Lower DD cals = Greater Loss?
Just wondering if lowering your dd cals will amount to greater drops? I've been doing great, thought I'd ask for future reference if/when things slow down a bit. I do plan on trying for 350-400 days rather than the 500...giving it a shot tomorrow.

I think so! You *must* keep your UD calories at the calculated number though for it to work properly. :) 20% is the optimum.:up:

Oh I definitely won't mess with the ud numbers lol...but I feel like I can really reduce my dd cals...

I think it does help. I'm not able to go under 300 yet(or maybe ever). Bug you should give it a try if you're able, track it for a week and see how it goes. :)

I found the lower my DDs the better I lost. During most of WLM I just has a 150 calorie bedtime snack. Now I do 3 DDs a week. 2 are under 300 and one is usually a bit higher, but not always. My high bounce is now 126 and a bunch of people have been saying not to lose anymore so after my April vacation I'll see where I'm at and may have to switch to 5:2, but my low DDs gives me my JUDDD magic and I wouldn't dare part with that!

For me, getting the DDs lower allows me to keep UDs a little higher and still lose well.

It is going to depend on your personal metabolism and what is going on with you hormonally. Dropping DDs is well worth trying. Some people feel better and lose more consistently with a somewhat higher DD pattern, some do better with lower DDs. Try it, you may like it.

I jump DDs around a lot - higher today, way lower day after tomorrow. (I jump UDs around too) and remain very happy with the results.

This is something I have been thinking of trying to see if my losses change. I think I'll struggle totally fasting or even going below 250. I usually have 400-450 calories on my down days but the other day had just under 300 (it wasn't intentional I thought I had 400 until I later realised) and I felt so hungry all day, my stomach was growling at me. I am definitely going to give it a try though. I have had about 380ish today so will have to try again next down day.

So far I'm 150 cals in. My dinner should be about 175...hoping to stay below 350. This puts me at 325 which leaves room for a couple tbsps of creamer if I want coffee later.
We'll see how the scale looks after a couple weeks of lower dd's.
