I can sub in cottage cheese if I can't make it to lunch and my salad.

Hoping for under 600c

Its my first DD. Ugh. Not sure what I will do. I woke up all drooly. Is that because I secretly know I shall starve today? Probably string cheese breakfast, boiled egg lunch, and tiny chicken salad on celery for dinner. If I stay low carb maybe I won't be too hungry???

Planning a cinema trip this evening (can't get tickets for Wizard of Oz, so we'll see DH's choice, Welcome to the Punch).

B: 2x idli with smoked tomato (approx. 140kcals)
L: 200ml congee with stock powder (approx. 50kcals)
D: 150g hot potato with vinegar and dill (approx. 125kcals)

I have enough wiggle room for a congee snack if I need it. Day 17 of the potato (and rice) hack. I should have eaten potato for breakfast but I still had idli batter from yesterday and it doesn't keep beyond 48hrs.

Andrea, just try to stay busy, that really helps! Also it helps to remind yourself that it is just one day, tomorrow you can eat whatever you want(in moderation).Drink your fluids and enjoy non-eating activities.
You will be amazed in a week how much easier it gets. There is something very satisfying about controlling when and what goes into your mouth. The control you will feel over your woe truly is magical.

It's a type of red wine also called Syrah, but most of the new world (i.e. australia where they make it really wonderfully, new zealand, and US/Canada, call it Shiraz).

Andrea!

Here's my DD today:

B: finally going to have that tea I was talking about 2 days ago. don't ask.
vitamins, pteroblue, water water water
L: cabbage soup (53)
D: 1 low fat/cal sausage (170), shirataki noodles (40), chunky salsa (25)
ff greek yogurt (100), double fruit jam (20)

I think I'm still left with around 50 if I want something else at some point... and I usually eat some pickled veggies and don't count the numbers on those

Eggs, eggs and more eggs I have some that I need to use up and I've got a crazy schedule, so I hard boiled some last night and I'll grab them in between running around like a crazy lady So far I've had one and won't be home till late afternoon, so I'll probably end up eating 3-4 total.

I got a bit hungry earlier than I expected so I broke down and had half of an oikos greek yogurt for 60 cals before lunch. My lunch was MUCH more filling than I expected it to be, so I may just have half a wrap for dinner to balance out the cals. So far, so good.

Good morning ladies!! Potatoes are on the menu for me today. I will wait until around dinner time and use my perfect fry maker thing to cut 3 small/med peeled potatoes into french fries :-) lots of lemon water and tea until then..... I need to try and get rid of some of this TOM bloat before my weigh in at work tomorrow!

Sher!! Hang in there!! Measure, try on clothes, look for other NSVs!!! Your body is just catching up, you've done so great so far, give it a bit of time!!

B: Coffee w CO & SF vanilla syrup, leftover Oolong tea from last night
L/S: Leaving for the barn at 10:30, will be there most of the day working for my trainer & riding at least my 2 horses, grooming, etc. Not taking food & thankfully its not a place that has food regularly so hoping for the big, fat NADA but more beverages (I'll take water & coffee
D: I'd like to try a liquid fast today. If I can pull it off, great! If not and I think I'm dying I'll microwave a russet, add chicken broth, salt & A-1.
On a separate note, I've been reading about the benefits of oil pulling. I decided to give it a go today with coconut oil as that's what I have and did it while doing morning chores. It is gonna take some getting used to, and I'm not sure I can do it unless I've got something like chores to distract me. I followed it up by using some baking soda along with my tooth paste & I have to say, in this one session, my teeth are looking whiter than they have in a while. I'm pretty average tooth whiteness wise - nothing you'd look twice at but not sparkling white either. I've bought white strips but after a few days they start to hurt my teeth & that can't be good. So we'll see if this whitens them without pain along with the other supposed side benefits.

I am not complaining - or bragging - but I have yet to feel hungry. I am scared because this day seems really super easy. So I will think it is going to be easy and then as soon as the going gets rough I will bail. I just wanted to get that out.

I had black coffee and string cheese for breakfast, and now I am having my lunch which is a rice cake with laughing cow, cucumber, and a pickle with herbal tea. I am at 170 calories so far... Do I go with the calorie amount on the JUDDD website (my 25%) or do I go with 500 calories for the first two weeks? My 25% is 446 calories.

Andrea-- some people just go with the 500 for the 2 weeks, b/c really, between that and 446, not a big deal, and it gets the SIRT going.
If on a DD you feel like eating less, that is totally acceptable afterall, this is alternate day fasting... so anything between 0-20%, 25%, 30%, and 35% are all in the "weight loss" range, I believe.

Personally, I did around 500 for quite a few months, and only recently dropped to closer to my actual 20% number (I keep the 25% and higher %s in case I wind up doing something social on a DD, so I don't feel like I "blew it").

re: not feeling hungry, WOO HOO! you just never know what your DDs are going to be like, and for women, they do seem cycle... some DDs are hungrier, some are less, sometimes it has to do with TOM, sometimes not... so much FUN (she says, sarcastically )

Also-- some of us seem to make it through most of the day w/out food (maybe just coffee or tea, water, etc) and only get hungry in the afternoon. I'm one of those... I'm good till about 2-3pm, and then I really want something.

Overall-- it's mind over matter. So many people post week by week, and then by month, how their mental relationship with food is changing over time.

One saying that I believe Kissa (Cindy) came up with, but it may have been another JB:

Hunger is not an emergency.

I love it! So true. And my own-- I make healthy choices.

Hope this helps! Posting here (daily menus) and all around the board is tremendously helpful too

Late posting again, but hope everyone has had a great DD! The "up" side to all this is tomorrow's an UD!!! Yay!

B: coffee w/ h/h creamer (20)
L: 1 bite of my sons' sub sandwich. (idk?)
D: Potato soup (125)

*May have a little something before bed depending on how I feel. May do just as well to go to bed now. Then I won't have to worry about it.

Wow, sounds like everyone is pretty much today!

Today, my plan is potato's. Had a couple of the little bitty bites so far, they're so filling. Tonight will eat a couple of them with sugar free ketchup.

Ok I was somewhere around 170, but I may have to have another 1/2 c. of potato. At most I should finish out around 312. That's still a little bit under my DD calculator number so I should be ok. I hope.
