Why do you pay for them to get all their shots, Carly? Is it in case you or DW get contractable rabies?

ETA: Our cats could jump up to the elevator button. Especially if it were strictly forbidden.

Have a lovely trip and vow renewal Dawn! Can't wait to see pictures!

You guys are cracking me up with your wee and poo talk! I vote for training all dogs and cats to use the toilet and that includes flushing and putting the seat back down if need be. Of course, I've never accomplished that myself. The training part. I can indeed use the toilet all by myself.

Having recently finished potty training my son, I'm here to tell you this is an admirable skill. One I'm sure those in your social circles IRL really appreciate you having.

I bet Kiera is beside herself with excitement.

Well the cats are safely in their cattery. They have big indoor/outdoor cage right next to a huge field with chickens literally an inch away. They aren't going to be bored. It is such a lovely place I don't know why I fret.

I just checked the weather where we are going in Turkey and there be highs of 26C to 28C with sunshine the whole time, and light winds. I can't wait.

Better pack.

What to do when 'life' gets in the way?

DH and I are on induction phase (I have done 6 DDs, DH 5). Tomorrow is supposed to be my last DD, his second to last, but our friends have invited us, last minute, to go out of town this weekend and I don't think that doing a DD is realistic. I hate to decline the offer because of induction but I also don't want us to ruin our induction phase. If we do go, would we resume induction upon our return or would we just move on to the next phase and not worry about the few days missed?

I think you could do it either way, honestly. Whatever feels right for you both. The beauty is that you don't have to decline things like this. Enjoy and just jump back in when you return. Have a great time!

Enjoy your weekend away without going overboard and then simply carry on with your rotations. You may see a bounce on the scales but that will soon pass. JUDDD is sooo forgiving.

All set, just have to get there now. So happy.

Sorry, I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. So there is no need to continue induction when we return? We have been planning to move straight from induction to 5/2, but with being away this weekend can we just go from vacation straight into 5/2 without finishing the last DD (2 DDs for DH) of induction? I should mention that we are doing this for the long term health benefits and not necessarily to lose pounds. Thanks - sorry to be so confusing.

Yes, in fact I don't believe 5/2 has an induction. If you really want to get the sirts going, "induction" or eod may be necessary for another two weeks, but I'm no expert. If you were going to continue with JUDDD, it wouldn't be a problem either. But as a weight loss tool, or woe (way of eating) if you want to jump straight into 5/2, that's fine too.

About 78-80-ish degrees.
I listen to a Canadian radio station, I've had to get used to metric.

ok so I got my test results. Its taken me a while to post because I was and still am trying to come to grips of it all. I have been researching and trying to learn about it but I dont know its all to much.....

I dont have PCOS, or thyroid issues.....I am in premature menopause. I am 38! I dont want more kids, but the idea that that phase of my life is gone at a young age is just confusing now.

My gynie said its like running along and then bam into a wall. She said it all hits hard and fast when its premature. All this time I thought it was my thyroid! They have the same symptoms! She estimates I have been "getting ready" for menopause by my levels for altleast a year or two. She said most women will still have "periods" but they arent really anymore. Its the last ditched effort by your body to keep trying. She said it even though I still bleed from time to time, my blood work confirms its offical.....She said my fibroids are all gone...she said thats when she flipped to the blood work and seen the estrogen levels. She said the fibroids were most likely caused when my body was trying last year to continue normal...thats why everything went nuts and I needed the D&C. But my estrogen is so low that it couldnt feed the fibroids anymore so they shrunk to nothing.

Anyways my estrogen levels are 15 and my FSH is 47. Everything else is normal except for my cholesterol (267) and my blood sugar (5.6) is a concern. I have an appointment May 2 with my general doctor to have those levels looked at and monitored. She said unfortunatly with premature menopause, those levels will raise and will most likely need medicine intervention because diet and exercise alone wont help those numbers. I am now at a greater risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Normal things that go with menopause but because I am going to go less time in life with my estrogen to help me that raises my I better keep a watch of things. I have to go in 6 months for more blood work, but she expects it to be same news. She said once your FSH gets above 30-40 at my age...it doesnt lower. And once your estrogen goes below 25, it normally doesnt raise with out added estrogen. And there isnt anything that will fix it....a pretty much what done is done...

