WOE: Back to JUDDD!
I was underweight in high school. I was overweight for 15 - 18 years. I was morbidly obese from the time my daughter was born, eight years ago, until I found JUDDD.

After I started JUDDD and had already lost about 45 pounds, I was diagnosed with thyroid disease. Looking back, I suspect I've had it at least since my teens and it just went undiagnosed since I didn't know to look for it. I've since found out that both my mother and my grandmother had thyroid disease as well. Anyway, if that doesn't indicate metabolic dysfunction, I'm not sure what does.

I think I am terrified that nothing is ever really going to work. I lost over 50 pounds with Atkins and it was the least I've ever weighed. I have always been overweight. I've never been thin. Everyone in my family is overweight. EVERYONE. There isn't one thin person in my immediate family on my dad's side.

I of course gained everything back when I went off Atkins.

I am admittedly very addicted to food.

Thank you because I'll need it! My husband is doing this with me too. Very thankful for that. Between the two of us, we've gained 95 pounds since we got married. Which is ironically the weight of our two children combined right now lol. Coincidence??? lol

I understand you fear of being overweight forever. I had it too. I was always fat since I was a very little kid. In high school I thinned a little but I doubt I was ever below a size 12 since maybe 8 or 10 years old. I was 200 lbs before my first child and ballooned up to 240 lbs after the pregnancy and having him.

I went southbeach first and lost a few pounds, found atkins and slowly lost weight over the next couple years down to about 200 lbs again but could never really get lower. Keep in mind I'm talking about 7 years here!!! (ok there were 2 additional children but still...)

Finally out of exasperation and my 18,000th egg/meat fast I decided to look at JUDDD. I was around 190 lbs and had been stuck for months. I will be the first one to tell you that I have not been a JUDDD saint and way too often ate frosting and cake first thing in the morning, didn't count my UD calories, and ate everything in site in the beginning. From may until october, I went from 190 to 158. I've been maintaining for a while since then but need to buckle down and get the rest of the weight off. My point is, once I started the weight fell off like crazy as as you've seen above, I definitely thought I had a broken metabolism. Apparently, its fixed now

The JUDDD secret is to do it right about 80-90% of the time and otherwise have some really great food.

Oh and my DH JUDDD's with me and has lost like 80 lbs and he doesn't even really count his UD's. He LOVES it. Also my parents after seeing our great sucess have decided to do it too.

Kelly, i just made the switch from atkins a week or so ago. I could not conceive of the carb eating and losing weight, but it is working for me now. A word of warning, i went straight from atkins to Juddd and if you have any experience of stopping atkins you know you get an immediate uptick in weight. i gained about 5 lbs almost immediately, but decided to stick with it and it seems to be working now. i havent limited any food so far, eating pizza and bread on my UD and still seems to be working. just wanted to throw a word in about the first week not seeing results coming from atkins so you dont get discouraged if it happened to you too. i lost a lot of weight on atkins in the past but not as easy this time.

The posters on this board are so helpful and encouraging, the know a lot too. helped me get started as well. i did find an ebook online and read it. that helps too. i would be open to lending it if needed.

We were on our way to church yesterday when dh took the picture, otherwise I'd been in a ratty t-shirt, ponytail, and yoga pants Sunday is the only day I do my hair and makeup

i understand. i almost gave up then too and i actually started on a DD so i didnt even eat and started gaining the 1st couple days, but now it seems to be moving the right way. my first week was not good like a lot of people here, but i think that the carbs were the reason. everyone here is so helpful, i thought i should try and return the favor. Good luck.
