DD Friday - plan? We can do this

DD's on Friday are always tough for me. I think it's the "celebrate" type mode!

stir fry with egg 90c
salad with cottage cheese, tomato, salsa 105c

No clue about dinner tonight. Maybe some chick pea stir fry 270c or soup 280c

Hopefully this will sustain me!

Here's to ROCKING this DD FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!

Fasting until tonight because we've been invited to friend's Balkan evening with various yoghurt demos and samplings - that will easily be my entire allotment for the day although I'm going to make sure that I don't go above 450kcals if I can (I strongly suspect that Balkan dairy products only come in the full-fat variety, no skimmed milk at all ).

So, tomorrow is definitely a MD to compensate a little although I hate doing that on a day with sports in like kayaking.

I started my day out at 3:30 am when I had muscles spasming in both legs that went unrelieved for over an hour (potassium and magnesium tablets), until I finally succumbed and ate a banana. While it was not how I intended to start my DD, I am just thankful for the relief that it provided. Also, it happened at the start of my DD, not at the end, so it doesn't blow the day calorie wise as well.

I am having coffee with a tsp of CO and will hold off food wise until dinner tonight other than having some broth with gluc powder at lunch.

Dinner will be salad with a small portion of very lean eye roast.

Enjoy your day, JB's!

Ouch, sorry to hear you had spasms. Nothing like being woke up in the middle of the night with that going on.

Good morning JB's! Yes, I'm not a fan of Friday's and Sunday's being a DD. I always look forward to the rotation change after Sunday. Saturday DD's don't bother me so much as I usually really busy with errands, laundry, yard work, etc... Oh well push forward and through it.

B: Coffee w/ ff crm
L: Water or tea
D: Greek yogurt, black eyed peas, or potato. Not sure which yet.

Have a great DD everyone!

I missed my yogurt yesterday (too full, and then I fell asleep on the couch) so today will be:
yogurt
spinach salad with 1 bacon, 1/2 hard egg, vinegar
more yogurt

Feeling good this morning, because my after-up-day weights are steadily bumping downward after my frozen yogurt incident earlier in the week. I love looking at my chart and seeing the line move DOWN!

So far, so good!

B: Coffee w/tbsp half and half, sunflower seeds (130 calories)
L: Water.
D: Unsure. So long as I keep the entire count to under 500, I'll be happy. Today is Opening Day for the Tigers, and as I work downtown, I will likely try and meet up after work with friends who are having fun tailgating, etc. Another DD challenge to stay on track!

Hope everyone enjoys their day!!

I still get leg cramps too-- started with LC nine years ago, and continues off and on. I literally feel your pain!

B: lemon water, vitamins
L: not sure-- going out with colleagues, will have to find a salad that's ok
D: once I know what happened at lunch, I'll be able to plan better for dinner. Might just be a huge yogurt?

Happy weekend! I have a big plan for Saturday, having people over, going all culinary on them and trying new stuff!

Well, I have been reading the thread about bullet proof coffee and I thought I would try it out. I did one tbl. of coconut oil, one tbl. of butter and some caramel davinci. Then mixed until frothy. It does taste really good but that gives me 200 calories right off the bat! But if it keeps me from being hungry as it does for many of you, it will be well worth it. It better, that's all my calorie allotment for today! We shall see.

My cranky mood is affecting my DD.

So far not TOO out of control but I'll have to watch the rest of the day carefully.

