I *wish* I had kept some of my cute clothes that I finally got rid of when I stayed 50-70 lbs overweight for over 10 years. Now, I only have a couple pair of jeans and a pair of shorts...some blouses that are fitting again too (jeans, shorts, not yet). At the rate I'm going at 2 lbs a month, it's not likely that I'll be able to fit the 14 jeans, but it's something to work at!!!

I don't know how to put a picture in a post, but here is a link to a picture I took of myself in my goal dress. I couldn't get my whole body in the picture so you have to look at both pictures to get the whole idea, my top half is average while my bottom half is extra large lol
You have to scroll down to see the 2nd picture

Everyone's dresses are so cute! I have this red dress I wore back in the day...bought it for a cruise...I think I still have it. When we moved from MN to WA I purged alot of my "I'm keeping this cuz some day I'll fit in it again" clothes. Less to move. But I think I kept the dress.

Cindy, I know how frustrated you must be with the slow weight loss. This whole month I lost less than 2.5 lbs. too. That's why at this point, rather than give up on IF altogether out of frustration with the scale, I'd much rather focus on fitting more comfortably in a smaller size of clothing. We can do this!

P.S. I'm switching to the 5:2 plan starting Feb. 1, since to me there's no point in having to do 3 DDs weekly to lose less than 1/2 lb. a week.

Thanks for asking Tex. I'm not going to continue doing UDs & DDs anymore. For the next two weeks, I'll be following the South Beach phase 1 food plan to get back under control of my carb. cravings, along with two 500 calorie days on Mon. & Wed. I'll be checking back here with you all in the very near future to congratulate all your after photos!

I'm changing my plan ... I went shopping for a cute dress I could buy in one size smaller, and I couldn't find one. I really want a *spring* dress, and they aren't out yet apparently. So I'll just shop in early April ... that way I can be sure it will fit right on April 5th.

Good idea Cali! My dress is sleeveless and shows my legs up to the knee and I wouldn't be caught dead in it right now, but I think it will be very flattering 20 pounds from now(keeping my fingers crossed on that one), but it is possible I might change my goal dress before then too. My main goal is just wearing a dress period!
Every time another woman at work wears a dress, I am so envious, and I will be ecstatic when I feel comfortable enough to wear one!
Hoping this challenge will help encourage us to stay on plan

I'm in! My 1x dresses that don't fit well now, should by then.
Riskier would be the size 18 pants I've bought on sale and are waiting for....

Ps, this is the one that's just too tight to breathe...

That dress has some amazing colors soren! I bet it will great on you!

I have decided (after a dismal session trying on things from my closet) that my April 15th goal will be to wear any of my size 4 pants. I have a really nice pair that I used to wear all the time and I can't wear now (well, unless I want to breathe) and a few other pairs that someone gave me. I know pair is a skinny jean type that I might just toss because I really don't like the cut of them but the rest should be ok. I just hate the feeling of knowing something USED to fit and now it doesn't. There is also a shirt in a beautiful blue (like one of the colors in the dress above) with sparkly stripes that I would love to wear that is right now just posing as a decoration in my closet LOL So if I can wear the sparkly shirt and the size 4 pants together I will be thrilled!!

Thank you, Nana. I haven't checked this thread in a while, so I missed this. I am actually doing the 5:2 as well. I went five days without a DD until yesterday and went down as much as after eod DD's...I'm not positive I will stay on this 5:2 plan, but it's definitely looking enticing. What I've noticed is that most of the JB's who've switched to this are either in maintenance or have 10 or less lbs to lose. It scares me a little to try it, when I have over 50 to go.

Hope to see you over at the 5:2 thread! Usually the closer you are to goal, the more difficult it is to lose body fat instead of muscle. Trying to lose those last 10 vanity pounds of fat and maintain it, are enough to drive me crazy in the process by becoming too obsessed with the number on the scale.

Best wishes on your progress!

What a great idea, Tex! I just bought a Small size top the other day, a little too snug at the moment but hopefully will fit nicely on April 5th, without highlighting the "middle wear"!

OK I'm in. I have a cute Bench tunic that looks great - till I put the rest of my clothes on!
I want it to have enough room to look good over my jeans.

I'm almost at goal. It took me two months to lose my last 4lbs, so hopefully this will turn out to be a maintenance challenge, not a goal challenge!

I have a lot of size 8 stuff that I used to fit in. Now it's a bit too snug (read: seams might bust!) and so i'd like to be able to wear the stuff COMFORTABLY. I'm currently in size 10 dress pants and 8 jeans (old navy, but they're so worn in that I think that's why they fit ) and the dress pants are loose but not loose enough where they're falling off. I need them to fall off. Okay not really but you get what I mean!

Katie!

I've been looking through some old photos on my computer to see if I could find a photo of myself the last time I was wearing a size 6 dress. The photo I found was of me at the weight of 138 on my birthday in April 2008. I remember wearing that dress then, because I was attending my DIL's wedding shower.

I can't say if I'd wear such a bold pattern again, but I will definitely dig it out of the back of my closet and try it on again to see how it fits. Just for a chuckle, here's a photo of me wearing it for the one and only time. I just noticed my head looks a tad bit too big for my body at that size, so I've decided that I definitely won't go any lower in weight than 138 to avoid looking like a lollipop.

SlimN - you look GREAT in that picture and I really LOVE that dress!

I just unpacked from my last trip and the 14/16 dress that I want/need to fit into was hung and put away... but not for long!

I stand corrected. I just found that old blue wrap dress in my closet, and it's a size 8. I tried it on and it actually looks better now that my boobs are a liitle bigger, since I'm an extra ten pounds heavier.

Thanks Soren!

Great! Go ahead and take the photo, even if you don't feel comfortable posting it now. Just imagine how glad you'll be to have the before photo to compare your after with, when you see how much progress you made in only a month. It's so inspiring when you see other's before & afters too!

Well, I'm back to ADF. I was pleased that I didn't gain on 5:2, and I only gave it a week (well, 5 days ), but it helped to make me more committed to JUDDD again. I may well visit it again in the future (near or far).
