UD Friday - make it awesome!
OMG, why am I up at 5:25am and can't get back to sleep? This, on the heels of a crazy blood sugar crash from my potato experiment yesterday
![]() Ouiz says I can push past it, but honestly, I have no issue with DDs anyway, so I think I'll leave that to a time when I really need a hack/break/shakeup. Ok, so, today, WOOO, up day! We're getting hit with the snowstorm of the winter (so they say)-- thought it would hit overnight, but apparently, no, the worst is still to come. I want to put off eating until much, much later... B: probably eggs and maybe the last of my potatoes, fried in bacon fat ![]() L: I'm feeling tuna. D: not a clue, but likely pork or hamburger-- bought both fresh yesterday in preparation for this storm Will revise as the day rolls along... S. |

Sara, I'm thinking I might have a weird DD like that next week-- my big boss (VP) is in and it's one of my team's birthday's, and he loooooves this steak place (don't get me started... this guy is a total piece of work...) so, I have to go for lunch, at a decent steak place... and have a salad with nothing on it? I think not. But I don't want to change my rotation, so gotta figure that one out...
![]() Anyway... here's my day, totally different from planned: B: a bunch of cereals mixed together, with almond milk-- about 500 L: in 2 parts-- the cold baked potato left over from yesterday's fiasco, with some very strong asiago dip smeared on it. later: 3 "light" haddock breaded fillets (160 each, not bad) and sf ketchup and 1T mayo. 920 total D: since I was up sooooo freakin' early I wound up making a sort of elaborate pork dish-- chinese bbq pork (in the oven). First I had to slice the sirloin (supposed to be boneless butt), then make a marinade and marinate that for a bunch of hours. Take reserved marinade and ketchup and honey, and boil that down to a glaze. Then you roast the pork slices on a rack on a tray, covered, then uncovered... THEN you broil it a bit, THEN you put on the glaze and broil that till it caramelizes... THEN flip them over and broil and then glaze and broil.... OMG THEY WERE AMAZING!!! totally worth all those steps, i'd even do it again! ![]() so that, plus some chocolate-- I figure around 2200 for the whole day... I did also have broccoli ![]() I'd say I'm good and ready for a DD! And maybe a nap... Juddd energy is cool and all, but I've been up for about 20hrs now ![]() |

Play with the online calculators and check out whether the restaurant has a website with nutritional info. Applebees does really filling meals for under 550 cals, so I bet you could do grilled chicken or even a lean cut of steak, steamed veggies and maybe a salad with a light dressing on the side for around 500 or so. Might not be your most perfect day but there is potential to not blow it. A little prep in advance and you will probably be good. I've had 2 "out to eat" days fall on DDs since starting JUDDD and a little prep work saved my DDs! I am, however, going to be doing a flip-flop soon since I'm going to a continuing ed meeting at THE. BEST. RESTAURANT. EVER. and the company is paying for the meal. Sorry, but I'm not passing this up so I'm going to have to figure out how to make it work. And if I cant, well, as you say, there's always tomorrow with JUDDD! Jen
