On a parallel note, when I read The Magician's Nephew (Narnia) to my son when he was just 6 or 7, he was so focused on the 'Turkish Delight' that the white Witch gave to Edmund. He talked about it for years, he wanted to try it. We bought some at a Greek restaurant when he was about 9. Little did I know, they sell it at Walmart, needless to say, it wasn't very good :/
I remember this in the book so well. I wanted to try it so badly. My brother lives in Ohio and has maple trees and taps them and makes the most wonderful syrup in the world. I was there after a fresh snow and we poured the syrup on the snow and it was like eating a slice of heaven. When I was in Vermont, I stocked up on all the maple syrup candies I could that were made in those cute little maple leaf molds. I want some now!!
