What a wonderful achievement, 30 pounds is a great weight loss!

I am just starting JUDDD, about 1.5 weeks in right now, and can only hope that I do as well as you have. Slow and steady [B]WILL[B] will win the race everytime.

They barely make me 5'7"- seriously
They are basically a necessity at 5'2". I occassionally wear flats or during a hectic meeting take them off and then someone automatically looks down and says "Were you always that short?"

Soren! Congrats on one year...it must be working for you. I've been poking around the boards, trying to learn and get inspired. I've considered going BACK on Atkins with DH, but I stall pretty badly. Then I could mix it up with Lets Do Lunch, which works pretty well for me, too, and I love having fruit and beans and fruit and corn and popcorn..and fruit. I've also considered the 8-hour diet, but it seems like it might be a bit over-hyped. This WOE looks doable...if I were to try it, I might do "normal food" instead of LC for a while, just to see what happens.

Anyway, I'll keep reading, and pick something soon. My knees would very much like to support less of me.

It was nice to see your smiling face in your picture...you're just as pretty as you were back in OZ! ;-)

I do JUDDD with a low-ER carb focus, but definintely not low carb 100%, and definitely not high carb all the time either. I'm really enjoying the flexibility, and I just accept that higher carb meals might result in some water-weight gain.

Overall, the flexibility of the JUDDD plan, my vastly improved mental and emotional relationship with food, the fact that there's no good or bad food, and the joy that comes from being able to enjoy some family recipes-- all are reasons for me to continue on JUDDD, and continue to evolve it in my life in a way that works for me.

omg... Oz... what a nightmare that was! Glad I learned some lessons, and on a positive note, did ramp up on LC very well with all the knowledge and folks there.

Soren I am so sorry, I missed it!

Happy belated JUDDDiversary! You are an amazing BUDDD and have had a wonderful year when you consider how much you travel.

I feel that this year you are taking control of that too. And I so glad you aren't considering surgery. A dear friend of mine has been in ICU for over a week after it. She lives overseas ( with excellent health care) and her brother and parents flew out there, they thought they were going to lose her.

omg Cindy, that's awful.

I was horrified when my mom turned to me with the look like, so? And she thought that the $$$ was what was holding me back... I couldn't say in front of my cousin what I really thought, you know? AND, that my mother thinks I'm that desperate, at my last straw? not by half!

Hoping the best for your friend, b/c it's just so awful to have something you are counting on to give you *good* health turn into a health nightmare... sigh.

re: travel. Not sure if I'll have a handle on how much/if/when I travel, but I simply *must* devise strategies so that I can stay on plan and continue to lose (or at least, not gain) when I do. I forsee at least another week per month, probably for the rest of the year, maybe with a month or 2 off... There will be at least 1 conference, where our company forces those of us traveling for attendance to only take our meals at the conference when offered, to cut down on costs (i.e. B and L on Days 1-2, B-L-D at the PARTY on Day 3, B on Day 4)... and you know what breakfast looks like at these things

Ok, I'm ranting and it's not even May yet I'm just keyed up to tackle this area that is causing perfect JUDDD bliss to elude me but with all ya'lls help, I WILL SUCCEED!!!

That is so scary, Cindy. My best wishes for her recovery. The lengths we will go to for weight loss. I am so thankful to have found JUDDD and not to have had to consider surgery.

My prayers are with your friend too. My primary care physician was really pushing WLS, what with my spine, arthritis and diabetes, but I'm so glad I didn't go that route.

Soren, my co-worker gave me a packet of true lemon today. I just read your post about it the other night. I want to get some before I leave for Florida to throw in my carry on.
