Oh lovely Kimberly, you freakin' ROCK! I love seeing your progress and positively inspiring posts on FB--and reading this thread it really shows how happy you are with your results, and your being hooked on this type of thing makes ME want that! haha! I brought little 5 pound dumbells to the office today....so, just because you just gave me a shot of inspiration, I'm going to take them out and do a couple sets! Hoo-ahh!!

Yea Lisa! Your body will thank you! I feel great for the first time i think in my life.. I was just telling another person that after my loss folks would say.. i bet you "feel great"? .. well truth be told.. i was surprized that i didnt "FEEL" any differnt with 60 pounds gone! That was kind of sad for me.. Well now that i am stregnth training and see food as my fuel i now "FEEL" what 60 pounds should feel like! I want to encourage any one to get up and move.. do what you like but.. just keep moving.. I am not a runner.. so i dont like walking or running.. so you must find what activity you "LIKE" that way you dont feel like its to hard to do . or quit cuz your board.. I HATE dancing.( to embarassed) so i would never do ZUMBA.. BUt if you like to dance.. than that may be a great choice for you and your body! Choose what fit you!! But choose something!

Hi Kimberly! So glad you found an activity you like and I think you picked one of the best. I have been trying to do a weight/cardio interval tape lately as I can't run as much right now (injured my foot). Did you have issues with muscle soreness when you started? I am curious how long before you don't feel like you were hit by a car the next day? I think I will like it more when I get used to it. I am starting week 3 now so it has got to be soon?
I was reading Jillian Michael's new book last night and she was saying that you can burn considerably more calories with weight training than with cardo due to the calories burned in the days following from the muscle remodelling. Sounds good if it wasn't so painful!
I am glad you are happy Kimberly! Thanks for the exercise motivation too!

The soreness does subside right about the 3 weeks mark once your body seams to get stronger and so at 4 weeks i had to add more weight to "feel" the burn.. I struggle to lift heavier and i do my best to lift to exhaustion, by that i mean i lift a weight that i set my muscles up to to fail at either 8 or 10 reps, by 8 its awfull then you do your damndesst to push out 2 more.. i dont feel sore like befroe what i feel like is.. hmm.. like i need to do it again.. Ive found my muscles seam to almost begg me to do it again.. i feel so much better when i am working thru a sore muscle..ITs weird cuz i would have thought to do the same thing that made it hurt the day before would almost certainly make you want to not do it again,, but its on the contrarry.. it actually helps that sore area feel better! So make sure also, drink water while resting inbetween your sets.. i found that the more water i drank the less pain was to follow also.. Great work at 3 weeks in, i bet you can see the differnce on your body now cant ya?

You are a wonderful example to us all Kimberley, not to get complacent just because we have lost the weight. There is so much more we can do for our bodies! You are inspiring me to reintroduce weights into my routine. I know they are important but I am bad about doing it.

Please continue to post on the JUDDD boards. We so, so miss our dear JUDDD BUDDDs when they 'leave' us.

Glad to know I am close to getting beyond the adjustment/pain stage of this. I can't say that I can see any difference yet but I think I can feel it in my posture. When carrying groceries I can feel the increased strength in my core. I have gotten the go ahead from my Dr to start running again so my challenge will be to keep up with all of it now.
Great to hear from you Kimberly. I hope you still find the time to post and I look forward to getting the updates on the benefits you get from the exercise as it is very motivating!

Endorphins Kimberly!!!

Love the pain because endorphins are kicking again. These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain. Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body, similar to that of morphine.

I love, love, love your enthusiasm! I need you to be my trainer.
