Fwiw, I think there's no carbs in tea, unless you consume the leaves ( or whatever you are brewing). In matcha green tea, it's powdered, so you actually consume the leaves.

Otherwise, it's counted by most plans as free. Double check on the Atkins site, but I remember tea as free. There's maybe issues with caffeine and blood sugar / insulin response ( ymmv) but I wouldn't count the carbs unless you use cream, milk, etc.

They sell the peppermint/ chocolate RoT at Bed Bath and Beyond where I live, but from what I hear not all BB&Bs have a food market.

I have tried, really I have, but I just don't like hot tea except for Chamomile. BUT I am loving the unique teas as iced tea. I like weak tea and they are perfect and I can steep several times and still have flavor in my iced tea. I am having carrot cake iced tea today. Yum Yum.

Don't know if I can. I'm on vacation from 4/8-4/12, but I may not have it in me in the morning.

I would think your co-workers would be maybe slightly understanding & accommodating, even with the upcoming vacation, all things considered...I know its tough to ask for extra days off & help but if ever there were a time.
Take care of yourselves!

I think they would understand and I will see how I feel in the morning. I have a few patients that panic every time I go on vacation and if I call out sick so this would be a double whammy, but I'll just have to see what the morning brings.

I hear that!! Some of our clients FREAK OUT when my Dad goes out of town. Typically revenue drops, like, 90% when we have a relief vet in. Since I've been working with him (part time) for 1.5 years, revenue stays pretty steady now when he's gone and I'm covering for him. (I'm citing revenue as that's how we judge how busy we are on any given day/week/month.) But there are still some people who refuse to see anyone but him. Many are ok with seeing me because I'm his daughter (apparently competency is genetic?) and I hear at least once a day about how someone remembers me from when I was little (natch - 1/2 the time they're remembering my little sister but I still smile and nod).

Having said all that, if you don't take care of yourself NOW you won't be as available to your patients in the long run. Sometimes we have to put ourselves first, and our own mental/physical wellbeing ahead of others (even those we're trying to help) because who fixes the fixer?!?!?!

I truly hope you're feeling up to going in tomorrow as that means you're feeling well but take the time if you need it.

Yes, I realize that's easy for me to say. And I'm sure you realize in your shoes I'd probably go into work too. Do as I say, not as I do

Oh, and I'd never go to work in YOUR shoes...I'd kill myself in 4" heels!!

Anybody use a French press for their tea? I left my individual cup strainer thingy (that's the technical term right?) at home and we have a restaurant supply store next door to my office, so I ran over there, thinking they might have a small teapot with a built in strainer, but all they had were huge pots, or a French press. I'm trying it out.

I've seen that done, and I have a version of that for tea, but it's set up a bit differently (but the overall idea of gathering the tea into one area after letting them float around for brewing is the same) and it's fine.

I used it with the chocolate chili chai and it came out great. I then re-steeped and the second cup came out great too.

I stopped in at TJ Maxx today to check to see if they had any flavored SF syrups which they used to carry often. No BUT as I was browsing I noticed the very bottom shelf had TEA. SO I ended up with a hand held mandolin and three kinds of tea and a bag of flavored coffee. The coffee is chocolate covered Easter eggs. Will try that in the morning since DH won't be here for breakfast.
I thought it was loose tea since it was in round tins but they are little round tea bags. One of them has 50 bags and the other only 22 but it is a wellness tea with dandelion and burdock root. I tried the Ginger and Peach and it is very nice. Resteeped for ice tea for tomorrow.

Adi, if the ginger peach is by republic of tea, thats a very nice one, i actually finished my tin of it, all as iced tea (cold brewed)

Love my little plastic mandolin, just watch your fingers!

Adi-I'm pretty sure, though not certain, that both dandelion and burdock are diuretics.....just so you're prepared

Thank you. That is actually why I bought it since I have started having some water retention issues along with recurring migraines. Hope this will help out. With the water anyway.

My new little mandolin has a guard but I still wear my big old silicon oven mitt when I use it since I have a definite fear of sharp objects.

The Ginger Peach is by Tea of Life but it was very nice. I am using that for my iced tea today. I also got a box of assorted teas by Tazo which sound good. I may have found my tea source. Marked down no shipping and I can browse to my heart's content although I will never know what they have since they are a closeout store. Makes it kind of fun though.

And my box of assorted has two Purple Passion packets so I am trying one as I type. I made it as iced tea and it is such a pretty color and has a very nice flavor. Think this one is a keeper too.

I never looked for tea at TJ Maxx. I get coffee there a lot and they have delicious flavors. I'll have to look when I get back. Bed, Bath and Beyond had a huge selection of tea the last time I was there. Their tea was pretty expensive, but with a coupon you can get 20% off.

I was in Vitamin Shoppe earlier today for protein powder and saw they have a ton of teas. I didn't have time to explore, but thought I'd share it here in case anyone's interested.

Yep, I've been thinking about hot tea again too, even though it was 99* here yesterday. Mornings and evenings are getting chilly.

I still love my Twinnings Blackcurrant Breeze with sweetener. It's my favorite. I still have some of the David's flavors I ordered last year, and will be enjoying those again very soon.
