Sounds like you have some smart alternatives in mind; good for you!
I live in SE Minneapolis, close to the U of Minnesota campus and Milwaukee Avenue; I sometimes to go to NE to go out to eat or to see movies at the Heights Theater. |

Longing to here about DWs results Carly. I am sure they will be fine, but the waiting is awful. I am very impressed that she is doing her DDs. ![]() ![]() to you both. I haven't been around much, just real life getting in the way.

Yennie, it isn't good to push yourself physically after having flu, as you can make yourself very ill. Do take it easy if you can. Carly, thinking of you and your DW as you wait for the results. ![]() |

Thanks guys
I like the broth idea. I bet it was an insulin spike that caused the hunger during the juice fast. I am not sure how I made it three days, it was just one of those things I just focused on other things when I felt hungry and drank water or fizzy water and it seemed to get me through. I am trying it again today for my DD. Fingers crossed Thanks for the advice guys ![]() |

Thanks everyone for your concern about my poor lungs. Today I had to wear a surgery-type mask for a while at work and I Could. Not. Breathe. It was awful. If this is what it feels like to be asthmatic, my heartfelt condolences to anyone with asthma.
I'm about 99% sure I'm just going to bail on the 1/2 on the 17th - I can take my son and we can cheer on Daddy. I'll decide about the 15K when it gets closer. Boo! But, as you say, many more races to come. |

I get respiratory-infection-induced asthma but don't get asthma any other time. It sounds like that might be what happened to you. There's also "exercise-induced asthma," triggered by working out and asthma triggered by breathing cold air. While asthma is a chronic disease for many, for a minority of people asthma is mostly absent but can be set off by specific circumstances like flu or bronchitis--and then I can imagine exercise or cold air or pollution setting it off again, until one's lungs had fully recovered from an infection.
I really hope that you feel recovered soon but give the race a pass. I found that sleeping propped up by pillows and breathing steamy air in the bathroom, with a hot shower running, helped me cope with respiratory-induced asthma. Your doctor may be willing to prescribe something; I use 2 kinds of inhalers (rescue and preventative) when I get a respiratory infection, to keep my asthma under control. I never had asthma before I got pertussis a couple of years ago, but since then, a bad cold/bronchitis/flu can set it off. |

![]() ![]() I came here to report on DD donuts, but saw Carly's news, which is far more important. Plus I was not up for chocolate on top of chocolate, and filled with chocolate (brownie dough). If you like bavarian creme, go for it. There are better desserts out there, however. Oh, and it's 310 calories...little less than the brownie dough donut.

You know what... we should celebrate. I'm gonna ask DW what she wants to do. It can be a no cancer/ yay for calling goal celebration. (Maybe tomorrow though 'cause I'm cold, tired and it's a DD.)

Went to the doctor today. The doctor office scale weighed me 2 pounds lighter after lunch than my morning fast weight today at home. That made me smile.
