overweight (or have been) and have difficulty losing, frequently stall etc. then you may be leptin resistant in the same way you can be insulin resistant. The reset is designed to move you towards leptin sensitivity again and (unfortunately) starting your day with a 50-75g protein breakfast is part of that - which is a huge grab of JUDDD DD calories.

Hello, all! Hope you had a lovely weekend. My own weekend was slightly off-track for me as I had a lot of social events to attend, but today is a new day! Not going to worry about it!

B: Coffee, 1 tbsp creamer, sunflower seeds - 147 cal.
L: Broth - 5 cal.
D: 2 egg omelette w/about a tbsp each of red onion and green pepper (155), plus 6 strips center cut bacon (140) - 295 calories.

Total should come in around 452 calories. Good enough for me after this past weekend. Luckily the scale didn't show too much damage. Onward! Have a great day everyone!

Yesterday's very in control UD turned into an UUAD late last night. I wanted a drink (?? I never drink alcohol late at night??) and chocolate. I made a decision to let myself have a splurge, knowing TOM was coming, and it woke me up with bad cramps about 4am. I am so ready for this DD!

B: Coffee/HWC
L: Iced tea w/lemon
D: Pork loin and brocolli

I'm back to nothing again. My last 2 DDs I tried eating and it made the day so much harder. I'm just going to have to hope that zero food won't give me diet fatigue or less wiggle room when the stalls happen.

I'm becoming more ok with it, really. As long as the trend keeps going down ill keep doing what works. And it does work, this much I know.

I'm at 223 cals and negotiating what I can have for dinner. I think I'm going to have a tilapia filet (90) and 5 ounces of brussel sprouts (50). I won't be able to stick with my original plan of 300 (or less ha!), but will come in under 500.

ETA: I know I've figured out potato calories before many times, but was surprised that 80 calories of red potatoes can fit in one hand! And I don't have big hands. Nixed that idea.

Hello,

Well, had quite the UUAD yesterday, which is unfortunate being I have only been around here 1 week! But hey, it's crawfish season and it was the crawfish festival this weekend. And, it was beautiful here on the Texas Gulf Coast! DH and I put away about 3lbs each, drowning in butter, plenty of buckets of beer and some fried pickles on the side.

So, was trying to be really, really good today. And, am committed to going back to strict LC UD's.

B: protein Shake 110 cal
S: handful of baby carrots 35 cal
D: I made the Weight Watchers Taco Soup (or something similar) that someone posted in the recipes on here. It ROCKED! 3 heaping, filling cupfulls 125 cal. Added some wheat toast with some real butter (forgot to buy ICBINB Spray) 75 cal.

Total = 345

Well under my 500. Deciding if I should stick to where I am or splurge on some SF Jello/SF yogurt concoction I made also from this boards recipe section. Hmmmmm

Ooh- I missed that recipe. Do you remember which thread that is in?

I had a hungry day but I think I did ok...

B: protein shake - 100 cal
L: Wheat puff (15) with 1 tsp peanut butter (30) and 1/2 tbsp chia seeds (30)
D: 3 pickles (15), 75g ham (105) and I picked at a roasted chicken I bought - I am guessing the total meat I ate was about 1/3 c so ~100?

Total: ~400? Just a little over my DD target of about 375

Here you go, I copied it from the DD Recipes thread! We like spicy so I added quite a large Jalapeno, a large poblano, and 2 of the adobo's. We also added in a package of miracle rice. But I didn't think it really added anything and would be fine without anything like that.

WEIGHT WATCHERS MEXICAN ZERO POINTS SOUP
Hands-on time: 40 minutes
Time to table: 1 hour
Makes 12 cups

6 cups vegetable broth (I used 6 cups water and Goya mexican boullion)
14 ounces canned diced tomato, Mexican-style preferred (I used Rotel Mexican Flavor)
2 cups fresh green beans
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 small zucchini (about 8 ounces before trimming)
1 cup tomatillo, cubed (start with about 4 ounces or 2 medium tomatillos- I couldn't find these, just chopped up some Roma's instead)
1/2 medium poblano chili pepper, chopped (I used a large)
1 medium jalape˝o, membranes and seeds removed, minced (I used a large)
1 medium red or yellow onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon fresh oregano (I used 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano)
2 roasted red peppers packed in water
1 tablespoon chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (these are found in small cans in the 'Mexican' section and boy, and be careful, they are hot!!!! I like hot so we used 2 but diced em up very fine)
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped

OPTIONAL BUT TIME-SAVING TIP Bring the vegetable broth (or water for bouillon) to a boil in an electric tea kettle or in the microwave while prepping the vegetables.

Heat a large pot or Dutch oven on MEDIUM HIGH. Add the vegetables and spices (canned tomatoes through oregano) as they're prepped. Add the broth when it's ready. Cover and bring to a boil. (Because I used boiling water, the soup was just starting to boil when I added the last ingredients.) Once at a boil, partly uncover the soup, reduce the heat to maintain a slow simmer and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir in salt, lime juice and cilantro. (I then whizzed it a bit with my hand blender to break up most of the veggies but still leave some chunky. I also tossed in a bag of the miracle noodles).

NUTRITION ESTIMATE (From the website, I did not recalculate)
Per Cup: 43 Cal (6% from Fat, 24% from Protein, 70% from Carb); 3 g Protein; 0 g Tot Fat; 0 g Sat Fat; 0 g Mono Fat; 8 g Carb; 2 g Fiber; NetCarb6; 3 g Sugar; 20 mg Calcium; 1 mg Iron; 553 mg Sodium; 0 mg Cholesterol; Weight Watchers 0 points
