January was a slow month...looking forward to a fabulous February! Goal: 218, exercise 5 days a week and reduce carbs.

2/1 - 227 - MD (Don't like to use an MD, but Superbowl just can't be a DD) - hip hop aerobics
2/2 - 224.9 - DD - 1 hour walk (with short stops to take photos and take in the views!)
2/3 - 223.4 - UD - That makes 50 pounds evicted!
2/4 - 225.1 - DD
2/5 - 223.3 - UD - glow aerobics
2/6 - 225.0 - DD - cardio kickboxing
2/7 - 223.5 - UD
2/8 - 225.5 - DD - hip hop aerobics
2/9 - 223.6 - UD - slightly disappointed the scale isn't moving, but I know it's the increased exercise, so ... keep calm and carry on!

Congratulations on your 2 pounds. That's a really good week!

I can't emphasize enough that this is NOT the way to go. You need to eat closer to your UD numbers or you could fall into the dreaded "starvation" mode and not lose at all. The magic of JUDDD happens with the wide swing between UD and DD calories. I've seen over and over again, people lowering their UD calories, either intentionally or by accident, and it's backfired. You don't have to hit the UD number exactly, but IIRC, your UD number is closer to 2400 (?). You'll sabotage yourself if you go to 1500. Please try to do JUDDD for at least a month with the numbers given before you start changing things too much. You'll never know if it's going to work for you if you don't do it the way it's intended to be done.

Yes, I was happy with my loss.
I will continue doing JUDDD the way it says too.I really don't intend to try to change the plan I am just having such a difficult time sticking with the DD calories(the HCG kept me from being hungry.) Last night I ws so hungry I could have eaten the south end of a skunk headed north).But I just went to bed.So today, I went back to the calulator and refigured at 25% with light exercise 1-3 days a week instead of sendentary.So instead of 2083 at 20% on UD I will get 2387 UD and @20% on DD it was 441 Now it is DD 597.That I honestly think I can live with.

I haven't been exercising as it is very difficult with my knees and arthritis. But I have a walking the pounds off and also I have a one of those stretch bands(forget what they are called)I am going to begin to do those on UD. I believe it will help me loose.And I don't have to keep up with the tape, all I really need to do is keep moving.I will get out doors once it warms up

Berta, I saw the page in the book you referenced, and Dr. J *does* say to increase your DD calories after two weeks. It seems opposite from what everyone has said to me. I haven't read the book yet, but was able to get a copy and see where you pointed this out. However, on the next page he says your weight-loss will reflect how low you can manage to go on DD's. He suggests going up to 25-35% if 20% is too restrictive for you. He reasons that you will not be able to continue on this diet, just as any other diet you have quit in the past, if you can't follow the parameters. Therefore, 35% restriction on DD's is perfectly fine for health benefits and weight loss, just a bit slower than at 20%. I hope this helps!!

Like Dawn said, though, don't under any circumstances restrict UD's! You *must* eat within 200-300 of your maximum allowance on UD's, if you can't eat all of it. The UD's keep the body from thinking you are starving it, and therefore it will release fat and you will *lose* weight. If you restrict on both UD's and DD's, your body will try to hold onto every lb, sensing that you are starving it.

It's driving me bonkers not being able to copy/paste in this thread anymore i did find an app for my new phone to track my weight, but it's just not the same sigh...

2/12 140 new low however, i've only lost a pound total for the month so far-i think my body may have weight loss fatigue i'm sooo close to goal too-a bit frustrating!
