I guess the menu will be whatever I can scrounge around the house now!

We're off today too and I already sent my kids outside in the negative degree wind chill-they're driving me  today! Not having school yesterday either, because of MLK day, didn't help-two days in a row of being cooped up is making us all :stars:

I might brave the cold and take us all to the library this afternoon-they have a play area to give my kids something to do and I can play online there

Flutter 01-22-2013 09:03 AM

Sara, yep! I feel your pain! My kids had Friday & Monday off, now today. It's a bit easier b/c my boys are teens & my DD is 9, so not as bad these days. I think I'll take advantage of us all being home bound & make my 16yo do some of his homework due later this week. He is such a procrastinator! ;)

Librarygirl 01-22-2013 09:19 AM

I had yesterday off and back at work today. Flutter, I didn't know you guys cancelled school due to temps! We are in the 40s today all day, which is unusual in S.C.

Thinking about making a chicken curry/coconut soup for dinner, and add spinach to it. Trying to eat healthier on UD's. :)

Flutter 01-22-2013 09:24 AM

LG, I was born here and we never used to close for "extreme" temps. We had alot more of them back then, too! DH told me it was -6 actual temp according to the car thermometer on his way to work. Not sure what that makes adding windchill in, but it was darned cold! I personally think it's just b/c it's another not snowy winter here and the districts have snow days to use. ;) When it's snowy winters & they've used a bunch, we can have super cold air PLUS icky roads and they won't close. Of course, that's JMO! ;)

route66 01-22-2013 09:29 AM

B - Coffee w/ cream 100 cal
L - Smoothie and half sandwich 490
S - preztels and apple 160
D - TJs farfalle cheese & spinach frozen dinner 390

Something else yummy, I suppose...I am only at about 1100 cal here. Seemed like a lot more food when I entered it in my tracker. :-)

I wondered that too lol. The wind chill was below negative this morning though, and the roads were really slippery because the salt wasn't working, so that's probably why so many schools closed today :) However, my mil works for a inner city type of school in our area and they had school today, which she was not happy about because so many of the students walk to school  Also Grand Rapids public, the big one around here, was open today-again, lots and lots of walkers. If I was a parent of a walker and I didn't have a way to drive my kids to school this morning, I so would have called them in today. My mil had 7 kids missing from her class today!

Enjoying my day's food.

B a delicious orange
L 2 slices of grilled cheese on toast
D Pork steak with roast butternut squash onions and peppers
S Capuccino

LoCarbGal 01-22-2013 09:50 AM

B: Coffee w/HWC - prob'ly 2 cups
L: 3 small yukon gold potatoes w/butter & sour cream
D: gimlet, meatloaf, roasted yams, maybe brussel sprouts

I may have some cals left, so PB or almonds after dinner!

Luv2Eat 01-22-2013 10:11 AM

Coffee
Chocolate Coconut Bark with Almond Butter
Couldn't resist the cake that ds, who is training to be a Chef, made - spice with cream cheese frosting :yummy: Only ate the icing with a bit of cake
Whole egg + white omlette with onions, jalapeno and cheese
Handful of roasted almonds

Almost half my ud calorie allotment already, was very hungry last ud, kept to the calories anyway. Was hungry all day yesterday dd too. Hence, the early morning calorie rush. Feeling pretty satisified at the moment.

Kissa 01-22-2013 11:20 AM

Ooooh a chef in the family, that will be heaven. :)

mom23kids 01-22-2013 11:43 AM

Well, lunch consisted of bagel chips with cream cheese/ranch season salt dip :yummy: The calories were really high since I ate a lot of it :o But totally worth it lol. Still don't know what supper will be.

Kissa 01-22-2013 11:59 AM

Add some lovely herbed olives and a some open champagne found in the fridge which was okay after 2 weeks! Can't waste these things...

Librarygirl 01-22-2013 12:10 PM

Yum, Cindy. No, must not waste champagne! :D

Well, I've nibbled my way to 900 calories!!! Maybe more, lol. Not too worried though and will plan on having dinner plus dessert. :)

Eieio 01-22-2013 12:26 PM

Librarygirl 01-22-2013 04:08 PM

Tex, I did a double take when i read your menu. 13 beers! :D :D

KeirasMom 01-22-2013 04:40 PM

That's how I read it the first time too. :hyst:

Librarygirl 01-22-2013 05:19 PM

I'm at around 1600 now...calculated 1490, but I sure didn't measure all the cream in my coffee so I'll add some. :D Chili on the stove, but no appetite for it. I think I need some more Prilosec (ran out a week ago)...have that full, yucky feeling in the back of my throat.

hot-in-texas 01-22-2013 06:49 PM

Well I went over on my calories tonight and also found my trigger food:help:
I made home made deep fried wontons filled with veggies and beef. I ate 1000 calories of those suckers and could have done it 5 times over, easily. And now my hunger monster is turned on. What to do???:(
