first day on JUDDD=success!

So today was my first day of juddd...wow not as bad as I thought!

I had 500 calories

breakfast: partial serving of oat meal with 1/3 cup almond milk (120 cal)
snack: scoop of protein powder mixed with warm water (130 cal)
lunch: 1 serving of canned low calorie chicken noodle soup (100 cal)
snack: light cheese stick (50 cal)
dinner: nice sized bowl of steamed veggies (100 cal)

Thank goodness for digital food scales
I am sooo looking forward to 1800 calories sunday!
a local store carries these low calorie noodles..only 40 calories for a big bag..going to
buy some of those for sure!! I have alot of will power and am tired of always trying to lose the small amount of weight I have
(ok its been since late october, but still!) The first half of the day was a bit difficult (kept watching the clock waiting for
my next feeding) but once I ate lunch it got a bit easier...I don't know if it was because I knew at 6:30 I would get to have my steamed
veggies which fill me up, and then go to bed at 9:00 and wake up to a day of 1800 calories? lol but anyways I really think this is going to
be the diet that works for me! Anyone have any high volume low calorie meal/snack ideas? I am content with the oat meal and veggies but
it would be nice if I could find something else for snacks and lunch Thanks in advance :P

Well done, Akilah! I hope you are enjoying your UD. Who doesn't, lol. I was wondering about the 40 calorie noodles...are those the asian noodles that you have to rinse?

netrition sells zero calorie miracle noodles and miracle rice. I used it the beginning and it helped. It also helps with constipation so I keep a few bags in the fridge at all times. They need to be rinsed well, but taste good in stir fry and asian type dished. If you read through the DD food porn and DD recipe thread you will see lots of great recipes, many with high volume/ low cal. You can make zucchini noodles too and those are filling and low cal.

The DDs get much, much, easier and you may find you don't really need much volume in a month or 2.

way to go Akilah!

There are lots of easy down days, some hard ones, and same for up days. But it all averages out to a very liveable way of eating! Congrats on getting started!

Thanks for all the support guys sunday was my up day..I had a goal of 1800-1900 but i had about 2200 by accident lol...but monday was my down day and I did great! I was really nervous eating 500 calories yesterday because monday-thursday I get up at 8:00 am..chase my 3 young children around...and work from 6:00pm til 2:15 am as a cocktail waitress...thats a very active job and a long day...but I pick out food thats low calorie and volume heavy so I was fine

Libraygirl- yes!! those are the noodles..some are 40 calories a pack and some are 50...but its crazy for how much you get! I pretty much made a low calorie tuna casserole yesterday and I kept thinking "I can't believe I have ate all this food today for only 500 calories" lol.

Carly- those miracle noodles were actually just on my local news a few days ago! 0 calories! that's crazy...I did not know that there was rice aswell...I will look into that asap! lol!

You have such a great, positive attitude and you plan well! You are going to rock JUDD!

For a filling meal or snack, check out the thread on the cabbage; chicken; laughing cow cheese dishes. Wow are they ever yummy.

I buy bags of shredded cabbage (the kind you buy to make easy cole slaw). I do a lot of variations. You can thinly slice a chicken breast, stir fry it in some cooking spray with onions and mushrooms, then stir in the shredded cabbage and a bit of chicken broth. Sometimes I add low fat cheese and put the lid on 'til it melts. Sometimes I just add more broth and it's like a thick soup. If I add some ACV to the broth, it has a nice bite. Or, add some coconut oil and ACV and it has an asian flavor. YUM!

You can do the cabbage with eggs, too. Or use tuna or fish. Or ground turkey. Let your imagination run wild!
