TGIF!!! DD Friday, Let's Do It!

Trying for a lower DD, but still may come in at 500...not going to sweat it if I feel like I need to eat. So far nothing but 3/4 c. of coffee w/1 T light cream and 1 T of peppermint mocha (35 total).

How's your DD going? :)

KeirasMom 01-11-2013 08:26 AM

Ha! I just did a DD thread too. Mine's going great so far. I had breakfast, which I "never" do on a DD. ;)

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 08:27 AM

Uh oh. I looked and didn't see one. We must have posted simultaneously. :D

KeirasMom 01-11-2013 08:38 AM

We can use yours. I'll direct others to this one.

adillenal 01-11-2013 08:48 AM

AsmallerME 01-11-2013 10:38 AM

After struggling with sticking with LC, I've decided to commit to a 2-week JUDDD rotation and allow carbs and see how I do. So far so good. Granted I just ate lunch. ;)

B: oatmeal
S: coffee w/ cream
L: sm. chili w/ hot sauce
S: diet soda
---
500ish calories, maybe slightly under

LoCarbGal 01-11-2013 10:47 AM

So far nothing at nearly noon. I'll have a cup of coffee & HWC soon. Chicken for dinner. Maybe some broth if I need it. I would love to get in a lower cal DD today, Cindy. Let's see if we can do it!

Truffles 01-11-2013 11:25 AM

Coffee and 1 red potato to start the day. 50 cal
Vegetable stew later for 110 cal
Broth and hot tea throughout the day
Yogurt later 80 cal
Looking to be at 400 for the day.

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 11:31 AM

Flutter, I love your new ticker! :)

LCG, I ain't making any promises! :D :D I'm at 250 now...Had a very satisfying lunch of 1 slice of buffalo chicken, 1 slice of cheddar, 3 cucumbers peeled and sliced with vinegar and salt, and two sea salt rice cakes with chipotle cream cheese.:yummy:

I'm going to stop by the store and see if I can find a tea Dawnyama recommended...if so, might be satisfied with that (plus a little cream and splenda :yummy:)...

Luna Loca 01-11-2013 12:52 PM

Great DD today so far! Went to lunch with friends and had no problems having my tea as they ate. No hunger.

Breakfast: Tea with whole milk
Lunch: Tea with whole milk
Dinner: don't know yet, we're staying with others so dinners are group decisions made late in the afternoon, right before the grocery store run to get items for said dinner.

This is one of the challenges of the nomadic lifestyle that DH and I are living, is the planning is very tough to do. But the beauty of JUDDD is that you don't need special foods to do it. Fasting all day and having a modest meal for dinner is a perfectly fine way of living my life. I had to build up to it, but now it's easy peasy.

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 01:13 PM

Luna, that sounds nice. Do you and dh travel all the time? Do you mind me asking what kind of work that you do? Your lifestyle sounds so exotic!! :)

Lychee 01-11-2013 01:31 PM

Not going exactly as planned, but as long as I get through the rest of the day, I'll be okay. I snacked on hummus and blueberries. Probably 350-400 calories? I was feeling hungry, so I'm having almond milk now to just fill me up and help me get through it. What I should have done is stuck with lemon water until later in the day and then had the almond milk, then I would have been golden. But that's okay. There'll be another down day soon. :) Thinking about the fact that I get to have an up day and planning all the healthy stuff I'm going to eat helps to not have me go off the rails.

Luv2Eat 01-11-2013 01:35 PM

This is a wonderful day for a DD, I'm feeling really good! Seems like the sirts have picked up this week, or else I'm getting used to a light headed feeling, lol! In any case, it does feel like a flow of happiness. . . . :)
I've found that DD's are easier for me these days with mostly liquid. Coffee, Splenda Coke, Tea.
I went to the store and picked up some tea from the tea thread. This is a fun change of pace.

Lychee, you're doing great! Congratulations for getting started, the beginning is challenging - on JUDDD, tomorrow is always another day!! When the sirts start flowing, it'll be much easier

Flutter 01-11-2013 01:45 PM

Tks LG!

Another hungry DD for me. I've been attempting to bulk up with more veggies (both DD & UD) but I seem to be hungrier. hmph! I need to go back and look at what I did on DDs starting out! something is changing and me no likey!!!

