You're not whining Lori. We all have had those feelings. I believe if you feel lighter and like you should see a loss, then you have lost fat, and there's something else going on like water retention or inflammation. And yes, I HATE MDs! It seems like they just confuse the whole process and can prevent good losses for the week. Finding your sweet spot is key, and you will!

Me too! But I think I'm going to have to do one Tuesday to get an UD Wednesday. Normally I would just to 2 UDs in a row, but Wednesday is my brother's birthday, and likely to be an UUAD, so I hesitate to do that. I'll decide Tuesday morning I guess.

Even after all this time I don't understand why MDs seem so discombobulating. But they really are.

I'm actually just now starting to think that I may not be eating enough, but I guess I have a few fattening dinners each week. We still don't keep much in the house to ward off any sleepwalking disasters, so if we don't go to the grocery store for a few days there isn't much to snack on, especially on the weekends if we stay in most of the early part of the day... Hum, need to think about this.

Well, my first DD complete (well, I'm headed off to bed). I had about of an Atkins shake...tried to suck it down, but this flavor was awful (the flavor I like, I should have just had, but I know better for next time). I also had a tuna to-go cracker set. So I'm going to estimate that I had 345 calories (240 plus an estimate of 100 for the shake, since I didn't precisely measure how much of the shake I had, and I had a piece of SF gum). Not bad for my first DD. It wasn't too bad. I thought of food when my family was munching on the delicious pasta I made last night as my good by Atkins Induction/UD meal and when they had fast food for dinner (taco salad from Taco Bell for the DD and DH had popeyes). My hubby who is such a bad influence brought the ice cream in bed this morning, but I stayed strong (he knows I gave up sweets for Lent, so I couldn't have had it anyway, but he was just trying to taunt me).
So that was my first DD. Overall, I didn't feel too hungry and it was a good day. Excited to see the scale go back down tomorrow. |

Hi Alex! Try the Pure Protein shakes. I found them at Walmart. I liked them a little frothy put in freezer for about 20 minutes or so. Never tried the Atkins shakes.
I too have to watch DH eat Popeyes chicken and such on my DD. It's dreadful but I just grin and bare it. I just think about it as if I keep going when I get to maintenance I can maintain by only doing 2 DD a week which won't be nearly as bad as 3 or 4 a week! Good luck on the scale in the morning!

I am SO in awe of those of you who lost 7 lbs the first week! My body is still getting used to this whole new WOE, but my mind loves it!
![]() I had been dieting pretty strictly since the beginning of January when I started JUDDD on 3/5, so I guess I couldn't expect a big loss right away. I feel like I've lost more than the scale says....I suppose it'll catch up eventually. ![]() DD today and I'm looking forward to a good JUDDD week! ![]() Lori |

I lost 5 lbs my first two weeks. Slowly closing the gap between now and my goal.
Going to keep DDs at 500 or less, will work towards the less part. I do like that DDs are so easy, no thinking about what you are going to eat since you don't eat much. Minimal planning for the meal. It hasn't been as hard as I thought, rearranging food and all. I kind of like DDs because that hunger reminds me I am achieving my goal and I am going to be just fine! |

I have a question. We travel during the warm months. I thought this will be easy on my DD I will do an Atkin shake. Today is my first DD and I drank the shake but ended up in the bathroom way too much to travel and do this. If I remember right years ago I tried slimfast shakes and they did the same thing to me. So now I am worrying what I will do on DD traveling. At home no problem in fact today so far has gone pretty easy. Any ideas? Thanks!
