And cocomint creme. Seriously. Soooo good. And forever nuts (it's mostly apple-y, tastes like apple cake, and is PINK). Sleigh ride is like the above, but with more cinnamon and popped rice-- gives great depth.
Ok, I'll stop now S. |

I'm about to put in a new David's tea order! In my first order from a month or two ago I had:
-red velvet cake (liked it, but maybe not a top favorite for me?) -sleigh ride (interesting and good flavor but has a tart note that I think I'll like better in iced tea with lots of sweetener) -Alpine punch (my surprise favorite so far ... I adore the flavor and aroma! The first one gone & I'm ordering more) -forever nuts (yum! this one is gone) -hot toboggan: pretty good, interesting, but again, not one of my very favorites. -toasted marshmallow: liked it, but I haven't been using it much. I've decided I really need my teas to be mostly decaf since I drink coffee in the am and caffeine too late will keep me up. I buy David's fillable tea bags too... just measure out the amount of your loose leaf tea with the "perfect spoon," stick it in the bag, close the drawstring, steep, and toss. The order I am about to place has: cocomint cream, coco chai rooibos, more alpine punch, cookie dough, and cocoa canela (now that Carly gives it the thumbs up! chocolate and cinnamon sounds fabulous). I also am a fan of Good Earth original tea and the Sugar Cookie tea. For a different kind of flavor, I just got: Good Earth Lemongrass and Celestial's peppermint and "Jammin Lemon Ginger." I like them all. I'm really into gingery-lemon-spicy right now for some reason.

Ok, so I don't think I'm a "dessert flavor" tea lover.
The chocolate teas I bought are just so-so and the lipton caramel truffle I couldn't even stand the SMELL of brewing. I got 2 sips down and threw it out. (so much for that box!) ![]() I'm sipping my absolute favorite from years ago now, though. Oh sleepytime tea, how I have missed thee!!!!!!!!!!! |

My box of Eggnogg'n is getting low. I didn't see any at Wal-Mart. I have to order some of the tea bags I can fill myself with my David's teas.

I have to place another order soon. I'll get the Red Velvet and Cocoa Canella again. I don't need more birthday cake yet, but I really like that one and toasted marshmellow was just OK, so I'll try a couple new ones this time!

I'm down to my last 3 little samplers (not kinds I like) of David's Tea; my big order better get here soon! I'll post what I think of my new teas once I start working through them. I'm craving Red Velvet Cake tea right now,
but I'll have to "white knuckle' through it until my delivery comes. |

Things got a little crazy around here and I've only tried 2 of the 4 I'd ordered from David's and was so impatient to get! I love the Birthday Cake - YUMMERS! Toasted Marshmallow is good, but I was a bit disappointed. I still have to sample the Red Velvet Cake (I think I'll go make some now!) and the Creme Caramel Rooibos.
On another note, my coffeemaker died this morning! Ahhhhh! |

I've spent the last week gaining a new appreciation for a tea I initially hadn't been impressed with (Taylors of Harrogate Scottish Breakfast). I'd purchased it from Amazon about a year ago, was surprised it was actually 3 boxes rather than one, and somewhat disappointed that it was only 'loose leaf' instead of 'full leaf'. I also think I hadn't used enough tea that first (and only) time I'd prepared it.
Fast forward a year...using a full rounded spoonful plus an extra minute of steeping time (to 4 min), I can say that this is a lovely tea. Very strong but not nearly as bitter as my Twinings Irish Breakfast or their 1706 Breakfast teas. Very nicely balanced and smooth with the addition of milk. And enough caffeine to keep me going with all the moving stress.

Our coffee guy came in to work a few minutes ago, and I got some tea for my Keurig at home. They had a pretty limited selection, but I got K-cups of Celestial Seasonings India Spice Chai and Bigelow Green Tea with Pomegranate (I don't like fruity teas, but I'll try it. If I don't like it, DH or the kiddo has a new tea).

