Sadly no walking today, but I did an hour of biking!
I'm already tanned in my upper exposed areas. Need to get some new face cream with sun coverage.

Hope- I also this time of the year. If I had more time I could walk 3-4 hrs a day.
Oh- and there is nothing worst than wanting to pee in the middle of the walk, if you are in the residential are with no bathroom. I always have to time my water intake when I go for a walk

Yeeeeah, so, the walking hasn't been going so well for me. I've still been doing my callanetics, but I've added in a part-time job in addition to my current full-time position. I'm lucky to get home, eat dinner, and do the Callanetics before I have to go to bed. I will try to get in some walking during my weekends. Some is better than none!

75 mins for me today.

Great job Monica, hope you are enjoying your day with the boss away.

Silverain Doing great with the callanetics, despite your schedule!

Does anyone do anything else when they are walking?

Curl the torso, as per callanetics?

Squeeze the thighs or butt?

Looking for some ideas to make use of my time while walking.

No walk in the morning as it was raining heavily. Maybe I can get 30 min the evening.

Hope- sometimes I like to walk with 1/2 lb weighted gloves.

Ha!

No walk today, it is raining here. I can't complain though we have had over a week of sunshine! It's suppose to be colder and wet through the weekend, so it might be a while before I get out again.

Time to do more callanetics.

55 min.

Ouch, I have some serious DOMS all over the body from yesterday's lifting routine. Can't go down the step or sit down. That's what you get from taking a 6 week break from lifting

Hope- we also have rainy week here after sunny last few days. I was lucky this morning to get my walk in.

I'll keep a check in here with you all if that is ok

I'm training for a charity event that happens at the end of July. It's a 24 mile hike over the highest 3 mountains in Yorkshire, in under 12 hours!! Now 24 miles on the flat in 12 hours would be ok for me, but add in the mountains and it's going to be tough lol.

I do walk every day in my lunch hour (usually about 1.5miles in about 30 minutes or so) but I also do longer walks on an evening. About 4-8 miles (depending on the time I have) about 3 days a week.

I love walking and really find it does help me lose weight. I tried running but actually don't like it lol. I did the couch to 5k program just so I could say I could run 5k non stop but once I acheived that I had no desire to carry on running, I prefer walking

Stardust - welcome. Your 24 mile hike sounds awesome! It will be tough. Are you doing it with a group? so you have someone to chat with during that time?

I was a runner. I completed several 5K's, 10K's and 2 Half Marathons. I injured my foot, took forever to heal....once it did, I tried to get back in it and couldn't. In the height of my training I would get up at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday's to get my long run in before the family woke (kids, my DH would meet me during my longer runs to refill my water). After being down 9 month for the injury (I did the Arch Trainer daily to keep indurance up) I looked at what I had done and was like WHY???? Now I walk 3 miles at 5:00 a.m. with my DH and at Noon I do 2 miles with my coworker! Much more fun than the HOURS of running by myself!

Only 30 min today. I am even more sore today in my legs than I was yesterday. Going down the stairs is so painful and forget about sitting down. That's why I only did 30 min, as the area where are walk has lots of step hills and I can't go down the hill
Hopefully tomorrow will be less sore, but it is going to rain
I will probably pull one of my walking dvds
