Hey gang! Thanks for the support

My UD yesterday got away from me just a bit (like a 2nd breakfast at the airport lounge, just bc it was there... What am I, a hobbit? Tricksy breakfasteses... )

Today was my dd and it was GREAT!!! Yay me!

Lemon water ( no need for true lemon, I have a fridge and brought my reamer ) with some mio
Coke zero
Skipped any food at lunch
Had a mini v8, just 1, around 3pm when the cookie platter arrived.
I took one for tomorrow if I want it

Just had dinner , as planned above. Will have my yogurt a bit later.

I feel so accomplished!

Great job, Soren! Planning is key, don't you think? And you've really done it. That'll be the next step for you, being able to take these trips in stride with no stress, and not gain....maybe even lose! You've got this!

Hi all - I wanted to bump this thread and check back in with some GOOD news for once. I seem to have broken my stall. (shhh - don't want to jinx it). The DD-MD-UD rotation is doing wonders for me. In 4 rotations (12 days) I have lost over 5 pounds. I don't know if this is the answer for other slow pokes but I would encourage you to try it if the EOD rotation is just not working for you. I can't believe it took me this long to figure this out - doh, but I am glad I did and I am hopeful that it will keep on working!! Join me if you want to. I'd love additional feedback on the impact as well as any tips or tricks to keep the momentum up! Here's to 3 day rotations!!

TJ- it is 3 day rotations all the time, not just weekends, correct? This is interesting to me because I have had those DD shivers quite a lot lately, which, according to some sources, indicates a slowing metabolism. That of course worried me! I wondered if I should shake things up a little.
Also- I have work travel coming up and I won't have a kitchen available so am at the mercy of provided lunches (usually sandwiches) and whatever dinner I found out somewhere. working in some mid-days could help take the pressure off.
Thanks for posting!

Have any other slow losers felt that they get that DD cold feeling a lot?

TJ!!! That is such great news! I think I may try this too! It actually equals out to less UDs, right?

Hey Phoenix - A lot of people get DD shivers and seem to think they foretell a loss. When I have gotten excessively cold on DDs I did seem to register a loss the next day. My problem was that on UD I would bounce up whatever I previously lost and just kept bouncing in the same general 3 pound range over months.

My body seems to need the intervening MD to "set" the loss. I now follow a DD-MD-UD rotation that is has been providing >1 pound loss on most rotations and even more overall. This last rotation I under-ate my UD (not on purpose, just ran out of time) so am doing even more MDs to get back to the 3 day rotation. I want to have some UDs to EAT, get the Sirt benefits and also am mindful of keeping my metabolism stoked so that when I get to maintenance I don't have to subsist on very few calories to maintain. This is all very new and a work in progress but I see very positive early results. I am thrilled!

Sorry - forgot to answer that. Yes, I am trying to stick to 3 day rotations all the time. I can and will throw in another MD if I need to change rotations for an event.

I think I see the science in this TJ. You are actually eating less calories overall, by doing 3-day rotations. I want to try it too, but will have to wait because I have plans for next week on my first UD (Tues.), which would be a DD if I switch to these rotations. I'm glad it's working for you, and it may be the next thing I try too!

Hey there Librarygirl - it would be awesome to have JBs on this tweak with me. Theoretically it should be the same calories as EOD because the MD should be neutral IKNWIM??? However with less UDs in the picture there are fewer opportunities to become UUADs so maybe less calories overall, IDK?? I really do think there is something to this unscientific theory of mine that my body needs the MD to "set" the DD loss. With an immediate UD I just seemed to be giving back the DD loss over and over and over again.

You're right!! I did the math and the calories are the same. I do see what you mean exactly about the UD cancelling out the DD. I have to have very strict UDs for the numbers to stick and usually only end up losing about 2 lbs a month. MDs might make for less UUADs, which are probably what derails me too.

TJ, this is intriguing to me, too. I don't know if I can keep up with the drastic swings. Having that MD in there would bring relief from too many DDs. DDs can play with my head.
I'd like to try this out myself.

I know we're all different with our calorie needs but could you please share the approximate calories you'd be eating for each DD/MD/UD?

eta: I just worked out an example for myself: 500/1200/2200 = 3900 x 10/30 = 1300 calories/day ... yup, that could work for me. It actually works out to be 50 cals less per day over 30 days.

I like your idea very much!

My calories are 1816 (UD), 363 (DD) and 1090 (MD). The average daily cals are 1193. I did my cals on the JUDDD calculator (60% for MD).

I just did mine on the calculator ... 426 DD ~ 1277 MD ~ 2129 UD ... sounds very doable.

I've been shooting for as low as possible on DD
DD- range from 175 -205
MD - range from 875 - 1140
UD - range from 1670 - 1900

I am excited to have friends on this specific trail of this journey!! Should we start a 3 day rotation thread?

OK, my UD is 1727 and my DD is 345. But I don't know how to figure out my MD. Do I just pick a number in between?

Usually to find your MD calories you add your UD cals and DD cals and divide the total by 2. So yours would be 1036.

This should also equal the 60% range at the calculator.

I have been going slightly higher on MDs because I have been on a good exercise tear this month. But the interesting thing is that for the most part UDs have been under control and even a bit low. So I am not getting a huge calorie spread from day to day but I am losing!!! The SIRT benefits are still important to me though and I don't want to train my metabolism towards a low calorie count so will be taking my ptero and enjoying my UDs and shooting for mostly very low DDs.

Okay, I'm bumping this thread up before we Slowpokes forget about it!

I just posted my weight for the Group Month April total. I went down 5.5 pounds, which is very satisfying. I have a lot to lose- this doesn't take me down a size, or make me look much smaller, but it will all add up, little by little.
