Questions re: JUDDD
Hi... let me begin by saying that I did the LC thing back when it was the "craze" 2003ish and I lost. But, I have gained it all back plus. I was starting to go back on the LC thing again this summer and I was hit with 4 things in a row: my cat of 18 years died, then my mother died, then my grandmother died the very next day and then my brother ALMOST died (big heart attack). Dieting was the least of my concerns at this time. I could barely function for some time. Anyway I started LC again Jan 1 and I cannot stay with it. I need more variety...and eating meat now seems to not agree with me too much.
So, I am thinking of JUDDD. My questions are: Can you drink alcohol on your up days? Can you eat ANYTHING on your up days? Can you eat meals like lean cuisine on your down days? Thanks! |

First of all for everything you've been through over the past few months. And the answer to your questions is yes, yes and yes ![]() I'm big on LCs and WW entrees right now, even on my UDs. During the day it's just me and my 4 yr old son and he usually has a sandwich or mac n cheese for lunch. Throwing an entree in the microwave is just really convenient for me for lunch. And there's some really good flavored ones out there! I've found several varieties in the 2-300 calorie range for DDs and then I have higher 3-400 calorie ones on my UDs ![]() ![]() Last edited by mom23kids; 02-02-2013 at 03:22 PM.. |

SJ!I'm so sorry for all the hardship you've experienced in the last little bit. ![]() You've already mostly gotten the answers but I'll 2nd them - yes, yes and yes. Having switched from Atkins myself (and also having lost quite a bit back in 2004-ish, but gained it all back plus some), I can understand that its hard to wrap your head around the fact that you can eat anything you want and still loose! But its true. There are some JBs who stick to LC even on JUDDD, some who do LC only on DDs, there are all sorts of ways to make this work for you. And yes you can eat all your calories in chocolate cake if you want! (I asked that when I first joined.) Although, you'll probably find yourself gravitating towards healthier choices...last night I had a piece of cake for dinner - and my stomach hurt so bad from the junk food. I was actually happy for my DD today because that cake was not a good choice. Take care of yourself, and your brother. And welcome again!!

Such very kind and compassionate people here! Thank you all so much for the kind words. I did not use this forum (not sure if it even existed in 2003) the first time I did LC. I wish I had!!
My avatar is my new kitty Sadie. I got her and her brother Jack and they are just little love bugs. A ray of sunshine for sure! |

Thanks! The thought of eating "whatever I want" is liberating!! Frankly, I cannot remember the last time I had this mind-set. I have been dieting in some form since I was 12 years old!!

My, that was a really tough time you had to go through. No wonder dieting was tha last thing on your mind.
I hope the new Kitties are helping, how could they not? And I know that you are already enjoying JUDDD. |