1/3 bagel w ff cream cheese (125)
Magic pop (15)
One dark chocolate (15)
Fiber plus bar (90)

It will be interesting to see how the bpc works for you both. One being the tsp and the other the tablespoon. I would think the tsp. version although lower in calories doesn't have the at needed to sedate your appetite? Please post your results if you get a chance. I would like to try the coffe, but I am waiting for my cow to freshen in a few weeks to make fresh butter

Homemade veggie soup sounds yummy, Flossy!
Today is the usual dd fare for me: boiled egg whites, Scandinavian bran crispbread, gelatin gummies and a salad at bed time. Just made another pot of coffee, hands are so cold. Keeping it under 200 calories.

so far just coffee, then coffee with cream, about 7 baby dill pickles and a bite of rotisserie chicken. The cream in my coffee was about 90 calories, but I don't ever count cream(shhh...don't tell anyone) So I am at about 60 calories.
Dinner might be a spinach salad w/chicken, bacon, avocado and a few almonds

Shep, this is what I was going to recommend... and you'd think it doesn't have the staying power, but it's the fats PLUS the caffeine that seemed to work. I don't seem to need it anymore, but I liked it when I was doing it.

Ok, you asked -- oh, a note: the husband of my friend is type 2 diabetic, and takes insulin shots. He's not grossly overweight (he's a little short, but he's just sort of stocky looking), but he does not want to change his diet to manage his diabetes and is strongly considering BYPASS SURGERY (on advice of his brother, the doctor) to "eliminate" his diabetes.

Needless to say, I tend to cook "lower carb" for them, to prove that you CAN make the change to this lifestyle and still enjoy food.

  • My friend is bring the appetizer/pre dinner munchies, so I don't know what that will be.
  • Marinated roast lamb-- boneless leg of lamb, marinated overnight in yogurt, cumin, coriander, garlic. AMAZING... from a book of LC gourmet recipes.
  • fauxtatoes maybe with broccoli so they're green
  • ricotta spinach gnocchi in brown butter (dh is allergic to tomatoes...) -- there's a recipe section in my calorie tracker, and this popped up the other day. It's not LC, but not that bad either, and the joy of JUDDD is not having to be strictly LC, so I'm going to try it.
  • Dessert: Cheri from this site posted the MOST amazing LC cheesecake recipe... I halved it (b/c it's HUGE) and made a real graham cracker crust, then melted some easter chocolates and put that as a layer over the graham.
Then baked the cheesecake on it... then I'll add ANOTHER layer of milk chocolate ganache to the top (and it will also cover a few small cracks )
  • wine wine wine, and dessert wine.

ok, and now, I get to have my DD dinner of salad with grilled chicken, woo!

Lunch turned out to be a 100cal green lettuce salad with ff dressing at a bbq type restaurant, but at least they have it posted to their site with nutrition info, so I felt safe ordering that, and I got to eat with my colleagues.

The waitress at this place, is a total stalker. She decided years ago that I look like Ricki Lake and now, each and EVERY time I go in there, over the past 8 YEARS, she comments on it... in a creepy way. Doesn't matter if I'm with my DH or work people or what.

Ok, that's it for now... try not to drool on your computers, they'll short out

Thanks Luv2eat, the soup was good! I put in what I thought was a good tspn of coriander powder, then realised it was cayenne pepper. I've been lovely and warm all evening!
I've some left for tomorrow and am looking forward to having it with fresh crusty rolls and lots of butter.

I sunstituted lemon juice for the cocoa in my glucpud, so saved 20 cals. Also had a cuppa less than predicted. So, a 315 cal day today. I'm happy with that!

So I made it until 4:00pm PST without being hungry at all. Now I am slightly hungry, growling is just starting so I'm drinking more water and more water! I am going to try not to have anything else but if I do I'll have some yogurt later. I only used the tsp of each of the oils because I wasn't sure if a tbls would be too much for my empty stomach. I might try using tbls of each if it helps to keep the hungries away longer.

Guac is one my my favorite things, I just had some ( on my DD)! And am thinking I'm going to invite some friends over soon and have a Mexican fiesta. I just love it! Another of my fave Mexican fiesta recipes is haystacks. They are crispy corn tortilla(like tostada shell) topped with chili(I like mine sweet), cheese, chopped pecans, coconut, lettuce and tomatoes. Can you tell I am hungry?