I finally got in my order of David's Tea. I had it sent to my workplace and couldn't get it on Saturday, and then Monday was a federal holiday ... I was so relieved when it arrived on Tuesday. I ordered large amounts of some of my favorites, like "Forever Nuts," "Red Velvet Cake," "Cookie Dough," and "Chocolate Orange" and smaller amounts of several kinds that sounded good. So far, I've tried "Creme Caramel Rooibos" (love it), "Carrot Cake" (okay but not crazy about it), and "Brazilianaire" (again, okay but not crazy about it). Down days don't feel like deprivation with teas that I love on hand. Is it Soren who turned us on to David's Tea? I think she deserves a kickback from the company.

I've been treating the calories in my David's Tea as essentially zero, and just count the half and half or cream that I add to a cup of tea. I suppose there are some calories there, but I'd rather not worry about them. What do others do, in terms of counting calories in flavored teas? |

I have just concocted the best tea I have ever had and its is wonderful on a DD, completely killing my appetite.
I don't remember the brand name but its a lemon ginger tea (one variety I has adds probiotics) which i make in a nice big mug, add about 4-5 drops of liquid splenda and then a very very hearty splash of lemon juice ( you can adjust sweetner after lemon if it gets too tangy). For some reason it tastes like it has honey in it. I've had a sore throat the last couple weeks and it totally takes care of that too.

I don't count the calories in tea... I'm 90% sure that for things like plain green or black tea, when they say there's calories, they must mean if you like ingest the leaves (like you would for green matcha...). Anyway, for me, 5 cals per mug (at most) doesn't seem to matter much, if there's even that much in there.
My current favorites: Herbal: cocomint cream, sleigh ride, and chickory dickory dock. caffeinated: chocolate rocket (doesn't hit me quite as hard as other caffeineated..), cranberry pear (has just a sprinkle of black tea, it's really mostly fruit). |

My new David's tea order came.
Cocomint cream is DIVINE. I took a chance and ordered the 100g, and I'm so glad I did!Cocoa Canela - I first sipped when it wasn't steeped enough and thought it was too weak, but I enjoyed this quite a bit after I let it steep awhile. I like some strong flavor! Cookie dough - similar to red velvet cake ... that same dessert in a cup flavor. I want to try this with real sweetener because the splenda gave it a slightly artificial note that I don't notice with other teas. coco chai rooibos - a disappointment. Not flavorful or spicy enough for me as described. Soren, my next order will include Mango Diablo for sure! Keep the reviews coming, because I hate to waste my tea money on a coco chai rooibos! ![]() |

I am really, really trying to get on the tea train. I SO want to look forward to drinking tea on a DD, but right now, I still grudgingly make tea to stretch my DD calories.
![]() I bought some of the rooibos tea (CS Safari Spice) and it's okay. I've been looking at the Davids Tea site again. These are SO tempting to try but they're also so expensive if my taste buds say no I don't think so. So, I just skimmed over this whole thread again and have a couple of questions. How much tea do you get (i.e. how many cups) from - I'm assuming - a tin? I would probably just use a bag once - I've already looked at the T-Sacs on Amazon and they seem right up my alley. I am SO leery of spending so much on teas if I'm already having a struggle liking the teas from the store. I know this is subjective and depends on the tea (and the person), but how does store teas rate compared to DT's? The Birthday Cake, Cookie Dough, Mint Chocolate Rooibos, Red Velvet Cake and Cocoa Canela seem appealing to me being that I love cake, cookies, and chocolate. The fruity stuff would be second inline, but distant, I think. Not typically a fan of chocolate and fruit mixed together, either. If I overlooked it, do they have a sampler pack where you can get what you want? Oh, does anyone ever add a little sf syrups to any of the teas? Thank you, oh Tea Goddesses that you are!

I just tried Celestial Seasonings Sweet Vanilla Chai - decaf.
Thought the coconut flavor was pretty good, and had a good amount of spice calichris- maybe you would like something like that instead of the coco chai rooibos |