Flutter 01-11-2013 01:46 PM

Love the tea you guys are talking about! I miss hot teas...used to be my favorite drink. I haven't been able to have it in years, though. Both hot & iced teas give me heartburn. Wonder if I can give it a whirl again? I'd be over the moon if I could drink it again!

I was just thinking this today! I admit last week getting back to strict rotations I had moments of panic that this wasn't going to work for me anymore cause of not being able to drop any pounds, and the hungries that would not leave.. :o then, day before last, that DD went great...then today's is going fabulous..! I am thrilled to be feeling better again and the energy returning like it was before I went to Vegas. :)

I do mostly liquids for DD's too when I'm feeling good. Makes meal planning easy. I really wish I liked tea, would be nice on a crisp day like today.. bbbrrrrrrrrr!!!

grammyw/kitties 01-11-2013 02:21 PM

I am hoping the SIRT1 starts to happen here shortly...I feel great and actually enjoy the down days but I am not really losing any # ..5 in a month,I should not be so greedy because I do feel good now ..the first 2 weeks were tough but it is leveling out. I am on my 10th dd tomorrow and I think thats when things start to happen...patience my child!!!

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 03:15 PM

Patience is key with JUDDD, grammy, that's right. :) I am losing slowlyyyyy too, and haven't lost anything this month yet. I got down to 190 in Dec., saw it once this month, but still haven't stayed at it consistently...I am trusting in JUDDD magic and just enjoying the ride. Remind me of this later. :D

Flutter, you can take Prilosec and drink tea. :D Unfortunately I couldn't find any yummy teas at Bi-Lo, but bought some breakfast tea that I'm drinking now with a little light cream. Not the treat I'd hoped for, but still pretty good.

tobelowcarber 01-11-2013 03:30 PM

B: x
L: 4 HB egg whites 68 cal
D: 10 oz baked salmon 400 cal

total 468 cal

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 03:45 PM

Decided on a open sammy: 1 half bun toasted, 1.5 slices of deli turkey, 1 square of cheddar, 1 dill pickle, mustard (200). Afraid I'm not going to have a low DD LCG, but it has been a very good one! :)

LG, weeeeeellll...it's an interesting life, that's for sure. Short summation: Several months ago DH lost his job, we put everything into storage, moved out of our place. Went to South Africa to volunteer for five weeks. Got back in October, since then we've been moving around, staying with friends, helping them with stuff--we helped my parents after my dad had knee replacement surgery, now we're helping a friend fix up her house...DH likes to say we're just following the Universe.

We're hoping to go back to SA in a few months so don't really want to settle down just yet, no point in renting a place to leave it empty. So as long as the lifestyle works, we'll keep doing this. When something changes, we'll re-evaluate.

Our kids call us hippies, LOL. Maybe we are.

Luna Loca 01-11-2013 04:36 PM

Still haven't eaten anything yet for DD, milk in tea has been the only source of calories. Have a crustless quiche in the oven, will have a slice of quiche and some brussels sprouts (maybe) and then DD will be complete.

Went for a 45-minute walk today so I'm feeling pretty good about this DD.

Librarygirl 01-11-2013 05:18 PM

Sounds like a great DD, Luna. :) Your living situation does sound interesting, and I admire you for the carefree spirit!!! When life threw your dh lemons, you guys made some tasty lemonade!!:up:

My DD has gone fairly well. I'm near if not a bit over the 500 limit and I just took some vitamins...feeling nauseated because I guess I haven't had enough food for them to digest properly. Hope I don't need to eat again. ETA: decided to eat two prunes. Hope to kill two birds ;)

Luna Loca 01-11-2013 07:40 PM

Thank you for the mention of vitamins! I'd forgotten to take mine...always a challenge on DDs because you're supposed to take them with food and not eating until dinner, I tend to forget the vitamins!

Lychee 01-11-2013 07:59 PM

Stuff I wasn't supposed eat today
Hummus
Blueberries
Oranges
Tangerines
Caramelized onions (this was supposed to be dinner for tomorrow...)
But at least I didn't go totally off the rails. Just more of a medium day than down day. Next time will stick more to the hot lemonade because that works really well to cut hunger.
Tomorrow: up day! I won't punish myself on the up day by subtracting, just do better next down day.

Luna Loca 01-12-2013 11:12 AM

Lychee :hugs:

That's the perfect attitude. JUDDD is forgiving. Yesterday is over. Have a nice, moderate up day today and don't punish yourself for the past. :high5:
