WOE: LC-My Way start 1/27 then JUDDD on 3/12 2 171.5lbs
Start Date: Jan 27,2013 at 199 for the LAST time!
Cant see my losses anymore!

Anyone else have this happen???
When I went from 196 to 170...I felt thin.I could really SEE my losses and I was happy!!
In the last 3 weeks ive lost an additional 3lbs -166 and now when I look at me I feel like I look the same as I did at almost 200
WTH?I will get on the scale and expect to see a gain because I FEEL fat and im either holding steady or still slowly losing...
I guess ive gotten use to this weight now and thats the problem It doesnt seem thin anymore.

I think you're exactly right, Kim. You've gotten used to feeling slimmer, much smaller than you were before. Now your expectations are for your goal weight, and all of a sudden you see how much bigger you are now than you will be at goal. Stupid mind games our heads play on us!

I do know what you mean.

I sometimes think I look fat still and then have pinch myself. Okay I am never going to be a tall slender model. This is me, I have always been 'shapely' and sadly no one can make me any taller, or younger.

I am not without lumps and bumps where I wish there were none.

But the rule is... Learn to Love Yourself.

You are doing a wonderful job Kim, be proud of how far you've come and look forward to the next steps. But meanwhile be kind to yourself. You deserve it.

It seems the more we lose the slower it goes at the end. This is why I started JUDDD.

You have already accomplished so much, Kissa is right in her post!

I think most of us are too hard on ourselves. I get it! i still see my 210 lb self every darn time I look in the mirror.
You have done a great job! Be kind to yourself and keep putting one foot in front of the other. If you try I will too!

This, exactly, is how I feel. There are days I think I look super fat, and I have to actually pull out a picture of me at almost 300 pounds, and remind myself how far I've come. I think that's normal for many of us, and it sucks, but it is what it is.

I just wrote a big long post, and it is gone!!! arghhhhh. So to sum it up, I know where you're coming from, I have gone from the obese range, to the barely overweight range, and sometimes I still feel like that obese lady. Our weight loss is gradual, so we don't suddenly feel skinny anymore. We are wearing smaller clothes, so they feel the same, KWIM? But you are so cute and have done terrific! We just have to be not so hard on ourselves

Totally can relate! I was thinking this exact thing about a month ago, not feeling thinner but instead seeing my 198 pound self. I had to pull out pictures of that time to get a perspective but YES I totally understand.

WOE: JUDDD FOR LIFE!
Start Date: Jan 2012. Name Kimberly
Yupper.. I have more "head fat" days then thin ones.. I walk past a mirror and see no changes.. and i somtimes think.. how can i EVER trust what i see in the mirror?? Will i ever be able to use that as a guide to staying on track? Well thats a huge NO!!.. The mirror has lyed to me for many years that how i got to be so large in the first place. So i will now only trust what my scale says to keep me in check..I have to find somthing that will hold me accountable to keep the weight off for good.

Oh, no! This is NOT what I want to hear. When I get down to 167 I want to feel thin all the time.

I do think it's a MIND thing. What we REMEMBER is how we were. It's newer how you ARE currently. Like seeing someone new you haven't seen in years. You see them today and then maybe again tomorrow, both times expecting them the way they were. That's how it was for me. In 2002 when I lost the bulk of my weight. I didn't GET it. Once at Kohls I was by a mirror and even said Excuse me to my reflection because I didn't recognize myself. Kissa is right, we have to Learn to Love Ourself.

Everyone is different, Sirtain. At 207+ (not sure because I wouldn't get on a scale for years), I thought I'd be happy to just be the weight I am now at least. And I am, much happier than I was. However, pictures tell me I'm still overweight and have a long way to go. You have a lot less to lose after you get to 167, so maybe you WILL feel thin.

Kim, I know how you feel!!

ETA: I often don't recognize myself now...not because I'm smaller than I thought, but much bigger than I thought! It works both ways...in my head I've never gained much over 140 (which I used to think was fat), so who is that fat lady in the picture?!

Before Christmas, I think there was a thread about becoming squidgy just before losing inches. Last month, I remember looking quite pudgy for a couple of days before having a whoosh. So, I think it's maybe something to do with our bodies adjusting.

There is also a theory about losing some weight, then the fat cells temporarily filling up again as if they need to reassure themselves it's safe to be at the lower weight.

So, maybe not all in the mind!

Thank you so much Flossyliz...that is a great point.

Also, the skin tightens up gradually. So, when you think you look "pudgy" after having released some weight, it may just be that the skin has yet to tighten up in those areas. You may look thinner at the same weight the next week or month as that skin has become tighter. Exercise and muscle tone makes a difference with this as well.
