Nope. 36 hours is just an estimate anyway. Your DD starts when you finish eating on your UD and carries you through to your first meal on the following UD.

EX: I eat dinner at 6:00 p.m. today (UD) Then DD begins. I usually eat breakfast on my next UD around 7:00 a.m. That's 37 hours.

There have been some JUDDDers who found if they skip breakfast on UD, they're going over 40 hours, and actually stall. Others do fine with a Fast 5 type JUDDDing, where they only eat 2 meals each UD. YMMV.

I do the Fast 7. However I still DD at around 300-600 cals. Just one more tweak that fits into my plan. :)

Thank you!! The example helped!

LOL @waking hours! That would be enough for the villagers to come at the JUDDDers with pitchforks. :D :D

Just kidding, Tex. I had to comment. ;)

Isn't that 13 hours?:dunno: Wait, I see that you're counting DD as a fasting day as well. I sure do wish you could delete posts on this forum. I think I'd be a lot more popular, and probably considered a bit smarter.:p

wonderful JUDDD benefit: nothing under allotted calories counts on DD!

Librarygirl 01-16-2013 05:50 PM

Do you really think so, JayLynn? Lots of people try to go way under DD calories.

It makes a difference for me. Especially aiming at under 200 calories for some reason. Part of it is an insurance policy if I sleepwalk eat, but also if I go up to 300 which is still 30 under I feel really satisfied and didn't blow my DD:dunno:

Carly, do you stay under on your UDs too?

Librarygirl 01-16-2013 06:09 PM

I can see where it might, Carly. I was just questioning Jaylynn's statement about nothing *under* DD calories...I've read where other's said that it didn't make much difference if you fasted completely or ate at 20%. I definitely understand why you would want to stay under (to allot for potential sleep incidents). I'm just curious if I would have greater benefits by going lower than my numbers...trying to get to them now, lol.

No prob. I wasn't clear about the 24 hours of my DD thrown in the middle there. :D

Truthfully I haven't counted an UD since April, but during the time I was counting I stop 200 calories under for sleep walking debacles. At this point and for many months now I just eat what feels right on UDs. I probably have as many UDs that are a couple hundred low as I do that are a couple hundred high, again a total guess. I think this works for me because I never had issues with over eating- awake. I hate the feeling of being stuffed and never ate just to eat or because I was bored. I actually can't eat unless I'm kinda relaxed so this lends very naturally to not eating at all at work, since I'm usually on overdrive and will not have an appetite in that state. I guess maybe I'm so relaxed in my sleep that that could be why I sleepwalk eat. Who knows? It has been a curse for the last 15+ years. It's better than ever, but what I keep in the house is very minimal. A few 80 calorie yogurts, celery and lettuce. We buy UD dinner on that night on the way home from work. DW has been very supportive and I know she hides goodies around the apartment, but when sleepwalking I never seek out food other places than the kitchen apparently.

Oh, thats not what I meant. I meant the same as what Dawn said....Your DD starts when you finish eating on your UD and carries you through to your first meal on the following UD.

I'm sorry that was so confusing. I didn't mean the calories don't count.
