I'm trying to work my way down to nothing but coffee, tea (both with cream), and water on a DD. Any calories would come from the cream, of course, but the fat from it keeps me feeling not as hungry. I've been putting off eating anything until after I get home from work, so hopefully I'll get there soon.

Getting through the work day is a breeze. It's when I get home that gets harder unless I make sure I have stuff to do!

Don't give up the idea. It took me many months before I ever did a liquid down day. Like seriously, nine or ten months in. And even now, I don't do them very often, maybe once a week.

It's really not a requirement to be successful on this WOE. I lost most of my weight eating every one of those 500 calories.

I did my first liquid DD (around 200 calories, just tea with some half and half, plain tea, and chicken broth) yesterday, and FINALLY the scale dropped. I'm going to see if I can keep up the really low liquid down days until I get to the non-obese point on the scale (which is about 10 pounds away). I'll try to do it, anyway .... but so far I've only done one.

Good for you Sven. I bet you can keep it up. I always wondered if there were some way to make a good low calorie old fashioned soda w/cream.

I know that some people drink a diet soda with a Tablespoon of heavy cream added to it. Maybe that will be one of my meals tomorrow. Now, shall I try it with diet root beer or diet cherry cola?

Thanks for the vote of confidence, hot-in-texas. I'll try to not let both of us down. I just arranged to meet friends at a concert tomorrow, rather than meeting them for dinner before the concert, so step 1 is taken care of. And I've got the flavored teas and the cream (step 2). I might try this soon. Since trying this fast5 thing, I have realised I can make it to 4pm with just water. Today I made it to 5pm. If I can keep moving it up bit by bit i should get there (or I hope so anyways )
Usually on DD's I have this problem. I get hungry about 1pm so i have a 150 cal lunch and then REALLY struggle for the rest of the day, even with high fat/low carb. Cant wait to give it a go, but how do you judd budds that have tried it sleep after a complete fast day I wonder? I struggle after eating a 300 cal dinner, cant imagine an empty belly

I'm pretty much the same. If I don't start I don't get hungry or if I do it passes quickly. I have to eat a small bedtime snack because medication I take needs some food. I wish I could get by without, because even though it's like 9:30pm it can wake my hungry monster right when I'm trying to sleep.

I totally agree. I do eat dinner on DDs, but if I eat much earlier, I struggle with hunger. I think I could do a complete fast, but since so many have said it doesn't boost their losses, I figure...why?

I'm like many others in that once I eat something, the hunger monster wakes up and I want to keep eating.

So, on DDs I try to hold off as long as possible.

Yesterday I managed a 40 calorie day! Just had half and half in my coffee first thing in the morning and lots of water throughout the day. I was surprised to not get hungry at all. I was planning a 200 calorie dinner, but decided to pass since DH was out of town and nothing was tempting me.

This morning I started out with hot green tea, then an hour later hot chocolate with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil stirred in. I'm going to try to wait until 2 p.m. and then have chicken breast and salad. I know this is an UD but I think there may be some benefit to having the EVCO early in the day and doing solid food later.

My most tempting time food wise is dinner and after dinner. So, saving my calories until then might work better for me.

I'm off to a good start with my second fluids only DD. I'm sipping coffee with 2 T. of cream; that may be the only calories I have today, or I may have two cups of tea, each with 1 T. cream. Plus lots of water and plain tea.

I'd prefer to be using half-and-half instead of HWC, but I'd have to walk to the store to get it, and the windchill temperature is 30 below today in Minneapolis. I'm taking cabs to and from work today, and looking forward to it warming up (i.e., above zero temps) this weekend.

Good job!! Personally, I'd rather have the HWC. I end up putting double the half-and-half, which totally defeats the purpose. I HWC.

I hope to be down to just liquids on a DD soon. Once food goes into the mouth it's harder to keep out even if I wait towards the end of the day or stick to a routine menu. Plus I'm desperate for the pounds to begin flying off this body!!!

