WOE: JUDDD (3 DD, 3 UD, 1 MD) Potato hack 3-30 March
Start Date: 11 Dec. 2011 Restart 1 Jan 2013

Yesterday was my worst ever DD (approx. 700kcals). The domestic drama continues as OH helpfully tried to fix the washing machine for me (it flooded the kitchen yesterday). Now, he's sleep-walking practically as he's just back from a very tiring business trip and had been putting in 80+hr weeks for months before he left for it.
So, he flooded the kitchen another 3x and then left for work. I'm vacuuming up the water, drying things and trying to ignore the fruit jellies. I'm trying out idli (South Indian steamed rice dumpling) today as part of my potato hack as my gut is plainly still not able to cope with a mono diet of potato. B: 3x idli with tomato ketchup (approx 180kcals) L: 100g cold potato and mustard (approx 85kcals) D: 250g hot potato, vinegar and dill (approx. 225kcals) Snacks should be congee with chicken stock powder and idli as I need to make up some calories. |

Sher and Slow-- that's what Cindy (Kissa) said about the 3" of water in her basement too...
to you both, any kind of home-upkeep issue is just such a downer.but it's an UP day, so we have that going for us I lost a bit of water weight yesterday, from 243 to 241, woo! Keeping it going today with low-ish carbs and just good homemade food. B: 1/2 a cauliflower pizza crust, with 1T of pesto, 3oz chicken, and 1oz shredded cheese L: probably tuna? maybe in a nori wrapper? D: pork ribs! and chocolate! Not together! ![]() S.

Hey gals!
The last few DDs have been rough. I mixed up my routine a bit and I think that's a bad idea. So we're back to our standard coffee with CO and some vanilla SF syrup for breakfast. Oh, and a few goldfish crackers because when the 2 year old wants you to eat goldfish crackers, its just easier to eat them. Sympathies & well wishes to everyone with water issues. Our basement routinely flooded when we lived in Minneapolis. One summer we dug out our whole foundation, sealed it, and sealed up the whole inside. It made a huge difference but there were still times we got water in there. Ug! No idea what lunch & dinner will be. Have to see how the day goes. Happy Tuesday lovely JBs!

B: Coffee w CO and SF vanilla syrup - had its intended result & now I'm feeling MUCH better!
L: Greek yogurt with honey, frozen blueberries and strawberries (265) S: Dont know - will see what the monkey wants for lunch, may partake. Although he was "sick" this morning he seems to be feeling better and won't come in from playing outside. D: Pork steak, onion potatoes, not sure what else yet. Will depend, I think, on what I end up with for a snack. Told hubby that some of the JBs in another thread were talking about the Shamrock shake so he brought one home yesterday. He acknowledged yesterday was a DD so its been in the freezer. He said I could have as much as I wanted then he would finish it off so I'm not tempted. Sweet, I think... |

On DDs, you have a range, from 0-20%, and then 25%, 30%, and even 35% of your ud calories are all considered weight loss (always check the judd calculator). the difference is what makes JUDDD work-- your body thinks it's stressed, releases SIRT, and then, oh, hey, not stressed, no need to go into shut down...etc, on and off, and the SIRT builds up and we burn fat and get slim (that is not a direct quote from the book )You can do JUDDD high carb (though the book says to keep it moderate), low carb, south beach, weight watchers, potato hack, perfect health diet, paleo, vegan, fat fast, meatatarian (go team meat!) ... as long as you stick to your calories and do the rotations, you should see this working for you. My own personal advice-- don't monkey with it too much, until you hit a plateau (which would be like a month with no loss). Don't weigh every day, only 1 or 2x a week, AFTER down days (b/c you WILL bounce up on the scale and that can drive you nuts )Lastly-- if you are used to lower carbs, try to keep going that way, b/c loading up on carbs if you don't usually eat them WILL cause you to gain water, and you will come crying to your JUDDD BUDDDS who will be very kind to you anyway ![]() .... oh, wait, that last one is me. ![]() ---------------------------------------------- me: so far, on track. I did just go to walmart and buy a bunch of non-sugar free chocolate for easter, for the first time, ever quite looking forward to a cadbury's cream egg and no guilt! tee heeslight changes to today's menu: b: as stated L: tuna mixed with salmon (shared with DH) with lite mayo, wasabi powder, sesame seeds and a bit of lime juice, in nori wrappers-- I think I wound up eating 2 full ones? then-- 1.5c (2 servings) of puffins cereal, and almond milk (so 90x2, and 40) vitamins, pteroblue, water D: DH pulled out beef ribs, not pork, so those are in the crockpot now. |

So far, so good on this beautiful UD!
B-53 grams of pumpkin bread (srvg is 73 grams), coffee = 204 L-TacoBueno- combo burrito/mucho toastada/chips = 991 (glup) That leaves me 823 for dinner, which will include fish or chicken and slaw, for sure. If I have fish, I hope I can work in a couple of hushpuppies! Cornbread is truly my downfall...I could eat it at every meal! Not the sweet kind, tho. ![]() Carole Last edited by arkie1; 03-19-2013 at 12:35 PM.. |
