A little invisible antiperspirant on the inside of the thighs works wonders & no worries about extra waist bands!

I have never had thigh rub although I have just lost 38 pounds. Was thin most of life and my thighs never even touched so no rub. Other body types might be a different story.

You are lucky, Adi. I think most of us have experienced the dreaded thigh rub at some point while being too big. I've lost a lot of weight and the rub isn't so bad anymore. Now I just want shapelier legs. I used to hate my ankles but they're almost normal now! lol

A dressmaker told me a long time ago-- get the bigger size, so that you can alter it down to fit you. So, wherever there's doubt, that's what I do now...

Cindy-- I know that LB sells stuff from both kiyonna and igigi, but they have their own sites too, and on those sites (at least at igigi, I think) you can have a wish list, so that if something is out of stock in your size, you'll get an email if/when they bring it back. And they do!
The dress I"m wearing in my avi <--------- was sold out right away, and I did the above, and got an email, and totally snapped it up.

as for a certain style, not sure what help I can be there, I just keep checking the sites, and I get their email so I'm up to date on what they have and what I might like... this might've led to me having SO MANY DRESSES... there's a blue paisely one I'm dying for now...

S.

eta: fwiw, igigi runs a bit big, and kiyonna is right on, for sizing.

I'm going to try finding it directly at kiyonna. I tried to post a picture of the dress, but couldn't.

Carly, I would like to see your picture with DW. Haha, at cradle robber. I guess I am too as bf is 32.

Usually the fitted boxer briefs have a thinner and non-gathered waistband. I prefer those but I'll wear regular boxers of his in a pinch AND if the dress is looser around the midsection.

Turns out it is a LB dress, but came up with the kiyonna brand. Since it is a sweater dress it's not likely to be available again this year. I hope I won't need to shop at LB next fall!

Dress. Dress. D-r-e-s-s. D-u-r-e-s-s? I think I used to wear those things but they caused me duress, so it's been ages since I've worn one.

... wait ... My DH would love to see me in one ...

I'll never forget the last time I wore a dress to work (in the summer). I had such a terrible case of rash on my thighs I had to take a huge dose of benedryl when I got home and go straight to bed!

I used to wear dresses and skirts all the time. I have pretty muscular legs, and they were always more comfortable than pants. NOW, I don't wear them at all, and really miss them! I am HOPING to be able to wear them again.

Just and FYI, Wal-mart has this stuff and it is FANTASTIC to avoid chafing!!!!

If you google it, you will see all kinds of testimonials. It has the same ingredients as high dollar primers. I tried it and it does work very nicely.

I haven't really worn many dresses over the past (gulp) 18 years, except for the odd wedding, but lately I've been buying heaps of dresses. And even though they are fitting me, I'm still scared to wear them. If I wear a dress ppl make such a big deal about me not wearing pants, and I hate drawing attn to myself!

I also bought this just for the primer aspect. It's great. Thankfully, I've never had to deal with the thigh rub thing. That may only be because I almost always wear pants.

You probably just have thinner legs, Dawn. I've always had bigger thighs and hips, even when not overweight.

I really couldn't find a dress that looked good at all at my highest weight, so I would avoid wearing one at all costs! Now, I'm finding some that I think look good, but I am still not wearing one unless it's a wedding or something. I see more dresses in my future as I lose, and I'm really looking forward to it. Ultimate: I dream of being able to wear a sleeveless summer dress!

Meeee! I am pretty much stuck in leggings because they stretch nicely.

I remember when I was slim I still got some sores on the upper inner thighs, it seems no matter what weight I am the very top part of my thighs (just below the lady parts) rub together . I sometimes would wear slimming shorts under a skirt but when I walked I could hear a swiping sound and I worried others would know what I was wearing underneath and more so that my thighs rubbed together!

Since I posted this thread I've become a bit obsessed with dresses! I found this wonderful company that makes the most gorgeous dresses, in ALL sizes, that look as if they would be perfect for plus sizes or curvy women. They range in price from $$ to $, some less than 50.00 and the look is quality. If you want to drool, check out Modcloth.

I ordered 2 cute tops. I got medium, but sizes are a real guess for me at this time. They said both blouse run true to size so we shall see.

I wear a LOT of dresses/skirts (see my avi!) but it's because i'm in between sizes! The size 10 dress pants are big on me and the 8s are like stuffed sausage. Ick.

Hopefully i'll be a loose size 8 by the time I finish this silly challenge at the gym (starts 2/11)!
