I'm up and ready for DD #2!! I'm going to the grocery store today to stock up on some low cal soups & broths. I'm going to get a bag or 2 of shredded cabbage and some fresh mushrooms. I thought I could saute the cabbage & mushrooms in a small amount of coconut oil & then either eat it as is, or add it to some beef broth for a filling, low cal soup. I'm really not dreading the DD's at all. There are so many great ideas in this site for yummy things to eat for minimal calories.
I have some protein shakes that I buy at Sam's Club. They are called Premiere Protein and they have 160 cals, 30 gr of protein and only 5 carbs. I may use them once in awhile if I feel I need a shot of protein. Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday! ![]() |

Can't wait till you're onboard Stacy! I have to tell you that I'm not minding the not eating thing at all. It is nearly 11AM and I haven't eaten a thing so far. I'm just starting to feel quite hungry. I'm about to saute my cabbage & mushrooms and I believe I'll put some red pepper flakes in it to spice it up! I debated putting some ground beef in it, but I think I'll forgo that to save calories.
I look forward to learning new things each day on this journey. The help from the people who have been there, done that is wonderful! Happy JUDDDing!! ![]() Lori |

Some JUDDDers have enjoyed using the shakes. Me, I need real food. I like to chew.
Lori, it sounds as if you had a lovely meal out with your DH. Such a joy enjoying a date in ANY restaurant. My DH hardly at pizza for 10 years when I did Atkins. Now we go just anywhere. Love it. Enjoy your DD. |

Been a super busy weekend so Sat turned out to be an UD and today I have been better but know I will not be below 500. So my question is it better for me to just have an UD today or continue to be as low as possible which would be about 1000 calories? We have been shopping all weekend so wasn't able to prepare like I should.

Not if you're happy with how things are going. Only if you want to lose weight faster.
Re today, you might find it easier to change your rotations. So turn today into a sensible UD and have a clean DD tomorrow. That's much easier than trying to do a DD after an MD, which is what a 1000cal day would be. (Normally, to change rotations we recommend MD, UD, DD.) |

I still like shakes on DD's especially for breakfast. I use a pure protein with no flavouring, add a tsp of MCT oil, dash of liquid vanilla stevia mixed with almond milk. It's tasty and the oil/protein combo fills me up.
On tomorrow's UD I'm going to start the day with MCT oil. I haven't been doing this since JUDDD, plus I'm cutting down on fruit and dairy, and bringing the protein back. I've been a hog going wild on my UD's with fruits and dairy and think I need to get back to my normal foods. Last edited by mojocat; 03-03-2013 at 05:43 PM.. |

it is very hard for me to stick with dd on the weekend. weekends are family time which means cooking, restaurants, and desserts.it is easier during the week because work keeps my mind off of food. by the time I am home usually after 1pm, I can stay occupied to not eat so much on a dd. I have noticed something psychologically related to food....I almost instinctively want to eat when I m home. I have to make a conscious decision to not mindlessly eat. I think I should also start adding in activities for me in the evening to keep me out of the house. at least until it gets darker later. right now the evenings are long and consumed with the thoughts of food. I am not hungry, just want to eat something.

I am thankful that the DD routines for the most part are getting easier. Today's DD was a challenge as it is a weekend and DH is home. I fixed him breakfast before church and lunch afterwards, having only coffee with CO and sugar free vanilla syrup, and one cup of no salt added broth at lunch. For dinner I fixed him some regular food that is not tempting for me and had shiratki noodles with crab delights plus a modest amount of jarred alfredo and parmesan, plus a small salad / red wine vinegar. Orange mango ICE seltzer for zero calories, also. All told under 500 calories for the day, and tomorrow will be an up day. YAY.
What I noticed going on today was that I am definitely enjoying better energy levels! I got quite a few things handled around the house today and it was way more than I would have had the energy for prior to starting JUDDD. Since I haven't lost that much weight yet, it's got to be the JUDDD MAGIC kicking in. My attitude is better and to think that I basically had pretty much nothing to eat before 8pm and still felt great! Modest hunger, but not unmanageable at all. It's all very motivating! Thanks so much to all of the awesome JUDDD BUDDDs! ![]() ![]() ![]() Love you guys!Kimmie |

Up WAY early this morning. I started getting awake around 3 and then DH started snoring. I was hungry so couldn't get back to sleep. I finally got up at 3:30. So, its an UD and I ate a piece of leftover pizza at 4AM!
After an UD Saturday, and a DD yesterday, the scale was up a pound this morning. I'm trying not to panic. I really am enjoying this woe, and there's no reason it won't work for me as its worked for so many of you here. I'm thinking my body is in a bit of shock from the carbs on Saturday. I have boot camp this morning at 5:45. I still have an hour till I have to start getting ready. WOW...its going to be a long day! Lori |

Kimmie, glad it's becoming so easy for you!
Lori, it takes 3,500 extra calories to make one pound of surplus fat and you sure didn't eat those this weekend! The number on the scales will definitely fluctuate. Don't let it get to you. You're doing fine! |

Go Stacy, GO!! Don't worry about that number on the scale. You will not have to look at it for long! Sounds like you'll have a busy day and you won't even realize you haven't eaten. Let us know how your day goes!

You guys are off to a great start! I also remember being very doubtful that JUDDD could work for me. And yes, it takes some time to trust it. Just allow yourself that time to adjust, and you will see the proof!
I'm re-dedicating myself today. I've been doing fine, but letting my UDs get a bit out of control, and I want to rein that in before it gets to be a habit. Also, since my mom had her first DD on Saturday (and did great, by the way!) I want to be sure to be a good example. She's decided to commit to the EOD schedule, instead of just "every other EOD" IYKWIM. She's not going to count her UD calories, but I don't think that will be a problem for her. She doesn't eat way out of control like I can. Stacy, I totally know how you're feeling about losing and regaining. I lost 94 pounds over 10 years ago, got down to 130, where I felt great and I think looked great. Then over 7-8 years I gained it back plus another almost 100. Awful! But I've got the first 100 off and I know I can get the rest off over the next year. You can do this too!

I bet I go looking for it though. So much easier than chopping it up. I love stir fried cabbage and onion. I may try tossing in a few mushrooms as well. I had thought about putting in a packet of salmon to see how it would taste. Just to give it some protein. |