She said its normal to go through a "mourning" period which is been me for last 2 days of just crying at a drop of a hat. I am just shocked and hating me at the moment. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to hear that. She even admitted she didnt expect that either......I am just at a loss of words at the moment. I need to wrap my head around this, then stand tall and live my life. After my "mourning" I guess....

I am going to full steam ahead with JUDDD on monday. Back to my little journal and making the calories count. Not this estimate thing I have been doing. Gosh she did make me feel better when she told me that sudden weight gain was all related to the premature menopause. I was most upset about that. I told her how hard I worked to get below 160 and was running and them boom....weight started creeping and I couldnt lose it, I hit the wall...my body finally realized.....it all makes sense now! I know the losing what I lost in the first place is gonna be a battle but I will succeed...I am not ready to throw in the towel on it! Especially now when it means my health for sure!

Sorry the post was long.....like I said trying to grip everything at the moment.....

Ah, Tanya, I'm sorry. That is awful.
It does, however, sound like you've found yourself a decent doctor who is going to work with you to manage your levels with you in mind as a partner in the process, and not someone to just be dictated to!
Hang in there, take the time you need emotionally and jump back into JUDDD when you're ready. You know we'll be here for you.

Tanya. I haven't had the extensive work you've had done, but I am definitely peri-menopausal if not meno fully. You have had children, so even though that is over, you have fulfilled that part of your life that you wanted. I never had children, and was always ambivalent about it. It got too late, and now I don't have a choice. I don't regret it at all, and I don't know what kind of advice I can give to someone who is a mother ...be thankful is all I can say.

Tanya, I am so sorry that you got bad news, but very pleased that it wasn't worse. You scared me for a minute! What about hormone replacement therapy? Maybe to minimize the "brick wall" impact? Is that an option for you?

you are such a sweet person to us here and an amazing mom. We are kind of at the same stage in life. I just turned 39 and my dr wants to run that FSH level because some symptoms I've been having including a sudden stop of my period. I'm not sure what it'll show but I really feel like I'm going into a different time of life. It doesn't help that my oldest will turn 21 and my baby will start school.
Im sorry to talk about me, just understand the emotions. Sending lots of hugs

Thanks! I don't know why I am as upset with this as I am.....I prefer to try to go at this with no meds. All the replacement therapy has huge risks. Looking for natural options first.

No please talk about you too!!! I was hoping to find someone going through this too! If you get a fsh test also get estrogen. Fsh has to be a certain point and estrogen another for you to know for sure. Well you should get a complete panel because like my gynie said at our age it's always a good idea. But also to check thyroid because symptoms are a lot the same! Like I said I thought that was what was wrong in first place. Let me know how it goes!

She did check my thyroid levels because I have hypo and they came back normal. With all my symptoms I really thought my levels were off. I'll make sure she checks the estrogen too. Thanks for the suggestion. I want to handle things as natural as possible too.
My sister who is 15 months younger has symptoms too

estradiol levels about 30 or below -- in conjunction with a high FSH level (high in this case, meaning in the post-menopausal range, i.e. 30-40 or higher) -- is considered menopausal.

Is what I found that closely explained what my gynie said to me. Thats why also testing the Estrogen is important to determine for sure. I know she tested other things but she said those two numbers are what gave me the diagnosis. I guess when you go through premature menopause there is no perimenopause.....its just the wall! There is little info out there about premature menopause!

Katie-

Please don't take this as me minimizing your emotions......you said you were looking for anyone else that has gone through this.....and that's me!

I went through this much younger than you, but it didn't bother me the same way....I chose not to have children and, quite frankly, not having TOM and all of its issues was welcome. I haven't done any hormone therapy due to side effects, etc.

tofu!! Its not minimizing my emotions!!! I know we all go through things differently!!! I was just shocked! I mean I went in for one thing and it was something totally different! I think its more of a scared to know that heart disease and stroke and all that is a greater risk to me!! I come from a family where all these things run amock! I guess instead of looking at the now I am looking in the future! Thats where my emotions are hitting me, Even though I know I can change most of that by diet and exercise! Dont get me wrong I think I will love knowing that TOM is gone....its everything else that worries me!!

See thats why I love my JUDDD BUDDD's I know there is always someone to turn too!!
