WOE: JUDDD dd 200 ud 1200
Start Date: Aug 2012
I'm doing a variation of 5/2:

Monday DD
Wednesday Potato day
Friday DD

The other 4 days are eat at will, counting my calories during the week. It's so luxurious to have two UD's in a row, starting to get back into the 'low calorie' mentality instead of the crazy 'pack it all in because tomorrow I can't eat' syndrome. EOD was starting to mess with my mind that way. Probably because I don't have anything left to lose but maybe a pound or two. . . . depending on who you ask - technical numbers hubby or my mirror

Am using DD's as my weigh days to make sure I stay on track. This is my second weekend eating both days, feels really good to not have to stress on the weekend!

Here I go!! After a weekend of eating everything that wasn't nailed down, I was happy to see only a 1 lb gain. Whew!

I'm looking forward to a solid DD today. I'm combining 4:3 with Fast 5(eating window between 2-7) M-W-F will be my DD's.

I'm heading to boot camp in a few minutes....I'm sure it'll be a killer workout as usual.

Hope you all have a great start to your week!

I made it through my first DD yesterday. After struggling with hunger last night, naturally I woke up with not much of an appetite. I made breakfast anyway because I'm working and won't be home until after 4 pm.

I started off this morning with cheese-y scrambled eggs, tea with half&half, and 4 small squares of dark chocolate with almonds.

I normally don't step on the scale on Monday mornings, but after a uuad weekend I weighed myself this morning and was happy to see 135, which is the high point of my maintenance range. Still in the zone whew! Today is my weekly md and I'm aiming for 600 calories today. I also drank very little water this weekend and boy, can I tell (potty issues ), so I'm going to drink a lot of water today, to try and get things back on track!

I've been reading up on 5/2 since it's been in the media and am thinking of giving it a try. I bought the book this morning and will start reading it at night. Does anyone use the 5/2 diet along with LC on th e5 up days? Or is it all about calories?

5:2 (and JUDDD) only cares about calories. However, there are those wbo prefer to eat low carb too and you can do that as well-there's a lot of freedom to eat how you like with these plans

159.6 this morning, after two high-ish UDs. Today's my third UD, then DD tomorrow should take care of any excesses.

I haven't lost any real weight in a couple of months, but I continue to notice changes in my body, for which I'm eternally grateful.

Howdy all! Welcome to all the new faces! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Had a great DD yesterday but the scale did not reflect that...I might be retaining fluid as I have started a new workout routine...we shall see what happens later this week.

Lol, retaining cupcakes.

I had a highish DD today, not expecting a stellar weigh in tomorrow.

There's a local bakery that makes the most amazing cupcakes-they're filled with frosting And 230 calories a piece

I was aiming for a 600c md today but it's going to end up being 735 calories. Still not too bad for a md

Are they the size of a thimble? I would love to find a 230 calorie, frosting-filled cupcake!

Is anyone counting both DD and UD calories on 5:2? I am because eating LC can blunt my appetite sometimes, and I don't want to go too low.

Food log for today.
Breakfast - scrambled eggs with melted cheddar, tea with half&half, dark chocolate with almonds
Lunch - crumbled ground beef with salsa, grated cheese, and sour cream
Snack - bulletproof coffee, pumpkin cream cheese bake
1814 calories, 83 g protein, 155 g fat, 24 g carbs, 5 g fiber.

Well my md yesterday was supposed to be 600 calories, then it inched up to 735, and then it ended up being 840 calories by the end of the night But the scale was back down to 133.5 this morning so it's all good

I broke a 2 week stall and reached a new low of 187 this morning. Yay! That was great to see, especially since my DD is tomorrow. I will probably fast most of the day and have 1 meal in the late afternoon, after I get home from work.

Well today turned into an UUAD Thinking about doing the potato hack for a couple days, to give myself a mental 'reset'.

I don't really have much of a sweet tooth...but when I do, it's cake(cakie, cakie, cake) with buttercream...I've had dreams of multitudes of multi-colored cupcakes, like drifts of flowers in a garden...I made these awesome triple chocolate cupcakes with my grandgirl a while back, from America's Test Kitchen, totally loaded chocolate batter, ganache filling, chocolate buttercream frosting...she pronounced them the best thing she ever ate, and this is not a kid who gives praise....

Seriously considering switching to 5:2 or 4:3. Just don't think my DD's need to be 500 though. My JUDDD # for DD is like 336 so guessing I should stick with that and maybe 1500 to 1600 on UD's? Idk if I can wait til I lose 15 more pounds before I switch. After watching the pbs special it sounds so inviting!

This could be a long day. I woke up starving on my 2nd Fast day of the week. I'm determined to stick to my 4:3 plan this week and see what the scale says come Saturday morning. I SO want this plan to work as it's so doable!

I had a VERY active day yesterday so that probably explains why I'm extra hungry this morning. I did my boot camp workout yesterday morning and then after work I walked 9 holes of golf. I did come home and eat plenty last night, hoping it would hold me thru my fast day today. I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and put some coconut oil in the 2nd cup. Hoping that kicks in soon.

I thought about going to boot camp this morning, but woke up feeling tired and sore. I have to be to work early tomorrow, so no boot camp tomorrow either. Oh well....2 days off won't kill me.

Hope everyone has a good 5:2 or 4:3 day!

What was your UD number on JUDDD? I would go by that and not try to lower calories too much on UD's.

I think you're right about DD calories; it's fine to be under 500 on those days.

You could try it for two weeks and see if you continue to lose or stall?

I've decided to do a couple potato days, today and tomorrow. Not for weight loss, but to calm my sugar cravings. Yet another person I know was just diagnosed with breast cancer-this time my next door neighbor who's 36 years old and her children are younger than mine Her doctor told her they're seeing unprecidented numbers of younger women being diagnosed. There's so much research pointing to sugar as a possible culprit, so I'm going to start working on weaning myself off of it. I'm already high risk because of my family history, so I figure cutting back on sugar can't hurt!
