I had headaches in the beginning too, MTM. I don't know what to suggest, except for pain meds. What I can promise is that it will go away soon.

I had really bad headaches before juddding due to the herniated discs in my neck. If I recall they were a bit worse the first week or 2 and now I rarely have them.

I'd load up on magnesium and electrolytes. Even if you're drinking lots of water, it won't stay in you and keep you hydrated without sufficient salt. When you're restricting your food, you might not be getting enough trace minerals, potassium, sodium, etc. Bouillon or soup is a good quick fix...homemade bone broth is even better. We have a few threads on that; if you need more info, I'll track one down for you.
When I'm feeling "off" or weak, one of the first things I do is take about 1/4tsp unrefined sea salt with a big glass of water. I almost always feel better quickly. If I don't, I take some baking soda (1/4-1/2 tsp) in water. It neutralizes acids and helps the body absorb calcium, magnesium, and other minerals. Also, do you drink caffeinated coffee? I find that it can trigger headaches and a general toxic/dehydrated feeling. I know most people love it and find it makes them feel great! But I'm very sensitive to caffeine, and on a DD it would affect me even more strongly. Sorry you are not feeling well...hope you are feeling better by now. ![]()

This would feel different than a headach, but my blood pressure is low and I was getting very dizzy when I sat up or stood up. I add salt to almost everything now on DD. Salt on cucumbers, salt on lettuce and at least 1 mug of broth. However, headaches can be a sign of HTN so if you don't feel better it may be worth seeing your MD.

I second PJ's recommendations to evaluate the electrolytes in your life right now. The only time I get debilitating headaches is when I allow myself to become dehydrated during the summer and lose fluid & electrolytes. Usually end up having to chug several gatorades to get some relief. Plain water doesn't work.

Unfortunately, some migraines are hormonal. So, in my DD's case TOM can bring on the worst migraines. It has much to do with the hormonal flux. It is a double whammy and really frustrating.

I have a long history of migraines and JUDDD did not make them increase. I rarely have them now but every once in awhile they still pop up but no more frequently than before JUDDD. But the ones that I have had this last year have not been as severe as the ones I used to have. I drink broth on every DD and that helps with my salt intake.
And my doctor agrees with Sunday since he told me I was too old to have migraines. Listen buddy, it is my head and I know when the right side is killing me and light is to be avoided at all costs. Too old. Ha. Obviously mine are not hormone related but some peeple's are. Mine are usually weather and food related. If I get too hot I can guarantee a migraine will be the result.

I used to get very frequent migraines (with aura) when I was on BCP. I stopped BCP many years ago and got maybe 2 migraines during past 12 years. They are usually triggered with foods I seem to be allergic to. Last time I had a migraine was after I binged on honey during PMS and once after I tried a toothpaste product that contained benzoate. Also, MSG triggers migraines in me, so I stay away from anything that contains it. Increasing magnesium can be very helpful. The best one is topical magnesium. Google magnesium oil for more info.

I'm a daily headache sufferer with frequent migraines (since 8 years of age). Since I started lowering my carbs, I've noticed my headaches have gotten weaker, mostly.
I had both my tragus' pierced a couple of years ago. From that day on, I haven't had one aura. Mine were blinding! The pain has gotten a bit less since the piercings, too. I also take feverfew on a daily basis. Doesn't work great but seems to have taken the edge off of them. I've been taking this herb off and on for 10 years. studies show that women fasting are much more prone to headaches in the beginning.
sometimes a small dose of caffeine as a vasodilator helps, as can a small dose of magnesium, a hot bath, and maybe try the eating 50cal every hour thing on down days. everyone is different in this regard, but it does pass |
