Kristen, I know what you mean.

Monica, I currently live in Springfield, MO. Well, it's sort of been the home base, but we've spent more time away than there...there's a long long list of the places we've been "living" in for the past 8-9 months. But all of our stuff was in storage in Springfield, and that's where we're leaving from in the morning. Expecting about a 12-hour drive (because the big truck might be slow) tomorrow, so we hope to arrive by 8 pm. We have a friend who'll let us stay with her the night and then the following day we unpack.

I'm really getting excited now that everything is in the truck, tied down and ready to go. A couple loads of laundry, load our suitcases in the car and we're ready to hit the road.

Adi, I would love to come visit your goat farm. I love goats, I had a couple when we were little. I will look for the goat cheese.

Thank you, Luv2. We should see about getting together sometime, maybe enjoy some of the great eats in Austin (on an up day, of course!) I love learning from locals what the best places are to eat.

Safe travels girl! I'm a Missouri girl too! I was born in Sedalia MO, went to college in Springfield MO (SMSU) and have lived various places in KC Mo! I am now a permanent resident of Lawrence KS!

Houston TX sounds fun!

We're here and more or less settled in. Lots of unpacking left to do, but some semblance of home has been created, LOL. It's a trip getting stuff out of storage, all these books that I've missed so much! I just want to dive into them.

My art studio is still a morass of cardboard boxes, but we're chipping away at it in small bites.

We really love it here. The weather has been lovely and all the snow back where we came from has really helped underscore the decision to move here. Looking at all the pictures on facebook of snow and cold gray skies while I'm sitting out on my balcony in the sun and looking at the pool and the spring leaves budding out on the trees, I don't miss any of that at all.

It's nice to have our own kitchen to make food in, and not to have to worry about anyone else's schedule or desires when planning menus. I've missed that.

One thing I'm learning, is that Austin is such a foodie city! There's so much good food everywhere, I'm constantly learning about places that we must try. And the quality and variety in the grocery stores are several steps above what we are used to. One grocery store had such a huge produce department! Probably twelve different types of mushrooms, and probably twenty different varieties of apples.

I'm really going to have to keep down days clean so that I can indulge on up days. Because, super yum.

Scale is pretty consistent at about 161, not sure whether that's because I've gained a couple of pounds since hitting my low weight of 159, or whether that was just a different scale and weighed differently.

Oh, and I bought a swimsuit. First new swimsuit in years and years. Motivated me to get back to Callanetics and yoga. I am not going to look perfect in this suit, no matter how many planks I do, but I am going to wear it anyway. Trying to be brave and stop judging my body.

FlossyLiz, if you could see me IN the swimsuit, you might not say it's an NSV.

Although it's probably better than at my before weight. I'm so dang self-conscious about how I look these days! Trying to be relaxed and okay with not being perfect, or being far far from perfect, but better than I used to be. I guess that's the NSV, or will be if I actually attain that state of mind.

Thanks, everyone. Or should I say, y'all, since I live in Texas again...

The weather is enviable now, but we may revisit the topic come summer... might not be so wonderful then.
