I also picked up Mark Lauren's book, You are Your Own Gym, and I also put a library hold on his new one, geared towards women. 3 days a week/30 minutes a time and no equipment-wall, chair and floor. Very excited to start this plan next week!

So my exercise regiment will be-walking at least 6 miles a week, pushup challenge 3 days a week (7 week plan), and then Mark's new workout book for women 3 days a week, rest on Sunday
I'm fascinated by this Sara! I've bought and sold, donated or thrown away so much fitness equipment over the years, it makes me sick to think about it! VHS, DVD, treadmill, stationary bike, mini-trampoline, Tony Little Gazelle. You name it, I've done it, and hung clothes on it! So this is right up my alley. I want to do exercise that requires nothing but perhaps some handweights or resistance bands.

I found the new one for women at my library and also put a hold on it! Thanks for the heads up. Let's compare notes when we get it.

Sounds good! I read a bunch of reviews and both of his books have gotten pretty good feedback. I also liked how one reviewer said he comes across as really respecting women and none of that in your face/meanness that seems to be the in thing right now (biggest loser etc). If my library hold does'nt come in by Monday I'm going to just buy it-super excited to start the program!

I've got the 5 really big miles dvd. It's pretty good. I like her workouts. They get my heart rate up, but it's not so intense that it seems impossible. Tried that insanity workout, and almost threw up after 15 min.

OMG,I had to muck out 5 stalls today(about 6 wheel barrow full of crud) and then clean 3 20 foot pens before feeding and watering 6 horses. Then hiking 1/2 mile down hill to lower pasture and repeat above duties before climbing back up the hill and home.I'm pooped out and counting it as exercise for the day!

I don't have the guts to try insanity. I loved Chalean Extreme (really changed my body) and even did P90X (wasn't a fav but I did graduate)

Yep, stall cleaning in and of itself is a workout! Especially if you're really scraping them all the way down! I've started going out in the pasture and grooming down my 4 in the evenings (weather permitting that is). It's good for them and me. I usually just brush them down before riding, but am trying to do this more. Picking out hooves is good for that too. Especially when you've got a decent number of horses. lol I thought about going out and saddling up each one and riding them all for about 15 min each. Just the tacking process should burn 100 calories! My saddle is HEAVY! Anyway, just saw your post and couldn't agree more. You do that enough and you'll disappear!

Idk if I could even do P90X! I think I'm just to lazy to be honest. I'm sure the results are amazing, but man it's grueling! I do a push up and say, "Owuh" that hurts! I'm a whimp.

I have a Polar FT4 and LOVE it. I've read the HRMs with a chest strap/watch combo are more accurate. The FT4 has that and is more economical than most. It's easy to use, unobtrusive, and I feel like it's accurate. I paid around $80 for mine, but I think you can get better deals watching the ads and/or checking for specials online.

I haven't used mine in a long time. I need to get it out, give it a new battery and strap it on for my walking DVD workouts. I have the one with the watch and band around your chest. When I used it several years ago, I really liked it.
