what is your goal for march?

March is fast approaching and it's time to claim your goals!

Between now and
April 1st I lose12 pounds, weighing in at 151.
I stop treating myself to sweets and special treats on every UD in March, treating myself only on my weekend UD. During the month of March, I begin to eat a higher percentage of healthy fats, protein and a lower percentage of carbohydrates.
By the beginning of April, I will feel comfortable and good, to wear a dress.

Mine is just to stop over eating so much.. I just can't seem to get a handle on this... I wake up every morning and tell myself today is going to be a good day, I am going to stay on track and then by 2pm I have ate everything that I should not have. and then the guilt sets in and I just hate myself. What is with me.

hi lc-dave! welcome back!
giggles, today is a new day and a change for you. You begin monitoring everything you put in your mouth, and you don't put anything in your mouth that is not allowed in your calorie alottment. If you don't know how many calories it is, you do not eat it. If it seems like it's too many calories, you don't eat it.You come back here to this thread everyday and check in and give us the good news of how well you are doing

I am close to breaking into the "teens", and I would really love to be in the "ohs" by April 1. I'm not sure if that's realistic, but I'm sure gonna try hard! Next stop......onederland!

thanks hot-in-texas! I will do that, maybe it will help me in some way. It just seems that the more I try the more I fail. and the stupid thing is is that I am not very hungry when I do over eat. Sitting here now I am so over stuffed that I am uncomfortable. I hate this over stuffed feeling!!

Dave!

Giggles - if you think it's a craving for carbs that's doing it, consider breakfasts of protein. Also have you checked out the pterostilbene thread? (similar to resveratrol) Some there really swear by it for keeping appetite under control through the day.

I am joining the Tone-Tone-Tone people. I'm on a roll of daily exercise lately and want to keep it up.

I want to alternate mostly T-Tapp, some Zumba, some elliptical.

I also have a goal of great bloodwork numbers when I have a doctor's appt. So sticking with my calories using healthy foods.

Jeanne, I have had the same problem,..I did find that having more protein helped me to not be so hungry...but some days after I get started..I want to just keep going with the food...now..another thing that helped is that if I wait as long as I can before I eat my first meal...actually, Ive been trying to keep to an eight hour window...We just got to keep looking for things that will help, cause we can do this...some way..some how...we can do it.

40's are still my next door neighbor since I'm at 136 ish.
Too close for comfort still. But I'm confident I can stand my ground, I think. Smile

My 15K is on 3/3, so my goal for March, is to start & stick with the couch to 5K. Which seems counter-intuitive but I'd like to increase my times for August so I'm starting at ground zero and working my way back up.
The problem is I always start these things then bail 2-3 weeks into them.
I'd also like to try to lift 2-3 times per week. Need to start working on some definition so I'm not all sag as I lose.
I'm pretty happy with my rate of loss, so my plan is to stick with what's working!!

Thanks Whitlin and jaymar..
I tried eating protein for breakfast (eggs and meat)and that did not do the trick, I still wanted to eat again in an hour. So tomorrow I am going to try holding off eating for a few hours and see how that goes. Should I still try and eat protein when I do eat?

Oh Jeanne, I'm sorry you're struggling! Personally, I would keep to protein, even if you wait as long as you can to eat it. Protein with plenty of fat, like bacon. That really works wonders for me, anyway. Hang in there girl - you can do this!

Thanks for posting this, it'd made me think about my goals. I would like to be 7lbs lighter but more importantly I want to be able to fit into all my jeans again so to be a size 14 again Also to not turn into a junk food monster on my UD and to eat more fruit. I'm excited already, long may it last!

Try adding fat too. I find that coffee in the morning with a generous helping of either HWC or CO really satisfies me for a few hours. I think the fat is really important to creating lasting feelings of satisfaction.

I agree with Yennie and LCG, I cooked a whole package of bacon his morning, the thick cut kind, I baked it all in the oven at 400 on 2 large cookie sheets covered in foil(you have to cover in foil if you don't want a mess.) And just baked it until it was how I like it(about 15 minutes, this was without pre-heating the oven first.) And had a snack of a yummy piece of bacon at lunch which has tided me over for 3 hours now. You can do it Jeanne, it is harder if there are lots of goodies lying around, but you can do it!!

I'm going to get at least two good down days in a week, aiming for three.
Yoga classes four days a week. I also have a 5 day (80hour) yoga training weekend toward the end of the month.
And adding some minor gym before yoga a couple days a week if I can...maybe weights and elliptical?
Going to lay off weighing for a while, my weight went up when I added more exercise, counterproductive mentally even though it is worthwhile long term.

Working on holding my peace.

My goal for March is to lose some weight, any weight. I've been bouncing around the same 5 pounds for all of 2013, despite only going outside of my calorie range for maybe 3 days total. I'm running out of ideas, and am trying a potato hack now. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to do, since I'm already eating low carb, limiting protein, eating clean, sticking to JUDDD calorie limits (except during the potato hack, when I eat less), avoiding all grains and sweeteners, etc. and have tried weeks both with and without added exercise, to no avail.

I think I would like to be below 145 by the end of March. Last time I weighed a few days ago I was 156.4 I think. I need to journal that. I hope that's doable. I tell you when I hit the 130's I might just have to throw a party! Hee hee. Been a looooong time since I've seen those numbers.

Yep, that's me & my old man. He's an event horse, this was taken after show jumping. Right now all my mare does is dressage as she's recovering from a deep digital flexor injury but she's meant to event as well!
What do you ride?

Um, a little bit of everything. lol We have 1 Arab, 2 walkers, 1 quarter. Love the suspension of the Arab, Smooth gait in my walkers, and speed in my quarter. I have gaited and non gaited because I like to take off an run sometimes which I don't typically do on the walkers. I do it on occasion, but it's not the same feel as doing it on an Arab or quarter horse.

I've been interested in endurance, but idk if my Arab is too old now. He's 18 now and I've heard Arabs can live to be in their 30's, but didn't know if he would be capable of handling it. One of the reasons I was interested in a quarter horse is I rode a couple of times with a friend of mine who barrel races and I had eaten like a pig and weighed the next day and had lost weight. My heart rate gets up so high when I'm trotting and cantering til I'm almost out of breath. That does not happen riding a tennessee walker. I just sit there pretty much. Looking forward to the weather warming up so we can hit the trails!
