I'm not sure how the quote thingies work, so I'm not gonna touch that again for now LSWILSON! I am so GLAD to see you here! SCA is so rare,,,the only people I've 'seen' who have it are the people on the SCA forums, and it's so cool to be able to share my experience with someone who actually asked! HA! Like I started to say before, for me, diet has so much to do with how I feel and function! This Way of Eating, JUDDD, has been my life-saver (well, not literally, but wowow I feel so good!) JUDDD involves eating every-other-day up days and down days, calorie-wise, that are calculated with the Johnson Up Day Down Day calculator, which is on his web page (I'm not sure if I'm free to share the link, but if you google JUDDD, you'll see the link to the diet page). I am definitely not the best with all the sciency stuff, but strictly following the calorie guidelines for UDs and DDs causes your body to begin repairing what isn't working correctly (at the cellular level), from the inside out! I am most definitely feeling a positive change. Sure, because our disease is cyclical, I still have good and bad weeks, but the good weeks are so much 'GOODER'!! When I first started, I ate things that weren't so good for me (sugar effects my balance horribly!), but now I kinda am gravitating towards healthier food, honestly, because you can eat a greater volume of whole foods for your calorie budget! I can go on and on, and I will if you are interested! But I'm a slow typist, and lunch time is almost over, so I will close for now. I highly encourage you to read read read on the JUDDD board and soak it all in. Ms. Sunday has some wonderful resources that you can check out and learn alot from! Take care and Bless ya!

I haven't gotten any yet, but I plan to get some ordered. Since meds sometimes have different effects on the SCA brain, we shall see how it goes

Is a good dose (narrow) 2 50 Mg tabs (or caps or whatever) taken in the morning or would it be better to take 1 early and another after lunch Kissaa? I see that is the dose you take.

I started taking 50 twice a day, but then found I was forgetting the second dose so though why not try taking two at once. I have no health issues and I didn't ever have the headache some have experienced. I think trial and error is the way to go.

Deb, this thread is such great news! The cat and I are dancing all over the house in celebration for you.
I encourage you to take a look at the Perfect Health Diet and the Perfect Health Diet - March over in Other Plans. I don't have sca, but I find eating PHD foods to JUDDD calories/rotations is phenomenal for my health. Especially bone broth - after months of drinking it, I believe in BB the way my younger self believed in Tinker Bell. |