Yep, add me to the not hungry until I eat club. I found that out on my very 1st DD. One string cheese later & I was miserable the rest of the day. I try to last as long as possible on fluids only for DDs.

Hello I have wanted to jump on the JUDDD wagon but according to his calculator (unless I have done it incorrectly) my DD is 318 calories which put me right off the program as that would just keep me hungry.

However, reading this has made me think I could do it, because I am also one of those who are better of not eating. My initial kick start to my weight loss started with the green juice fast. I lasted 21 days! Lost a pile of weight and have kept it off, and then continued my weight loss with other methods.

What I plan to do on DD is have three tablespoons of MCT oil throughout the day which will help to keep the hunger at bay and burn fat. MCT oil is tasteless but I could also do the pinch nose method of the Shangri La Diet which would combine the two diet programs. I think it could be really effective if I could last the day. I will let you know how it goes.

I think it's a "man thing". My bf, who doesn't need to lose weight (5'll, 160 lbs naked) can go all day without eating. Then he can eat all night, lol, but still he doesn't eat that many calories...I find a cereal bowl, a popsicle wrapper, gum (chewing gum!) wrappers, soda cans....I bet he only consumes around 2000 calories if that, with reg soda.

ETA: I cook dinner most nights. I work all day and I don't even try to cook breakfast for either of us. He eats what I cook, when I cook, but usually takes out more than he can eat in one sitting. He will give half (or a little less) to our cats and dogs, and then want to eat leftovers later.

I've done it a couple of times, and there's nothing wrong with doing it, but like Dawn, I did NOT notice a difference on the scale (which seems surprising, no?). So, it's not something I do on a regular basis ... I only do it if I'm just not hungry (that is rare!) or feel like doing it for another reason other than weight loss.

That's great Vanilla!

When I first started JUDDD, I'd never have believed I could go through the day on tea alone and not feel hungry! However, I've discovered that the longer I go without food, the easier it is.

On DD yesterday, I wasn't really hungry but thought I should have some soup about 6pm. It woke the hunger monster and I felt famished by 8pm!

I decided that next time I'm not hungry on a DD I'll do without food for as long as I comfortably can and, who knows, maybe I'll find myself doing a complete fast. If I need supper, then that will be fine too.

I love the way JUDDD dissolves our perceived limitations and we learn so much about our amazing bodies!!

Tomorrow is my first proper DD in awhile (been fast 5ing) and my aim is to 'liquidise' my day for as long as possible. My DD no are 346, which, if I'm honest, I haven't managed for so long I couldn't even say when!
Doing fast 5 has taught me about how the body reacts once you break your fast (breakfast). Until this happens, hunger as the fast 5 creator describes, is like a mild bruise. It's there, but as long as it stays out mind, it's tolerable.
Once I eat, its game over. Oh geez, I hope I can do it. I need a drop on the scale so badly.... I'm actually starting to creep up a bit. Wedding day less than 3 months away, agghhhh!!!
Positive attitude, positive attitude....
BTW, half and half, what is that? Maybe its not available in Australia, I have never heard of it (apart from when ALL you judd budds mention it!) what am I missing out on???

Half and half is similiar to light cream. My recommendation is a T in diet root beer. Tastes like a root beer float!

Imma have to try that Carly, sounds yummy! Another thing I was thinking is maybe some cream, crushed ice, soda water or seltzer water and a SF fruity syrup?

good luck SICCHI! That was a really good analogy, hunger is like a light bruise.

How is it going mojo?

Agreed, my favorite being that "hunger isn't an emergency". I do great when I'm at work, but boy once I get home and put anything in my mouth, it gets harder to keep anything else out. The other thing I'm trying to realize is once I get home, I've done the majority of the "hard work" in that I've been pretty much fasting for 17 hours. Roughly 5 more until I go to bed but even if I go ahead and have a few food calories, it's okay.

Anything carby sets me off but naturally, what do I do? Grab something out of the pantry (instant carbs!). I might do even better at doing only liquids if the bounce would start diminishing a bit.
