Try glugging down a shot (1-2T) of organic apple cider vinegar to squash that appetite(rinse with water after, it can erode your tooth enamel).

Not controversial, but they do worry me. Try more Ptero, it is supposed to help us remember, maybe to remember to forget about food????

I was going to say something like Oprah yesterday when I originally posted, but you all don't know me well here and I didn't want to seem snarky. But really, if there were something that made it easy, nobody would be overweight, and there would be no WW/Jenny Craig, etc.

It's just plain hard, and I think knowing that gives us empathy for others with the same struggle.

Was wondering if the original poster ever found something? I'm out for the summer (I'm a teacher) and although I lost 14 pounds during the school year, I'm terrified of gaining back over the summer. My first day off and I'm already "celebrating" the beginning of summer with a cookie and handful of chips. Yikes! I know I won't be this bad all summer, but being at home all day has it's downside (like a stocked pantry, fridge, etc.).

After scouring the boards I've decided to try apple cider vinegar (which also is supposed to help with my reflux), but I stumbled upon this thread and just wondered if Cindy ever found an answer...

Hi Lcmiller. I never did get an appetite suppressant. That was 2 months into JUDDD for me, and I am now six months into it and it naturally has a built-in appetite suppressant that happens for most JUDDDers in the first few months. I was forced to do without any artificial help, and now I rarely have unmanageable hunger on Down Days. The ptereostilbene does help, and it's available here at Netrition and some drug stores. I haven't even taken it in a couple of months now.

I don't take anything but came across something on Facebook called Skinny Fiber. I guess it's fiber pills that expand in your stomach to make you full. It's expensive so I would not even be able to try it but I'm sure you can google it and see if it would help you. The best appetite suppressant I have found is just eating as late in the day as possible. Once I start I can't stop!

I agree!! Every "FDA approved" stimulant type of diet pill (as well as some herbal supplements) that has been on the market has been associated with heart attacks or damage to heart valves or other heart problems.

Something like fiber pills or glucomannan, as suggested above, seems safe and might help.

The diet pills I took in the past (that had a now banned ingredient in them) made me so jittery that I couldn't sit still, but they did suppress my appetite. (I didn't really take the FOR appetite suppression though, I took them for energy when I worked 12 hr shifts, 7 pm to 7 am, 7 days a week)

Now it's not DD's I have the problem with (except on occasion), it's the UD's that I lose control with, although ptero helps ALOT.

In addition to fiber pills, I've seen some commercials for a new product that us, I think, about 90 cals that is a chocolate flavored bar thing. They say eat it with a glass of water &vthe fiber makes you feel full, the flavor makes it like you're having a treat. Can't remember what they're called but I imagine they're in the diet section of most grocery & drug stores. The actresses in the commercials have been dressed in the most atrocious outfits, which is why it stands out to me.

Or you could eat glucomannan. I think most of those bars must have that in it. It makes your tummy fill full. There's a thread on gluc recipes on here somewhere.

I think that amino acids in general have appetite suppressing qualities. I have been taking taurine for awhile now. It also helps keep off water weight.

I've found extra chromium is good at appetite suppression. I've rarely taken it, but I did notice this effect when I have.

Skinny Fiber

Greetings,

I started Atkins again about a month ago and remembered my membership here.

Speaking of the product Skinny Fiber, I have been taking it nearly a month now and I like it. It seems that it effects everyone's appetite differently. I have friends that it really suppresses their appetite.

The cool thing is it's all natural and does not make one shake. LOL

I'm always on a look out for appetites sollutions... since I love to have seconds and sometimes thirds

I like your suggestions and will save this post as future reference.

Thanks everyone.

I never did look into skinny fiber bars. I have become more relaxed in general about DDs. I don't know if that's good or bad, lol. Today is a DD and I've had around 700 calories. I am also on vacation so I look at it as a victory that I'm doing a DD at all. I'm pleased most days at how I'm shaping up on JUDDD, and I've come to realize it's going to take a lot longer than I originally thought to get to my goal. So, no more stressing about whether I'm doing it perfectly or not. At least not today!

Thanks for the heads up on the skiny fiber bars. I looked up the 2 fibers used in
that bar and see both of them are water soluable. While I haven't used this skiny
fiber bar I have been using another soluable fiber inulinFos. I have noticed a verry
slight appetite reduction and it seems to have lowered my blood sugar just a little.

It's really quite high (calories) compared to most JUDDDers on the fasting day. It works for me sometimes.

I didn't realize it was a capsule. I guess I didn't read very well!

I would have a hard time just eating 700 calories. I would starve...LOL. but yeah..it skinny fiber is all natural without jitters and I really like it. My friend I spoke to last night, really loves it and she went from size 12 to size 3...
Perhaps I could do Judd with skinny fiber ..? but for now low carb helps me and I don't feel like I'm starving.

You could try JUDDD, but you will feel hunger. I had never experienced hunger much in my life before this WOE. I know it's not an emergency and that I could eat if I wanted. The body is freed from constantly digesting food to actually healing and other good stuff, so that's always on my mind too. Plus, it's just for one day.

Member of the don't eat YET program

I have 2 mugs coffee every morning. I do put a tbs. of HWC and sugar sub.

I drink a homemade LC kefir because I need it. Then I just don't eat until

much later. I really like to have a main meal about 3 in the afternoon.

That will keep me until the evening Relax tea with 1 tbs. HWC.

If I eat first thing in the a.m. then I'm hungry all the day long.

Greetings Barbo,

I am very bad with acronyms. If you don't mind, please tell me what is HWC. and does this work as good as skinny fiber? I would like to try other things just incase my fiber will discontinue in the future ..

LibraryGirl, I would give skinny fiber a try...it does curb your appetite.

HWC is Heavy Whipping Cream. It can have a satiating effect for people who feel fuller with fat rather than fiber or protein.

Then you might know my friend. Her DH is in the Navy, and she's an author (working on her second book about a little boy named Sid with Asperger's, if you know her work). The weather here is dreadfully hot!

Protein makes me hungry. Fat makes me hungry. I do best with a mix of protein and bulky veggies. Each of us is different. Several have found that very small portions of just fat keeps them full for hours.
