Would a JUDDD BUDDD help me with DH's DD/UD pretty please?

:jumpjoy: My hubby decided to try JUDDD because he's seen the success I've had so far (lost 25# woohoo!!) Thing is, he's a truck driver and he works M-F night, then is off on the weekends.

I do a 'conventional' *sorta!* MWF DD's with a MD on Saturday so that we can enjoy lunch with our kids who come home for Late Lunch on Sunday around 2 PM (UD), and he'd like to do the same with his weekends.

Thing I'm having trouble with, is his Sunday daytime eating. How does that fit? Will it fit in our rotation schedule and can he lose weight this way (flip-flopping on Sunday)?? His meals on Saturday will be breakfast then fast till dinner, then an UD Sunday:confused::confused: then he usually will sleep all day Monday in order to work that night. Please help me O wise Ones here! Thanks in advance!

Y'all sound like a great family! I love the way you already have his Saturday planned out. :)
Could he do Saturday an UD, Sunday a MD with late lunch being his only meal and fasting breakfast and dinner, and then Monday a DD again with his first meal being in the am( a smoothie or somerrthing).?
Good luck!

I'm sorry I'm confused I guess. Why can't he follow your schedule? He is just awake different hours, but can follow the same days you do, right?

Bows1 01-21-2013 08:52 AM

Thanks so much for the compliment HIT!! I do love our family!

He'll be doing a DD on Friday night-does that change anything? This is so confusing to me, and I appreciate the help so much!

So to tell the whole story he'd have his DD during the night on Friday, then he'd have a very light breakfast, then fast till dinner where he'd make up the rest of his MD calories, then he'd sleep Saturday night, then have an UD Sunday during the day, then fast from 4PM Sunday or so until waking up Monday night and starting his week with a DD. Is that ok?

If you or anyone thinks this just won't work, I'm ok with hearing that too:)

Bows1 01-21-2013 08:54 AM

Yes, Carly,..I'm confused too! LOL! Does that post^^^ help explain at all?

LoCarbGal 01-21-2013 08:56 AM

I'm not sure, but I think I understand the schedule you have plotted out. It sounds good to me. And guys always lose easier anyway, so he may have some leeway with the exact hours. I think since most of the week his schedule is pretty stable, his fasting hours will remain effective. You'll just have to give it a try and see how he does. Let us know!

Carly 01-21-2013 08:57 AM

That should be fine. I think he will have to try it out. It may be easier for him to just do traditional UD/DD rotations and that may not be a bother to him. If his DD calories are over 600 as many men's are he may be able to enjoy his weekend DD with out the hastle of a MD.

Ooh, how exciting! I hope you both have great success...it's so awesome to be able to do things together! Sounds like you have a good plan, to me. (best I can follow, lol!) Keep us posted!

Sounds OK to me. I was wondering if Saturday could be an UD and then Sunday fast until late lunch and make Sunday the MD. Monday could be a DD again. But I think you need one of the resident experts to help you like Nancy or Adi
My parents owned donut shops so my dad worked from midnight til 8 am. It was difficult! Sounds like you guys have it worked out though!

Thank you all SOOOO so much for your help!!! It is so exciting to be doing this together:) I ran his #s through the calculator and dangit! Men get so many calories! HAHA! Yes, his DDs are over 600!

Anyone else who would like to share there wisdom with me would be APPRECIATED! Thanks again, everyone! My dear JBs!:heart:

He might even have really good results doing the 5:2 plan and then he could just pick two set DDs and be done with having to think about it at all. :dunno:

Yennie 01-21-2013 11:35 AM

Sorry, newbie here. What's a MD?

Bows1 01-21-2013 12:09 PM

Medium day..they get thrown in if someone wants to keep UD/DD the same each week, and they work for some (and they still lose), as well as don't work for some.

Librarygirl 01-22-2013 07:11 PM

He could do the opposite of you and have MWF UD's, Sat. DD, and Sun. MD (to eat with family). That would work. :)

Bows1 01-23-2013 10:07 AM

:jumpjoy::jumpjoy: So excited for him! Is the 5:2 plan like what LG described?

Kissa 01-23-2013 10:26 AM

No, it is fasting on just 2 days a week, i.e. Monday and Thursday. It is the method that Dr Mike Mosley uses after making the Eat, Fast, Live programme.

Men seem to lose very well on it.

I am delighted that you have done so well and that DH is joining you. Whatever way he does it I am sure he will lose sickeningly quickly...

Bows1 01-23-2013 11:06 AM

HAHA I'm sure he will too! He's still unbelieving; in the sense that he doesn't believe he can eat over 3k on his UDs and lose! He'll probably catch up to my loss within 2 weeks! LOL!

Thank you all so much for your support!

Librarygirl 01-23-2013 05:31 PM

The way I suggested would be T, TH, S DD's, and MD on Sunday, but 5:2 would be easier. Since men do tend to lose easier and faster, maybe that's the best! :) Good luck to DH!

UPDATE:

He weighed Tuesday evening (before the start of his UD, which actually happens at night :stars:) and he lost 2 pounds his first week

He was totally NOT believing that he could eat so much on UDs and lose weight, but he got proof! I think his metabolism had been hibernating for awhile, and he woke it up! I can't wait for him to start feeling the *magic*!

Thanks to everyone's help SO much!! :hugs:

I weighed after yesterday's DD and I have lost a total of 28 pounds since October 17! *dancin* This was through the holidays and our 24th anniversary (we got all-you-can-eat pancakes:o)

I had a bit of a stall at 240 which is definitely a set point for me, then made some of Linda Sue's cream cheese clouds and had only those on 2 DDs and WHOOSH!:jumpjoy:
