I was a dancer all my life till my mid 20's so sometimes I still stand in 3rd, 4th or 5th position I tend to tap dance while waiting for the elevator in my buiding... did I mention I have ADD...

Dance does great things for one's posture...my daughter was in ballet maybe 2 1/2 years, but people still ask her if she's a dancer

The posture I have to thank my spine surgeon for. When he did the 8 hour lumbar fusion he corrected the scoliosis, too. The 2 plates and 10 screws keeps me standing pretty straight although if you look at me head on I'm still pretty crooked. My right shoulder is quite a bit lower than my left. I'll strike that pose more often since I appear to have good posture

WARNiNG
Ouch...I have scoliosis too...but i'm all slouchy anyway. I can't tuck in a shirt cause the seams of my pants never sit right...not that i would tuck these days. MY neck is really jacked up, the xray looks like a jenga game...the discs are mostly gone. But if I got it fused I don't think I could drive, I can't judge distance in mirrors, i have to turn and look.

Is everybody sick of my smilies yet??

I've decided this week to do a grocery fast...I have a ridiculous amount of food in my house! I live alone and rarely have company, but I'm always stopping at the store for some little ingredient, and then walk out with whatever's on sale. Nothing ever really goes to waste, I have two dogs, a cat, chickens and compost bins, but I could be spending my money on better things than expensive pet food and fertilizer!

Anybody else have this problem?

Carly you look wonderful and I am jealous!!!!!

Son's results from the sonogram was today. Surgery is scheduled April 24th. I took him and got him the blood work and pre-registered today. His doc said he WILL NOT put a mesh screen in the area, so he will not require another surgery. Doc said once is enough for a teenage boy! So that will make this all an outpatient thing. Doc said 30-45 mins for the surgery, 1 hour pre-op, 1-2 hours post op and home! Doc said only way that an overnight is a promise is if he cant pee after surgery. I did laugh, doc was explaining things and I started with the million questions again, and my son started squirming and the doc and I both noticed. The doc looked him in the eye and said "Your mom loves you, thats a good thing these days. She is asking all the right questions for you." Then my son really got embarrassed! lol!!!!

Gotta get through this week and next now!!!

I live alone too and I tried to do a grocery fast last month and it lasted oh, maybe 4 days.
I'm always picking up something or other and my freezer and fridge are stuffed with food. I could probably eat out of my fridge and pantry for a good 2 months.
I have no idea why I do this.

Lynn, love the smileys! You and Melinda are our smiley inspirations. The grocery fast is a great idea. I have lots of canned goods stocked up, some of which I'm not sure why I ever bought in the first place. Maybe I should concentrate on eating that stuff up.

Tanya, I'm so glad this will soon be done and over for DS. I know you'll all feel better then. I know you're looking forward to getting your own situation all figured out too.

I had a little epiphany this morning. Forgive me, but I can be quite dense sometimes. I've added just about anything and everything back to my diet by now, at least occasionally. I realized at the grocery store that I can work in Grape Nuts cereal, and I was just so excited! Duh ! The only drawback is that it gives me horrendous gas! But I'll try and eat it when I know I'll be around home and can "deal" with it. Why is it I'm still surprised when I realize I can have something I haven't had in years?

I know!! Tomorrow is all the blood work, sonograms, and mammogram. I am scared to death! I have done alot of praying last few days, which I think is turning into begging for it to be all right.

I swear I replied to this earlier...musta gotten distracted by the Boston disaster....OMG

I think i do it because...i can!

I was pretty poor until i went to nursing school...at 28. I'd been raising two kids, who now as adults remember eggs and toast and fried potatoes are comfort food...and that thursday night pancakes were a treat...they never knew that was all we had!

But i think it's getting out of hand, my cupboards and freezers are stuffed, and I'm not really sure what's even in there!!! At LEAST two months worth!

i've been watching the online grocery store ads more closely, trying to figure out how often things i need go "on sale", so i don't buy a bunch that gets stale when the same "sale" will be going on next month,,,know what i mean?

certainly nothing wrong with a full freezer...but when you pull stuff out that's too damaged to eat...money wasted...

No but my Mother did. She could have lived a year on the food she had. Two upright freezers and two refrigerators full. Plus she had a garden and froze all of her veggies. Pantry was full too. She had enough tuna and peanut butter to last a LONG time. She didn't even eat peanut butter. I asked why on earth she had peanut butter. She said Mabel liked peanut butter. Mabel cleaned Mother's house. Plus she would give food to her elderly friends that lived on SS and could not afford treats. My Mother had a good heart.

Vacation report

We made it back from California mostly in one piece. My darling son decided to share his GI upset with the rest of the travelers so guess where I spent all night last night? Ug - awful! However, the upside was that my weight this morning was identical to Thursday before I left. Although, honestly I'd have rathered a pound or two as opposed to no sleep and
Somehow, in the last 10 minutes before we boarded our plane, I managed to lose my wallet in the Orange County Airport. I was on the plane when I realized it so I busted my way through all the people trying to board. No luck. Got a call this morning that the airline has it and its currently winging its way back to me via FedEx. Relief but there were several hours of severe stress.
Other than that, the trip was quite lovely. The pics are of Sam in the First Aid unit with his personal visit from Mickey & Goofy and also of him meeting Rapunzel & Eugene, his 2 favorite non-CARS characters.

We were all home by time we got sick, so no Disney time lost. Since its all working out I suppose once my poor tummy recovers some & I have my wallet back, I will look back on this and laugh

We didn't do the character present. I was going to on Saturday but then he got sick and took a 5 hour nap in the middle of the day, so that threw all our plans out the window. I think it would have been fun but it wasn't meant to be this time. We also did not get the autographed photo, but did get the silhouette.

You're showing great fortitude of spirit there Pleased to read that the rest of the Disney experience was as up to par as it could be, given your little one's illness.
