Just thought you all would be interested. Just got my People magazine yesterday and this was featured in a 2 page article!! Mr Mosley and his Fast Five is certainly getting the rounds these days LOL. Happy to see another positive piece in the media on this diet.

Thanks for letting us know about the people mag. article on the FastDiet. I'll make sure to give it a quick read through next time I'm standing in line waiting to check out at the grocery store.

I've decided to do 4:3 for the next two weeks (M-W-F), because the next two weekends will be full of feasting. Now that I'm just about 6 lbs. away from my goal, I don't want to blow all the progress that I've made in the last three months.

I'll make sure and check in with you all on next weeks 5:2 thread.

Ann

Well yesterday was my first official day on 5:2 and what a mess it ended up being! I participated in an indoor garage sale at my kid's school in the morning and had planned on skipping b-fast. But I have a bad cold and needed to take something so I had a handful of flavored pretzel thins with whipped cream cheese. I figured it was at least 200c. Then at the sale I ate a serving of cashew trail mix, 190c, (measured out beforehand), and then a half of a large ham cheeese fundraiser style sub that the school was selling. I only ate half because they didn't have any condiments-saved by the lack of mayo lol. Got home early afternoon and was starving-ate a LOT more of the trail mix and more pretzels and cream.cheese ugh. And then we went to chucky cheeses and i had one small slice of really crappy pepperoni pizza But wait, I'm not done (triple ugh, lol). Got home, put the kids to bed and dh and I looked at each other and both declared that we were starving. Ended up eating half of a delux sub from a local pizza place-gobs of mozarrela, pepperoni, ham, mushrooms and mayo, mayo and more mayo. Finished the night with a 10 calorie mint and a deep dread for what today's weigh in would be.

Surprisingly, it's the same as yesterdays at 134.5 I am predicting a large bounce tomorrow lol. What I realized though, is I don't like the uncontroled feeling I had yesterday. I know I've complained about having to keep track of my calories before, but doing so gives me a calmness and a sense of being in control of my body. Yesterday wasn't a pleasant experience and I have no desire to repeat it any time soon!

I know exactly how you feel! I too hate when I feel out of control.

I got a new scale and was not happy with the digits. 4lb gain!

Looks like I will be cracking it down some.

DD today!

I too, was very happy with the bounce this morning after 3 pretty extravagant UDs, and far too much wine.

126.6. I was 124 on Friday but as 126 is my goal weight I am not at all bothered.

Big bounce this morning, up to 163.2! I pulled a muscle on Saturday and have a headache this morning, so I'm hoping it's just illness causing the bounce. I've also been snacky and have been averaging more around 1850 UDs instead of my 1750, but I allow up to 2000 and have maintained with that.

Yeah, I think its the illness. Pulled or sore muscles tend to retain fluid. Give it a few days to calm down. Feel better soon

It is wonderful seeing people losing on 5:2.

Has anyone thought of doing 6:1? I think that's what Dr. Mosley does now, since he's lost the weight he wanted (he mentioned this in an interview I watched). I may try it, just to see what happens

I'll be watching with interest if you do Sara. I'd like to know if it keeps SIRTs fully saturated, and if we can maintain that way. I'm too scared to try it just yet, though maybe after I've maintained for some time, I'll try it.

I don't mind being the guinea pig I started thinking about it this afternoon, because I've been starving on my dd today and I was trying to figure a way to justify eating more That's when I pulled out my calculator and did some math-the calorie difference each day isn't that much different and only having one dd a week would be nice, if it works. Sooo, I've decided for this experiment my one dd a week will be Thursday ie not today My calories for the rest of the week are 1,487 a day, which I think is doable for me since a lot of up days I have to add food just because, to get the extra calories in. I'm very curious to see if doing this will cause weight gain issues, or keep me at the same weight -or- a .5lb a week loss (what my calorie numbers should hypothetically do).

Ok, I'm going to try it and see what happens

That means I don't have to!

Oh how I would love it if it works out for you and I can then try it with a little less stress. See how I turned that back around to me?

I'm coming off of a UUADs weekend, so that may mess with my scale for a few days yet-I'm going to plan on trying it for two weeks and see what happens (unless I gain like 10lbs and then I'll abandon the experiment lol).

It's hard to believe the first day of spring is in two days, when it's still freezing and snowing in so many parts of the US.

I'm so sick and tired of freezing! BRRRR. What happened to the early spring that was predicted by that dam groundhog! This morning the schools around here had a two hr. delay, because of the snow and icy roads. It looks like a winter wonderland outside with all the tree branches covered in ice.

I'm in central California. We get about 3 good weeks a year. The summer is often over 110* and it's freezing/foggy in the winter without the beauty of snow.
